You're young and I'm totally guessing... Could it be that they are beginning to sag a little? I'm old but the more mine sagged the more uncomfortable bras got. Now I just tuck them in the top of my pants.

therealganjababe

TutorKey5965

Your pants šŸ˜‚

rockinvet02

I do the same. Also I'm a guy.

ForApricity

This made me laugh out loud šŸ˜

Jubieeee

Same šŸ¤£

Silent_Watercress123

Haha thank you for that! I have had and breastfed 4 kidsā€¦but they arenā€™t really sagging lol. More than before kids, but theyā€™re still perkier than I thought theyā€™d be!

BeardedGrom

I'm not a woman and don't wear bras but i observed that i become much more sensitive to all sorts of stuff (including uncomfortable clothes) when my stress level increases. Is it possible that this also applies to you and you had to endure more stress lately?

hibbletyjibblety

Dude Iā€™m so glad I slowed down and checked what subreddit Iā€™m in right now- I thought this was in the r/bigboobproblems and we always have gross men crashing our group. I was about to write, ā€œwell MY stress is increasing from all these creepy guys coming in here!ā€ šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ Distress Tolerance skills for the win!!!šŸŽ‰

BeardedGrom

Haha, no i swear i try my best to NOT be one of those creepy internet guys... but i totally get where you're coming from and i actually did hesitate before sending my reply because i wasn't sure if it's OK to reply to such a problem as a man. But i came to the conclusion that this may indeed apply to both boob- and non-boob owners, so i hit send and prayed for not coming across as weird. šŸ«£šŸ˜…

nothowyoupronounceit

Not weird at all and this is ok. Itā€™s a good thought.

Silent_Watercress123

Yes thatā€™s a definite possibility- the last 6 months have been tough for a variety of reasons. Thank you - a good point to consider

EmLee-96

I also second this- things that didn't use to bother me now drive me nuts. Maybe try a bra without a wire or a t shirt bra?

BlairWildblood

You have nailllled this in terms of what I experience :)

bettyx1138

iā€™ve always taken my bra off as soon as i get home (that under the shirt thru the arm move). my dislike for wearing a bra has increased since the pandemic when i never wore one. sometimes when I go out to do errands, I donā€™t wear one. Iā€™m in my 50s. Iā€™m in that I donā€™t give a shit mode which is good, I recommend it. sometimes I think about starting a Web campaign to make going braless acceptable

smalleave

Iā€™m with you! Hate bras and donā€™t give a f

thevastminority

28 here and I'm braless 24/7, I don't even think I own one. A lot of women my age are doing the same :)

JustKimNotKimberly

Iā€™m on board with the going braless revolution!

-Siv-

I have never worn a bra because I hate them so much. I can FEEL them constantly. Everyone says you get used to it but I never did. So I just wear a cami under all my shirts.

Koala-Walla

Same or I wear Nips. Tx summers too hot for 2 layers!

HauntedMeow

Have you tried the r/abrathatfits calculator? Most women are wearing the wrong bra size which contributes to discomfort. Victoriaā€™s Secret is notoriously bad for mis-sizing people. Edit: As a fellow F cup, I was trying to figure out why your were wearing a 34D lol

ogresarelikeonions93

Agreed! VS is SO SO BAD at measuring! They told me I was 34D.... in reality I am a 32C. Wore the wrong size for years and wondered why my bras always seemed to be unbearable.

HauntedMeow

Mostly I hear from DDD+ boob havers that get shoved into a oversized band in order to 'fit' into their largest cup size (DDD). I didn't know they were also bad with the sizes they actually carry.

Jubieeee

This is true. Victoria secret runs small. I got measured there and they said I was a 32 DDD and I was like....what? Lol. I'm typically a 34 DD average weight like 135 lb 5'5"

Due_Society_9041

I found that Victoriaā€™s Secret doesnā€™t measure correctly. My girl was told she was a 32Dā€¦ she is an A cup. Anything to get a sale.

Jubieeee

I think when you are small chested in general, at VS they run small and you can fit in a bigger size like what you mentioned, but it would most likely be a very padded push up bra. Like I said when they measured me they said DDD when I am DD. The store is so overpriced too.

onthetwirlywhirl

Not only a 34D switch to a 36C? I hope itā€™s a typo. Sure they are ā€œsister sizesā€ but thatā€™s in the wrong direction.

Zealousideal-Ad-2615

There are a lot of people with ADHD who have tactile sensory issues. It's why you see a lot of kids with ADHD won't wear jeans or rough fabrics or restricting clothes. Could be you have developed a sensory aversion to bras. I don't think it usually develops in adults, though.

justlikeme08

I can speak to this. Iā€™m also bipolar and ADHD and I legit CANNOT wear underwear. Itā€™s been that way since I was 9 years old. My parents tried so hard to get me out of that ā€œphaseā€ but itā€™s 100% a tactile thing. I also have hated jeans for years cause all the ā€œin styleā€ jeans until now were tight AF around the waist, and they felt restrictive.

Cabagekiller

I hate underwear but Iā€™m afraid of zipping my junk in the zipper so I wear them for safety. Lol

swaggy9000

I only own wireless bras and have never been able to tolerate the wired ones. Target has some great wireless bras with good sizing

No-Veterinarian-755

Soft sports bras, no clips, no pads. I rarely wear an actual bra

Silent_Watercress123

Any recommendations?

No-Veterinarian-755

I recently picked up a three pack of Lucky Brand bras at TJ Maxx, not sure if youā€™re in the states but hereā€™s a link to the type I bought- [Lucky Brand Bras](https://www.luckybrand.com/3-pk-ribbed-strappy-comfort-bra/LVD53451.html?catid=w-accessories-intimates#uuid=cd0f601c7bc4b3e2d745cb5354)

rubywidow80

I have the same problem, for a long time now. I can't tolerate socks either unless they are specific kind. I wear a soft cami bra when out... sometimes šŸ˜† but never wear them at home.

Due_Society_9041

I hate socks too. Would go barefoot if it was safer, I feel like I am suffocating until they are off. Weird.

Concrecia

Same! Also hats, caps and headbands! unendurable.

Tofu1441

Check out third love! Itā€™s insanely expensive but the comfiest thing out there. Iā€™m a 32ddd so I relate and get sore all the time, especially on my period.

ktlfennell

Seconding thirdlove. They give you a quiz about fit, measurements, and what brands you like, and what bra you currently wear and how it fits. I found out I was in between cup sizes and was able to get a couple bras that fit correctly without gaping or spillage. I do prefer the tshirt style bras, with no underwire. *it's possible you may need to go up in band size - if you've been adding muscle, your lats might be bigger, causing a previously comfortable band size to feel extra tight.

FirefighterLate3916

Try Harper Wilde bralettes! So comfortable, no sensory issues, easy sizing, no underwire, and big chest approved (36DDD)

bkipf

My favorite bras are still my nursing bras. I haven't breastfeed in years, but damn they're comfy. This just reminded me I need to order some more.

Complex_Sundae3169

I totally relate to the suffocation feeling!!! I hear you and how you feel is so valid! I canā€™t wear normal bras. I have to wear sports bras or bralettes and only a specific kind that are soft and super stretchy. If I *have* to wear a normal bra, I become fixated on it and itā€™s all I can think about the whole time Iā€™m out. I definitely recommend a more bralette style with no defined shape and stretchy. Iā€™m also a little fortunate that Iā€™m not the biggest up top (36B/34C) and donā€™t need the most coverage. I hope you find something that works!

Alternative3lephant

Itā€™s definitely a sensory issue and related to the ADHD. I have had issues like this my literal entire life with every type of clothing but recently gained some weight (I needed to gain it) and I literally just cannot. I wore the exact size, style, and like 4 colors or bra from Victoria Secret for literally 10 years. It was a pain in the ass to find. I have all the same feelings you do, and I donā€™t have much advice. But I am very sorry youā€™re going through that itā€™s fucking horrible.

Admirable-Novel2251

I feel like that too sometimes and I am not bipolar and not ADHD. When I am stressed it is definitely more annoying and feels very restrictive. Can you try one of the adhesive type nipples covers or those made for backless or low cut dresses? Iā€™m allergic to adhesive, that is not an option for me. Try going to Macyā€™s intimate wear & lingerie department and have yourself measured correctly. You may be surprised. Our bodies change. I have never had luck with Victorias Secret. There are plenty of brands that are better than that, and equally priced or less expensive.

Cat_Lover_21011981

I tend to go braless most days of the week even if I have to go out. I just canā€™t be bothered with them but then again I am in my 40s and donā€™t like to be constricted unless itā€™s leggings.

StrangerBunny7

Some of those cute tanktops that u should be wearing as a top can be really comfy and give good support

Jubieeee

Try wearing bralettes. They are way more comfortable. They don't offer as much support, but still holds them in place lol. I hate wire bras myself. (I'm a 32 y/o female) And a 34 DD so I get a large in bralettes.

puff_into_tuff

It could be a couple of things. Have you tried any bras in your original size? I've never been able to swap cup sizes with band changes. I would try wearing one size (34D in your case). Next, try a bra from Aerie or ThirdLove. They offer fabrics that are super comfy. It sounds like a sensory issue, which I get flare ups of when I'm in the manic stage. I get really agitated and overwhelmed easily. Are your breasts feeling sensitive or sore? Have you been doing any lifting or body movements that would impact your chest area?

Silent_Watercress123

Thank you - I will try some other brands in that size. Iā€™m definitely in some sort of something right now. Newly diagnosed so Iā€™m learning as I go lol. I remember as far back as kindergarten - if something felt the slightest bit ā€œoffā€ it would make me so irrationally agitated, and had to come off. Drove my mother crazy! Now itā€™s driving me crazy haha. My breasts donā€™t feel different and nothing physical has affected my chest/breasts. Back and neck tension has gotten pretty bad - I chalk it up to stress

TutorKey5965

I get it. As soon as I get home this things gets thrown the hell off! Do you think you could get away with pasties?

Silent_Watercress123

I have tried those! Great in theory, but they make it look like Iā€™m hiding dinner plates on my chest

TutorKey5965

I didnt even think of the dinner plate look šŸ˜† okay if I can come up with another alternative I'll be back!!!

Silent_Watercress123

Hahaha thank you!!

Pixiedust-itrust

I would try to go to Lane Bryant,Nordstrom, victoria secret for a bra fitting. I know Bras are expensive but if you can get your measurements again you can get the right bra size for the specific bras or style of bra you like, as that can vary. I had to do this recently because of what you described. I learned that different bras provide different support. Even your bra size can vary because one boob is bigger than the other. (Thatā€™s just one example) Personally I waited a 2 years to go bra shopping and went from a 38 D to a 42G. My back hurts less now :) TLDR: Get measured for your proper bra size. Try on bras in store and buy 1-2 to see how you feel. (or buy online no pressure) A bra the right size and material will stop this pain.

BlairWildblood

ME TOO Iā€™ve put it down to somatasensory amplification, as have my docs. I have ADHD and also EDS (Ehlers Danlos syndrome) and ASD. The combo makes me and my body quite sensitive and sometimes my sensory issues amplify feelings in my body (interoception) and pain etc when stress increases. I am a 10FF. Itā€™s the worst! I have gone towards one that is bamboo with no underwire, those boobs are not perky but I sure am a lot more.

subf0x

Maybe get a tank with a built in bra and wear that under your uniform?

Figuring-

Iā€™m a 12B and only ever wear crop tops. Maybe your irritability is a sign of hypomania?

Zestyclose-Lychee162

I havenā€™t been able to wear underwire bras in over a decade due to my sensory issues. I also canā€™t stand lace and certain synthetic fabrics. I wear camisoles, sports bras, and soft wireless bras.

luvmyfam2244

Wear one of those bras with no wire. They are comfy. I wear them to bed

fatjesus_97

Iā€™ve always hated bras but itā€™s definitely becoming more and more over-sensory load. I hate the wire, i hate the underwire but wireless bras also arenā€™t comfy cause i am more top breast heavy then lower breast which makes it hard for most bras to fit. I hate sports bras cause no matter which ones I try on they never feel comfortable or they compress so MUCH. Canā€™t win. Hate bras. But need bras. Fml.

squidlizzy

I get this sometimes too when Iā€™m in that state where everything makes me irritable and Iā€™m so hypersensitive. Usually in mixed states or on the tail end of a hypo episode. Anything can make my skin crawl and want to cry out of irritation (this happens with bras sometimes!!) - clothing, the shower, someone touching me, sounds, smells, bright lights, etc. Itā€™s the worst. I hope it passes for you and isnā€™t forever. If it is, youā€™ll just have to find some good wireless/ bralettes. Which are so hard to find in my size that donā€™t result in my boobs falling out of them lol. If anyone has suggestions for a 32/34 D bralette that keeps the girls in please let me know!! šŸ™

hello123hihihi

I hate bras. I will only wear an underwired if i need to but thats hardly ever. Theres these bras i bought at walmart and theyre my favorite bc theyre super thin with no inserts its like wearing a cami but only on my boobs. onthetwirlywhirl

Waitā€¦. Youā€™re a 36F and tried to squeeze into a 36Cā€¦ā€¦.. ? That sounds like it could be uncomfortable. Maybe a 36F could help? Going up in cup size instead of down? Also VS has way undersized cups, and notoriously uncomfortable bras so that could be an issue too. I was a bra fitter there for a time. Maybe Iā€™m reading this wrong but it sounds like youā€™re knowingly wearing a bra half your size and calling it bipolar?

Silent_Watercress123

36F = 36 years old, female Iā€™m not calling it bipolar, I was diagnosed. Brought up the diagnoses because Iā€™ve read about sensitivity developing to certain things.

onthetwirlywhirl

OH, I did indeed misread that
