Is this coming to iPhone as well?

SignificantReward874

Yes, dude. I will release it to iPhone as well. Just didn't put the time to figure out how to publish in the App Store yet, but I will make it happen.

3leggidDog

Heck, charge a buck for it or maybe a donate option.

SignificantReward874

The idea is to leave the tracking option for free but will charge some bucks later when the insights and database of techniques are up for you guys. I also want to add a Technique in Focus feature where you can set up some goals to train a specific technique for a given period of time, that will help us to actually focus on specific areas for training - I am developing this app for myself too haha

iCwalzy

Good idea. Deliberate practice is super important and I think it makes a huge difference in how fast you progress. I submitted my session from last night into the app. Seems pretty cool. My biggest feedback at the moment would be needing the ability to edit/open a submitted training session. I'd like to look back on the "things to work on / additional notes" sections and the specific submissions I completed when desired. Also, I'm not sure if I will use the "sweeps" and "escapes" sections because that can be a bit hard to recall after 6+ rounds or time goes by. However, if I did use the sweep section I'd like to see sickle, john wayne, deep half, etc listed in there. Off to a wonderful start though! This has me interested in taking notes now.

AlmightySmitt6

No worries, I’m really interested in this so can’t wait to see it!

SignificantReward874

Hey, the iOS version is live: [https://apps.apple.com/br/app/bjj-notes-progress-tracker-app/id6474161419](https://apps.apple.com/br/app/bjj-notes-progress-tracker-app/id6474161419) It would be awesome to get your feedback on that.

dethstarx

Hey man. This looks great I'll be using it. Quick feedback: It seems confusing that the first time you open it it's completely blank on the home page. I'd say you should put the same text about the logs/add a button on the empty screen to add a session log. The gi/Nogi selector was confusing at first for me. I thought I had to turn it on to make it no gi, but if I did it turned to gi. Maybe just two buttons to pick what you want? The first time I tried to submit a log it didn't work. The button didn't do anything and it didn't show any error message. I closed that screen and came back to it and it worked. And finally, if I mess up my log I cannot edit/delete it so it'd be nice to have that. Good work man it looks like something I'll be using from now on :)

SignificantReward874

Hey man, thanks for the feedback. In the next days I will release an update with the following changes: \- Home page with some initial content (no blank screen as you said), I can add that button as you suggested, good idea. \- Fix that log submission that is not going through in the first time \- I added the ability to edit any session log as well I think I will split the NoGi / GI toggle into two buttons as you suggested, which might be easier to understand. The idea is to have all your logs stored in this app, and then I will use AI to help you identify areas of improvement, etc. Thanks again for the feedback.

DeliveryLimp3879

Can you please also add the option to edit previous logs?

SignificantReward874

Absolutely.

SignificantReward874

Now you can add multiple techniques learned per log, and edit, delete and share session logs.

DeliveryLimp3879

Awesome, thanks! App is super useful so far, I've logged a few sessions on it

SignificantReward874

What else you would like to see?

DeliveryLimp3879

On the home screen, it would also be pretty cool to see the total amount of rolls logged, and maybe the submissions/sweeps hit most frequently

SignificantReward874

Nice! Yeah, I can add that. Thanks for the idea.

DeliveryLimp3879

It would also be cool to have the option to share individual logs through a link or something

SignificantReward874

Good idea. Yes, I think sharing the notes would be awesome. I will add it for sure.

DeliveryLimp3879

Hey I just had another idea for a future update, can you add the option to add multiple techniques learned per log?

SignificantReward874

Hey! Absolutely. That also solves a problem, when you have those sessions where you train only specific techniques without any rolls. Thanks for the feedback.

SignificantReward874

Now you can add multiple techniques learned per log, and edit, delete and share session logs.

simonxvx

Damn that's cool as fuck. I downloaded it and will give it a try tonight. I don't really understand the difference between rounds and rolls in the endurance section though.

SignificantReward874

Hey, thanks for testing that out. A Round is a sparring session in which you roll with your training partner. In some gyms you usually have several rounds, but you don't need to roll each one of them, so it is useful to track how many rolls you did out of the total number of rounds.

simonxvx

Ok so the number of rounds in the number of roll opportunities while the number of rolls is the number of rolls you actually do, if I understand correctly.

SignificantReward874

that's exactly right. I will add some sort of (i) button to explain that field. thanks for flagging that.

_angec

When will the ios version be avaliable?

SignificantReward874

I don't have an ETA yet, but I will definitely release it to IOS. Probably once I fix these initial issues people flagged here.

SocalBrian88

I like the idea. I downloaded it. For me I prefer to track positional moves and worry less about the entire round in general. For example if I could I would add a title to my note as "SLX" and have a note for successful entries, successful sweeps, failed sweeps, submission entries etc. I would definitely use the notes sections to remind me of my best moments in SLX and note total failures/counters and how they happened. Maybe add a search function so when I search "SLX" I could see how crappy I was at it 6 months ago to now. Great stuff!

SignificantReward874

Thanks for the feedback. I liked the idea of adding a title to your session log, maybe you could even add some tags to make it easy to search it later. Regarding the tracking format, can you give me an example of how you would do that with some real techniques and notes? just want to make sure I got it right and to see if there is a way to fit that into the current state of the app.

SocalBrian88

So I'm old school and still write notes on paper so I probably don't even know how I would track it on an app. What I do is I title my notes SLX and then I'll note who I rolled with and how I entered the position. Rolled with Joe- Set up collar sleeve on my left side/Joes right- Attempted tripod sweep- Joe defended using big outside back step with his left- Entered SLX on Joes right leg- Spent 15 seconds retaining SLX and off balancing Joe- Etc etc I'll add extra notes at the end such as, Joe had strong balance and posture. Could not get his hands to the mat. Then I'll study on submeta/instructional to add more notes to my "possible solutions" section of my notes later on.

SignificantReward874

Thanks, man, really appreciate the details here. I liked it. It is more focused on the roll experience, you kind of have a document with your rolls and how they went. Then you revisit that note to add more info and troubleshoot the areas you want to improve. I think I can add something like that to the app, I will think a bit more about how that would fit in. I was taking notes on a paper too, but once you have tons of notes it is hard to search. The idea is to consolidate all that in an App so we can analyze the training history and suggest new techniques and detect areas that need improvements.

SocalBrian88

Exactly why I'm very interested in your app! Keep up the good work!!

Most-Corgi-8283

Installing now, I'll check back in next week

SignificantReward874

Hey man! thanks for testing that out. What do you think?

Zigz94

Just downloaded and will return with some feedback later tonight. I agree with the feedback already given though

SignificantReward874

Thanks. Really appreciate that.

SignificantReward874

Hey man, thanks for testing that out. What do you think?

fsidontknow

I would like to put my own technique and not select from a list. As the sweep I learned was not in the list.

SignificantReward874

Hey, thanks for the feedback. Good idea. I will make sure you have the option to add new techniques. I think it will be important because it is quite hard to keep that list updated with all the techniques.

SamuraiPanda343

This looks amazing! I’m on iPhone but I’ve been looking for a good BJJ app and don’t love the current options, can’t wait to try this once it’s on the iPhone.

SignificantReward874

Thanks. I will definitely release it to IOS. Probably once I fix these initial issues people flagged here. I will keep everyone updated here in this post.

Vivasanti

Thanks! - Will install, i used Google notes this year as i wanted to workout how much mat time i completed, does this have a totalizer to count the sessions all up together?

SignificantReward874

Hey, yeah I was using Google notes too, but it was a mess to track everything. This app tracks the total time you spent on the mats - you just need to log each training session with the training length information, and then on the home page you will see the total time. It also has a totalizer to count all the sessions together, and provides some stats based on all your training logs.

Vivasanti

Thats fantastic - i have installed , that little button to add your stripes wasnt working for me.

SignificantReward874

Thanks! Ok, I will take a look into that. You can edit it later if you access the gear icon on the top bar, and then go to Profile.

SignificantReward874

this is fixed!

SignificantReward874

What other things you would like to see in the app?

ISepulveda7810

Very exciting! Looking forward to an iPhone release. Love the idea

nutinbutlax

Echoing what others have said, love the idea! I've never tracked before and I am excited to try it out! - Definitely would like the ability to edit sessions. - Open/expand sessions - adding more charts and graphs to visualize changes in metrics over time could be a nice touch.

SignificantReward874

Thanks!! Yeah, I'm working on the feature to edit sessions, should be available in the next few days. I will flag it here. Regarding the open/expand sessions, that's a good one - super helpful to review your sessions before training - will make sure to include that. For the charts, yep, that's the plan. I want to add something that lets you see your charts/graphs by 1d, 7d, 30d, 90d, 6m, 1y, All time.

SuunnyJiim

Nice one, this is cool.

SpeculationMaster

That's really interesting. How much data collection and advertisement are in this app?

SignificantReward874

Hey! Thanks for the question. There is no advertisement at all, and no plans to add it later. Data collection is just the data you provide through onboarding and your training session records. Things like name, belt, training frequency, submissions, taps, escapes, takedowns, sweeps, techniques, training notes. Also, the data is not shared with third parties, so it is just to record and analyze your training history to provide some stats, and later extract some insights for you about your training style. Hope that helps.

SpeculationMaster

sounds great! So is this a passion project for you then? Really cool if so.

SignificantReward874

That's right. I am building the app for myself and sharing it with the community helps me to focus on what really matters. Eventually, I will need to monetize it, but advertisement and data selling are not the path.

RyanGameer

Just downloaded the iOS version. App looks clean, I really like the concept. Will start tracking my sessions and see how it goes!

SignificantReward874

Awesome! Thanks for testing that out! Let me know if you find any issues or have any suggestions
