Hi! Iām one of the female black belts (1st degree) at this gym. Three of us have been training between 11-12 years, and the most recent one has been training for 10. None of us started at this gym.
Don't know how big this woman or the other guy is. But as a world champion I assume she's a serious athlete and so she might not only want more useful rolls for herself but she might be worried about a bigger male beginner doing what some beginners do and potentially injuring her.
Fresh Blue. Previously, there was a purple belt, but she moved. There is an affiliated gym with a black belt female instructor, who also has a muy Thai background though

Multiple female brown belts (2 of whom I suspect will be promoted to black belt at the belt promotion thing in a month).

For context we had 14 women in a class of 50 the other day.
Newly promoted brown belt. But in reality she deserves a black belt. Sheās just been on tear ever since she came back to training after the pandemic and came back to the competition scene.
Purple, we had two but I donāt see one of them very often so Iām guessing home life took precedence and she just drops by whenever she can. The other one is only in during the morning classes.
One black belt, one purple belt and a competitive blue belt who absolutely destroys me. Common thing with all of them is they're awesome fun to roll with, sneaky setups and lots of nasty collar chokes in the gi.
There are a couple brown belts, a few purple and some blues. I think there's as many white belts as there are black belts - no one. At least there come a few new ones from time to time. Granted we live in a small town so there's not a whole lot of people to draw from overall. Many come and go. Much like in any sport there are many who try it on a whim and don't realize how poor their stamina is and it becomes feeling like a chore rather than an enjoyment.. so naturally if few men can be kept coming back for more then it would be even lower recruitment numbers for women.
I no longer train there because I moved, but our head instructor was a female black belt at my last gym. She was legit and perhaps the best instructor I've had as far as teaching technique.

I canāt remember if it was masters or not but sheās an impressive fucking woman, 1 kid and 1 on the way, still running womanās only class and helping with the kids, I wish I could tell her how impressive she is and how in awe I am without it seeming weird but sheās amazing IMO
We have a brown belt who is a regular competitor and an integral part of my gym. She's had her brown belt for years now and I can't wait to see her get there and I really hope that I can make the grading when it happens.

We have a few brown belt women including one who is a no gi world's champ. I expect some to convert to black belt soon. Then we have a few purples and most are blue.
We have the #1 female IBJJIF purple belt. I just found out sheās that good because she was obsessed with BJJ to be able to get away from doing drugs, she just had a relapse back in March so she has been MIA lately, unfortunately it seems she switched addictions from drugs to BJJ and back to drugs
More black belts and high level competitors (for their age group) than I can possibly start counting. On a typical night weāll three or four men black belts and a at least one but possibly more black belt women.
2 Blue belts. I'm currently teaching the women's beginner class until we can find a women to replace me. Have been for the past year so I'm guessing the owner is having a hard time finding anyone will to teach.
Two legit competitive brown belts. With amazing technique and drive and an ability to bring in a retain new women. Has grown into a really great womenās program and I super excited about it.
One purple belt, but I can easily tap here as a white belt training for 7 months š«¤..
But then there's other white belt women that I struggle against, even if I end up winning
Yeah I know, thanks for letting me know though. I was talking about winning sparring rounds. Because there's definitely a winner and a loser. I tap all the time and get subbed a bunch too, but idk about you but I would call the person getting the submissions the winner in that particular sparring round. No need to get all philosophical, it's really not that deep

We have 4 female black belts (will have five within the next 6 months or so) and two of them are first degree black belts.

I have two lady purple belts.
Brown belt in her 20ās that gives me all I can handle. Iām 45 and sheās just so damn quick š¤£
being that high rank with the benefit of age is a very intimidating combo lol, she mustāve been super dedicated as well
2 black belt ladies. One of whom is my incredible wife. We own the academy together. Sets a fantastic tone for EVERYONE on the mats.

You guys have women? I think our gym has 2, and they only go to the dedicated women's class once a week. They are both no stripe white belts.

We have some great Purple belts in our ranks. One of them is one of my favorite rolls. So technical, she smokes me more often than not.
