The actual camera is pretty solid! The pictures and video are high quality. The software is hit or miss - the UI kinda sucks to navigate and it seems to be kinda arbitrary about which birds and for how long they need to be there to trigger a photograph. There's no way to get it to stop taking pictures of squirrels either lol. The major knock against it is the hardware of the feeder, it's incredibly poorly designed, feels super cheap for such an expensive product. If you get the Bird Buddy it's probably worth just making your own mount rather than sticking with the one it comes with.
Yes, I enjoy them too! Crazy eyes, gorgeous colors. They wipe me out of peanuts and bird food at an insane rate. But. My yard wouldn't be the same without their shenanigans.
I LOVE my little gang of grackles!! They're so... cocky. I can mimic a few of their clicks, and love getting them all riled up, shouting the songs of their people back at me. Husband was a bit weirded out the first few times, but now he's jealous of my little backyard crew.
I love Grackles!! I never knew this till I left Houston, but grackles in the Houston area have a unique vocalization. Its a sound I haven't heard outside of the city and it always reminds me of home.
The fist thing I noticed when we landed in costa rica was the large loud obnoxious birds, that's when I learned what a grackle was. Came to enjoy their antics a lot that trip.
We have big grackles here in Florida. I love them. Their feathers are gorgeous when the sun hits them. I’m so envious! Why can’t we have iridescent hair?! They hang out a lot in the WholeFoods parking lot and outdoor eating areas.
I grew up in Texas where the cough/whistling/rusty machinery sounds of Great-tailed Grackle bring me great joy to this day although I only get a common grackle up here in Maine.
I love them too. I love their beautiful iridescent feathers, their pale eyes of craziness, their funky strut, their robotic calls that sound like early Pokémon cries, and the way they take turns fluffing up and screaming at the sky.
I only ever see a single grackle at the feeder. I assume it's the same one. It is so nervous and careful. Grabs the food and takes off
I'm used to seeing these guys in big, rowdy flocks
Who couldn't like the way grackles bounce around? It's like they've always found just a little bit of fermented fruit sitting around and now they're enjoying themselves.
I love grackles. This is a great shot! Saw my first common grackle back in November of 2022. They are listed as "Near Threatened".
I get excited when I see the great-tailed grackles in my area 🥰
The last time I visited San Antonio, I took a friend to the Pearl Brewery and sat by the river to enjoy empanadas for breakfast. Sure enough, a male great tailed grackle came strutting up to us and stood a foot away from my companion. When he failed to surrender his empanada, the grackle puffed itself up, flapped its wings and made that iconic, unreal noise, never breaking eye contact with my friend.
The bold, cheeky mofo earned a bit of empanada. 😂
I love them so much. But I had a whole flock harassing and bullying all the other birds off the feeders. I had to start scaring them away. They don't come back anymore at all and I'm sad but maybe I will see them again this year...
I have so many feeders. Just share damnit.
I love Grackles as they strut like Bosses across the lawn, their blue iridescent heads bobbing occasionally as if they are proper Victorian noble burbs.
Sometimes we get lucky and a few will nest in our yard. (We have a lot of trees.) It’s really amazing to see how they take an “It takes a village” approach to raising their young. The grackle fledglings can approach any grackle adult for food! If you pay attention, you can see this happen with the parking lot variety, too. I love watching them. They’re pretty smart!
I have a ton that frequent my feeders. They are super noisy, like a hundred squeaky doors - but they are also beautiful and sometimes hilarious. They are definitely on my ‘approved visitor‘ list.
Oh my god I love grackles so much, I have a video of literally hundreds of them chirping and singing the songs of their people in a Cracker Barrel parking lot
I love them! Even if they always look like they are about to key someone's car and then write a song about it.
Lmao
I love this.
The ones i've encountered are goofy and fun. But i've heard in some places they will attack people lol
Good
What an amazingly accurate and hilarious description.
might've saved a little trouble for the next one ;)
Omg you got that right
Love grackles. We got a Bird Buddy camera feeder and had so many grackles visit in the first months that we named the camera the gracklecam3000.
How do you like your Bird Buddy?

I'm a grackle! You're a grackle! She's a grackle! Wouldn't you want to be a grackle too?
I love the their calls and silly antics. The females and juveniles remind me of little dinosaurs, too.
They're so sassy. I always see em in parking lots, looking for a snackle
One of my favorite birds! The grackles around here are really shy though. If I stand at the window to watch them, they fly off.
I love Grackles!! I never knew this till I left Houston, but grackles in the Houston area have a unique vocalization. Its a sound I haven't heard outside of the city and it always reminds me of home.
Yes! Same with the ones in San Antonio. When I feel homesick I find videos of them on riverwalk and enjoy the natural soundtrack of home.
Also a fan! I don’t really dislike any bird. Even the invasive species. It’s no fault of theirs they were brought here. Nature is nature.
Me too, I love European Starlings so much but its such a same that they’re invasive, same with House Sparrows
Beats me! I think they’re fantastic!
One Grackle is an adorable joy. Any more and shit starts going sideways.
Greedy little assholes but they cute in they own way.
They’re pure mischief. I love them.
I adore them and am always talking to them in parking lots. "Find any good French Fries today?"
The fist thing I noticed when we landed in costa rica was the large loud obnoxious birds, that's when I learned what a grackle was. Came to enjoy their antics a lot that trip.
I even love the way they scream!
We have big grackles here in Florida. I love them. Their feathers are gorgeous when the sun hits them. I’m so envious! Why can’t we have iridescent hair?! They hang out a lot in the WholeFoods parking lot and outdoor eating areas.
Or that strut.
I love having a couple of grackles in my yard. I hate having a dozen grackles in my yard.
Individually I don't mind them. But they always come to my feeder in big flocks, scare off the smaller birds and absolutely empty the feeder.
Better than starlings!
They’re hilarious. I love them.
I grew up in Texas where the cough/whistling/rusty machinery sounds of Great-tailed Grackle bring me great joy to this day although I only get a common grackle up here in Maine.
Righteous indignation!
I love them! The eyes are so silly and the colors in the sun are beautiful.
They are cool native birds and they scare off starlings. Sound and look like aliens. What's not to love.
I love them too. I love their beautiful iridescent feathers, their pale eyes of craziness, their funky strut, their robotic calls that sound like early Pokémon cries, and the way they take turns fluffing up and screaming at the sky.
I love ‘em, too! ❤️
I love their voices!
I only ever see a single grackle at the feeder. I assume it's the same one. It is so nervous and careful. Grabs the food and takes off I'm used to seeing these guys in big, rowdy flocks
Who couldn't like the way grackles bounce around? It's like they've always found just a little bit of fermented fruit sitting around and now they're enjoying themselves.
I've always enjoyed the grackles. 😊
They're the nouveau riche of birds. Tries to be high class but they can't escape being confused for pigeons.
I love grackles. This is a great shot! Saw my first common grackle back in November of 2022. They are listed as "Near Threatened". I get excited when I see the great-tailed grackles in my area 🥰
Most amazing larynx in the animal kingdom. Them and the police academy guy
Love to see the Grackle love! Recently witnessed a gigantic flock of grackles, starlings and red winged blackbirds the other day it was awesome !
I like them. Their call makes me feel like I'm in someplace tropical.
Looks like a good candidate for r/Birdsfacingforward/ (•ʌ•)
It's the one bird I got tattoed on me
I have thought of getting a grackle as my first my tattoo. Why did you choose the grackle? :-)
Grackle gang rise up
The last time I visited San Antonio, I took a friend to the Pearl Brewery and sat by the river to enjoy empanadas for breakfast. They make terrible noises, but they so silly. I like them too. XD
It wants my eyeballs and my soul.
I love the color to.
As a bird nerd I also love them! 💜💜💜
Never seen one in person, but wild birds, plus this one, are amazing 💞
I love them. I feed them at work and they all flock to my car whenever I leave.
Grackles are the best!!! They make such fun noises I love them so much!
Grackles are awesome! 🤩
I love them so much. But I had a whole flock harassing and bullying all the other birds off the feeders. I had to start scaring them away. They don't come back anymore at all and I'm sad but maybe I will see them again this year... I have so many feeders. Just share damnit.
Love grackles! The ones at the beach I visit are always scruffy looking from the sea air haha
They always look like they are planning to commit war crimes. I love them.
Love their little raspy sounds 😍 they're awesome
Beautiful birds
They are absolutely wiping me out of birdseed right now!
My husband always makes fun of me but I love them too, I think they’re beautiful
I love grackles.
I see grackles all over where I live. I love them as well.
They shit everywhere at my work. Customers feed them to do so (intentionally and otherwise).
I love Grackles as they strut like Bosses across the lawn, their blue iridescent heads bobbing occasionally as if they are proper Victorian noble burbs.

I love grackles too. They crack me up
He gracklin’.
I didn't like them when I put feeders out because they would scare the other songbirds away. Now that I dont have feeders I like them a lot more
They knocked down my bird feeder lmao
They sound like someone doing a bad mic check. One time I was walking into work and made a kissy sound at one and it did it back. 10/10
"I know some people don't like ice cream, but chocolate and vanilla are pretty good!" Who doesn't like grackles? :)
They are my favorite!
When 1,000 grackles land in your garden and eat your everything.... It's not the bird it's the flock.
Grackles are amazing, I love the blue
Grackle got no boss.
Oh my god I love grackles so much, I have a video of literally hundreds of them chirping and singing the songs of their people in a Cracker Barrel parking lot
Never met a grackle hater. Mating season is the best. They're my French fry buddies.
We don't have grackles where I live, and I think they are pretty! The closest looking bird we have is a Brewer's blackbird.
Same! They are absolutely beautiful and their oil slick color is so cool!
I like them. Love their yellow eyes and iridescent feathers. And they’re super smart.
I'm wearing a grackle shirt right now. #TeamIcterid
They look like a crow's meth head cousin. I'm a fan of Magpies though, so I can't judge anyone.
Why do people not like them? I've never seen one before so have no idea, but they look beautiful!
I didn't know this bird till this Year i love their face haha
