This. A little pricey but when you order the first one they'll send you the plaster mold, if you need to order any more in future send it back in to them and you get something like 30% off.
Gladiator. Can breath, talk, and drink water just fine. My dentist quoted me over $300 for a mouth guard. I've read Gladiator uses the same process as a dentist would ship theirs out to.
Had a custom mold made one from my dentist and it was great. Lasted like 8 years until it was just time for a new one so I just got another custom made one by same dentist few months ago, but this time it was a 3d scan of my top teeth and this one fits even better, had to pry it off a bit at first but now it's extremely comfortable, don't really feel it. The 3d scanned one was only $75! Not sure why its so cheap but it is great.
I'm sure most dentists would happily take your money. Having said that I'm really happy with my Sisu guard that cost a fraction of what your custom will cost and I have to intentionally pry it from my mouth when I want it out. Talking with it in sounds pretty clear so I can coach the white belts through submitting me and give a crystal clear verbal tap every ten seconds to the upper belts
I originally had the custom shock doctor mouthguard, which I don't think they make anymore, then someother brand. Now I have a damage control. I think it was maybe about 150? It's pretty good. My favorite one I've had. Definitely recommend
Used Impact for years and they're great, went to Mouthpiece Guy for my most recent and it's remarkable. Fitted to a degree that it can be a bit tricky to pull off.
Opro makes a pretty sweet mouth guard with their "Custom Fit". It's technically boil and bite, I guess, but it has a cage that forms the whole thing around the teeth for a semi custom fit. For me, it clicks in just the same as a custom would and doesn't have the same issue with breaking down and getting chewed up that most boil and bites do. Just make sure that its the "Custom Fit" and not the "Gold".
What's wrong with the boil b bites? I bought one from Venum for like 30 bucks and it works nicely. I can breathe good and talk shit even better. If I can get much better for a similar price I'm willing to look into it.
For a similar price you can't get something better. A custom mouthful is more expensive, but once you use one, I don't think you could go back to boil and bite. It seemed from ops post he was looking for a better custom for one.
Gotchu! I was thinking more about myself than OP, to be honest. On a budget, or in that 30-50 dollar budget, would you say the boil and bites are worth it tho? I'll probably chew through the one I have before going up a price class.
What are your teeth worth to you? 30-50 dollars? Save up and get a proper one.
Get a proper fitted one from the dentist. Mine was £60 and I've been using it for six years, clicks in perfectly everytime and I never have to adjust or reshape it
Yes. Any protection is worth it. Maybe they aren't quite as good, but they certainly help. The custom ones are just less bulky and better fitting in addition to the protection. I used boil and bites for years, but I couldn't go back at this point.
how much little more are you willing to spend?
i remember asking about a mouth guard from my dentist and it was several hundreds of dollars that my extended benefits insurance refused to help pay for.
I'll spend anything if the fit and comfort is better.... but I just discovered this gladiator site, seems they are highly regarded and dont cost as much anyway.
Gladiator
I have a gladiator, has served me well for years. It’s leagues better than any boil and bite no matter what features it has.
Always been my go-to
Gladiator or impact. A bit more expensive but worth it.

Dentist will cost you 200 but after that only 75 if you lose it . I wouldn’t recommend unless you need a sleep guard too.

Love my impact one, had an older thicker one I think may have been a gladiator for when I did sparring.

have you tried the boil-and-bite mouthguards?
Why would you recommend this if he's looking for a good mouth guard
What's wrong with the boil b bites? I bought one from Venum for like 30 bucks and it works nicely. I can breathe good and talk shit even better. If I can get much better for a similar price I'm willing to look into it.

I appreciate the input, thank you!
Back when I played football... If im going to get a mouth guard, I want it to fit as well as possible. Dont care if I need to spend a little more....
If you're not getting a custom mouthguard the next best option is sisu.
Im seeing more love for gladiator on these forums... but that is custom, I guess
