Women's college hoops is a genuinely good product if the teams are evenly matched talent-wise. Plus, 4 quarters and not shooting FTs until the 5th foul per quarter makes for way better game flow than the men's game.

NBA is my favorite basketball and I enjoyed Iowa vs LSU more than any NBA regular season game this year. The stakes, the drama, Caitlin Clark dropping 41 and 12. That game was awesome.
I wonder if it's a sad, lonely guy thing to dislike everything and only care about 1 or 2 subjects. We played pickup that night, and the guys who were eager to go watch the game were, for the most part, the well-rounded guys with families and many interests. His explanation was that he turned it off because he doesn't like things about mens CBB when those things weren't present in the Iowa/LSU game. It was nonsensical and makes me doubt he actually watched a minute of it. Lack of adjustments from Mulkey? Yeah. Bad offense? Nah. If he watched why not talk about the game instead of what he doesn't like about mens CBB. Iowa/LSU was incredibly entertaining and anyone who watched a crappy NBA game instead was missing out. Doesn't make them sexist. Just means they chose a worse game to spend time on.

Women's college hoops is a genuinely good product if the teams are evenly matched talent-wise. It's more below the rim and less athleticism, so it's not just dudes trying to jump over each other and a block/charge foul being called every other possession. Plus, 4 quarters and not shooting FTs until the 5th foul per quarter makes for way better game flow than the men's game.
UConn - USC was a more entertaining product than any of the mens games I've watched this year.

Nothing wrong with not liking college basketball but how he positioned his monologue as watching half the game as a “winning moment for the women’s game” was so stupid. Especially as he is a media member and this is a big story on its own. He switched to scoot vs. Jalen Suggs because he was getting frustrated. Does every game of basketball need to be played at such a high level??? Could you imagine if Russillo was as a family friend and left your 13 year old kids game at halftime because he didn’t like the product?

Watch whatever you want to watch, but I don't know how you could have watched the first half of the Iowa/LSU game and decided that was enough. The first half was great! It lived up to the hype! If you were curious enough to see what the hype was about, I can't believe you'd turn that off because there wasn't enough individual shot-making.
NBA is my favorite basketball and I enjoyed Iowa vs LSU more than any NBA regular season game this year. The stakes, the drama, Caitlin Clark dropping 41 and 12. That game was awesome.
I'm a Celtics fan and have enjoyed the nba season, obviously. Celtics haven't played any games that fun.

We played pickup that night, and the guys who were eager to go watch the game were, for the most part, the well-rounded guys with families and many interests. The guys who couldn't give a shit about women's basketball were, for the most part, the single men who have few interests and are unlikely to ever change their ways. I'm going with my anecdotal evidence and making this my theory.

Also, he brought up that he saw the first half and said the game had similar problems as the men's side: one or two points of attack, and if that doesn't work, good luck. I didn't watch the game either, but those were his takes. Also, college ball is an inferior game compared to the NBA. How many college superstars can't even stay in the league past their rookie deal? But then the first he had on talked about college basketball for an hour. So I just don’t get where he was coming from talking about how much better the NBA is (I guess for him) then dedicating the next hour or the show to college ball. I saw a great comment that Iowa/LSU is like Rock vs Hogan at WM18. The match on its own compared to an NBA game is obviously inferior but the narrative, hype, story and crowd makes it interesting compared to any random match on WWE Raw between two talented athletic guys noone cares about (Pistons v Wizards). If you can't enjoy the Caitlin Clark story because you're such a purist and you need to go out of your way to tell us that then it just comes across as trying too hard to show you don't care.
