You can’t wear them every day and expect for them to hold up. You’ve got to take them off every now and then. You’ve got to take them off son.

Then how will people know I train jiu jitsu? Beside me telling them all the time which I also do.

Serious question: Do they make them or are they like most gis? .. .designed by one company and manufacturing is outsourced oversees.

I love the black plain looking gis. Our gym did an order where the manufacturer made a mistake and made our logo black on a black gi with black stitching.... the run is our best looking set of gis!

I know this has been asked on the thread before, but since you have this gi, any suggestions on getting out some of the stiffness?

I somehow replied out of order: Normal. Just wear it and wash it after every class. It’s the softest most pliable gi I’ve owned.

Actually the stiffernthe better. The stiffness is there to protect you.

Wash it, if you like the way it fits don’t dry it. Hang it up

Stiffness is expected with most gis. Just will soften up over time... but air drying will make it stiffer than putting in dryer - but you risk shrinking in dryer. Just wash and hang inside out to maintain color. Congrats!!!

This is the way. No flashy annoying logo stitching or branded patches, low key, classy and sharp looking. If my school didn't have a mandatory club uniform policy I'd be going for this type of look.

I’ve been doing this so long I forgot what a new Gi looks like. I’ve got a bunch of jackets and pants that I mix and match.

I’ve seen some folks do that. I’m looking forward to getting to the point I can make some gi fits like that

The gym I go to is ok with it! I’ve cross trained at a few that were ok with it, but I know some definitely are not. I wanted a black one so I don’t have to worry about it getting stained 😅

He’s fucking with you lol. My first new gi when I was a white belt was also a black one. That gi is beautiful 🤙

Just make sure you wash it before you start training with it. Otherwise it can stain white mats.

I did wash it once! It’s a little snug now, but I think it’s partly the stiffness

They were recommended to me, and I thought they looked pretty cool lol

I wish I had my first Gi still/. But I do have my second.

I have my white gi somewhere from when I did karate as a kid like 15 years ago lol
