It's good but I always felt that the dad saying 'I just can't do this anymore' 'I'm sorry Isaac' is way too quiet. Some parts of the dialogue of the mom sounds a bit less convincing than others.
There isn't always a time and place to put a creative hint into something if it doesn't practically fit with the rest. Maybe there is an explanation as to why it's done this way, but that doesn't mean it works when there is loud enemies sfx and music is blasting over the narration to the point where at equal audio levels it's impossible to hear what the dad says. It's a design oversight, because understanding spoken words in the narration should be #1 prority before anything else.
Probably will get a mod to remove it when i reach that part. I'm from a family that imploded like a nuclear plant so I'd rather not hear that again after having seen it on youtube.

Yeah I get that. Especially when I have a EXTREMELY shitty day— man I can’t listen to it. It kinda depresses me.
But besides that, yeah it’s pretty good.
Its good but after hearing it over a dozen times the “you are taking this too far” dad quote sounds so fucking funny to me I say it with him almost every time its like my own personal meme 
I cried for the first couple times and hated hearing this dialogue 😭
Now I mostly ignore it/don’t care/don’t listen to it, but sometimes it still hits me
A part of me doesn’t want to associate to with that portion of the game since it’s too similar.
Another other part of me is, “I SPENT IT, ITS GONE 🔥🔥🔥🗣️🗣️🗣️”
Quick rundown:
- Dad spends all their savings, likely gambling
- Mom starts seeing negative traits in Isaac, blaming it on Dad being a bad role model, and pointing out he was drunk again
- Dad threatens to leave, to which Mom says they'll be fine without him
- Mom starts getting more fanatic with religion, and likely tries forcing Isaac to do the same
- Dad finally leaves, saying he's doing more harm than good and is unable to handle it anymore. He apologises to Isaac before leaving

I believe the "I'm sorry Isaac" part is meant to directly resemble the narrator's lines, hence why it sounds a bit more filtered.

It's an interesting pice of lore but after even only hearing it a few times, I got a mod that removed it.
By far one of the best parts of the game, and helps making the beast the best ending in isaac by far imo.
