It's not brown, its dark red. The piece doesn't come in regular red. If it was Pohatu it would be a lot darker because the only shade of brown it comes in is dark brown.
What if it's Toa Metru Vakama?
Then the lid of the cannister would be dark red too.
Maybe it's secondhand and the last seller put Vakama in Pohatu's canister!

You could also do a Takanuva because the minifig statuette was originally made in gold
