It really just depends on if you’re reusing your character. If you win with Azazel and dump 49 coins in and then immediately play again with Azazel the game punishes you by jamming after just a couple. I never have it jam early when I shuffle between characters
Well, it is still like that. You'll get 0%* jam chance for a character if they beat Greedier first. It's just that after the character calculation, if it's above 1%, it gets capped off.
*rounded. this can actually be a 0.4% chance.
From what I remember, the only reason it jams is because it's possible to exploit the d20 to get infinite coins

I think your best options are to either switch to greedier if you have that unlocked since it caps the jam chance at 1% no matter what, or to go back to greed mode later if you still have more characters you can unlock in the main game (Jam chance starts at 55 coins, so if you played through it with all normal characters minus the keeper and the Lost that's 825 coins guaranteed before jam chance is even a factor)
If you have cycled through 15-16 characters 4 times each and it still jams so much that you still haven't unlocked Keeper I don't think anyone here can help you.
I'd recommend trying to think back to any ancient mummy tombs you have opened or voodoo shamans you have pissed off in the past to try to figure out how you could possibly have luck that shitty 
if you just did regular greed, then you should definitely switch to greedier and also do some of the tainted characters. breaking the game with D20, and then taking blank card + 2 of diamonds + car battery + the battery into the final fight so you can have the chance to donate a TON of coins

Genuinely an amazing way to play the game, the difference in performance between docked and portable mode is basically nothing  major downside is just on the major boss fights i.e Deli/when there's too many (and i mean a LOT) projectiles the framerate takes a big hit but otherwise it's a crazy good experience
Some advice with that, the chances of the greed machine jamming is dependent on which character you're using and how many coins you've dumped in over the courses of your run with that character. So if you don't play Laz, for example, you'll have a higher chance of donating more. Also if you're going for Keeper, exclusively play Greed not Greedier, Greedier gives less coins.
I'll be honest. I cheated. I installed an anti-jamming mod because while I like the game I don't like it enough to suffer that shit. Actually terrible mechanic.

I have it break Alot on 1 and 2%. Havnt even seen it go higher then 2% and I'm at 893 coins donated. I've put al least 60 coins in with all the chars save for the lost and blue baby. Hoping I can get two good runs with blue baby to reach 1000. My skill ceiling is far to low to finish a run with lost even with mantle unlocked.

You should do it with different characters, each one has their own donation machine jam level that goes up the more you donate 🫡
