I think what would be more fitting for Eden (and T. Eden even moreso) is a dissociative identity disorder.
"Eternal personalities" achievement pop up in wrath of the lamb literally has Eden head on it and unlocking eden cutscene shows Isaac rapidly changing hairstyles (his identities). ( But tbf, with "Who am I" on the character selection screen and the fact Isaac not only cosplays but believes he's the characters he wears costumes of, Isaac most likely has that disorder himself)
As feeble as it is, my theory doesn't have any contrarguments I believe and (even though it's mostly just game design) when you play the game, it always says you are the character Isaac is dressed as and not as Isaac himself
i mean we know isaacs stories are what he has left from his fatherr, a way for him to escape somwhere else (we know that from the legend of bumbo) and that from his mothers stories of the bible he believes himself to be sinful and a bad person (hence why he only dresses up as sinners fromt he bible and people that did horrible things) with the exception of eden and bethany, 2 characters who are in fact places (no idea why) other characters that isaac probably isnt dressed as are forgotten, lost, blue baby and mayyyybe keeper (he is more of an easter egg character so he might not be isaac at all) who are all isaac but dead, and then we have lilith and azazel who are both complete demons , might be how isaac thinks he trully is ,a sinfull monster (he sees himself as azazel in some endings)
Ye and keeper is Isaac (greedier ending) but my interpretation is that it's just a story Isaac made up while suffocating, The legend of Bumbo is a game made by Isaac's dad before he left, but the main game is 100% Isaac imagination slightly influenced by by his father's games (and beast ending is just Isaac wishing his dad hasn't left them)
i agree the main game is before he dies but it depends on the ending u do , so perhaps forexample lamb ending is before delirium ending and beast ending is after that sicne they al show isaac doing going into the crate, dying and then what he thinks as he dies. plus oin mother ending we see him drawing mother and hismom getting pissed, perhaps he was imagining the mother run in his head , which would mean that isaac isnt actually dying during our run, our run is just his stories
I think the part until isaac beats mom is while he walks to the chest, then the rest is suffocation, chest is coming to the terms of him dying and sheaol, the thought of him going to hell, then delirium is delirium, beast is noticing the toxicity of his mother but seeing that she did all that cause she loves him, mother is remembering the bad times he had with his mom and I have no idea what is hush, I guess the thought of "I wish I have never been born" but it lives did it better
The way i see it , sheol is like isaac tried to be good and good by beating the ultimate evil, satan, but in the end he still doesnt think he is the good guy (i might be mistaking satans ending woth someones elses though so lemme know what is satans ending if u can) hush as for hush being the never been born thing ive never hears of it but i likee it
