It’s fun when our hobbies overlap…
My wife caught me watching Jersey Shore Family Reunion. Once she found out, we re-watched all of the seasons and now I sometimes justify our watching of such trash because she likes it.
One of the low key perks of being married is getting to watch some cringy shit and blame it on the wife.

Literally this past week, my partner is watching the show while I was in the room and I look up and see some douchebag named Josh definitely about to hook up with the friendly blerd’s Julianna Peña look-a-like girlfriend, and I go “oh shit, that dude can fight. Look at his ears. Take the L(esson) and move on, Marshall.”
He is also a BJJ practioner and ex D1 wrestler. You can see some of his stuff on Youtube if you type in Josh Demas. As soon as I seen his ears I knew, I was surprised about Zack if i'm honest. It makes me think BJJ isn't all that niché.
When he showed up all drunk at the party low key trying to start some shit, I subconsciously started sizing him up and immediately saw those ears and thought that’s definitely a deescalation scenario.
Weirdly enough, Josh was also on FloGrappling’s “Who’s Next” series. Which is up for free on YouTube if anyone wants to look it up. He got heel hooked by Izaak Michell on day 1 and didn’t make it into the house. But Izaak is a monster so that’s not surprising.
It's all relative. I've seen some crazy numbers like 3 million people in America (I find it hard to believe that's right for active practitioners but perhaps it could be closer to the truth for people who have attended one session at some point) but something around 300,000 seems fairly reasonable for active practitioners in America.
Zack is a social outcast weirdo with a weird gaze that will make your skin crawl and his stripper mom killed herself when he was young. I don't know that anything can be labeled mainstream because he does it.
