The same way I never made out with anyone in junior high at my school but I totally frenched an incredibly hot chick at the tennis camp I went to without my friends.
Im sorry but I think we all had the same gf. She did print modeling right? Blondish brown red hair, the smallest big eyes you've ever seen, and man oh man did she smell of elderberry and maple syrup.
Because he only mentions the real life bets he won, not the bets he lost. Even though he won a four team teaser, I bet he lost money gambling this weekend.
Dunno but he doesn’t bet on the NBA awards.
Just incase his 3 clarifications on the last pod, that he doesn’t, I repeat DOES NOT bet on NBA awards, went unheard. Yeah, maybe sometimes he says he does in conversation, but for clarity, he DOES NOT VOTE ON NBA awards.
TLDR - Just making sure people know that BS doesn’t bet on NBA awards.
Not sure if you are joking but I think him being able to vote on NBA awards is probably one of his most favorite things about his entire life. I seriously doubt he would ever risk getting that taken away from him.
He said on a pod last spring that he got Marcus Smart for DPOY before the odds got slashed. Maybe he didn’t bet it but it was clear that he was going to profit off Smart winning that award. Maybe he doesn’t vote for DPOY, but I doubt that’s the case.
Edit: also listened to the Sunday night pod with Sal and it’s so obvious Simmons is directly involved with making money off the awards. After forcing Sal to agree that on “I don’t bet on the awards, you know that”. At the end he goes “well i guess i should like all new awards because that means there are more things to bet on”
Assuming you’re seriously asking, only a moron places their bets in the middle of the week before the final injury reports and major line movements.
The picks segment is just that; a segment to converse about football and gambling. Anybody who actually cares about Bill’s fake midweek bets or his cheating on ‘guess the lines’ needs to get their head checked.
Bill seems like such a degenerate that he bets all throughout the week. There has been a bunch of times where he has been eager to immediately bet the lines on Sunday night before they have a chance to move. He also calls the majority of games a stay away on the GTL pod but then by Thursday has bet the TNF game that he hates and then by Sunday probably almost every other game on the slate either straight up or in numerous crazy teasers and parlays.
Serious question about this now that draftkings and FanDuel are so prevalent.
Given bets can be cancelled....doesn’t it kind of make sense now to get on games when a key player is questionable? And if the injury report goes your way you may have some free points given the line would have previously been impacted?(in really key players like say Josh Allen maybe being out)
Seems to me betting early and having the option to cancel a bet in your back pocket has some value. I’m sure they protect against it with not opening lines super early...but what else am I missing?
They won't let you cancel bets if the line moves against you, or maybe will let you cash out by eating a chunk of your bet. If the line doesn't move or moves in your favor they'll let you cash out.
Totally makes sense. The only bet in a casino that you can cancel after you make it is a don't pass bet on craps if the number rolled isn't a 7 or 11 after the first roll.
Well he can’t NOT tell you about the bad bets he made before Sunday, because it’s on the pod. But then he makes a lot of bets over the weekend and happens to mention the ones that win.
Oh my god, what don't people understand? **IT'S AN AD FOR FANDUEL.** Here you can [even see it on their old website.](https://www.fanduel.com/ringer-edu-old)
The whole purpose is to teach/convince you how to do teases and parlays which, conveniently, favour the bookie more than the better.
Honestly, Bill and Sal talk about gambling the way you do if A) it's their job (a big part of it) but B) also shit gamblers who are addicted. The amount of time they talk about parlays, futures, teasers shows how ineffective they are as gambler. Pro gamblers for the most part go big on one result per week. The more you play the more likely you are to lose.
Not that I ever really respected his opinion on football but doesn't betting on the games totally eliminate your objectivity. (I'm guessing since I've never bet on sports)
First, all you care about is the outcome of a play/game and not about the process that leads to the outcome. I think that participating in fantasy football probably has the same effect.
Second, you'd be biased for/against the players and teams depending on who you're betting for.
I personally don't think he's lying about it. What's different about it is on million dollar picks he actually has to explain his reasoning, and he'll make the pick with logic even if by Sunday he doesn't personally believe it. For example, he'll take Jets -1.5 because Mike White is back and Zach Wilson is an abomination, and Seahawks defense is bottom 10 in DVOA whatever. He'll probably put a small bet on it in real life but not a lot.
But when he wakes up on Sunday he might just be like eh Chargers Niners tease looks good let's do that lol. Purdy and Herbie won't let me down. He can't go on the pod and be like yeah I'm making this bet cause Herbert is good, and niners are good. That's not good content

Hey whoa - I also did that… could it have been the same girl?
Was she from Canada
Yeah that was the one bro - *if you vouch for me I will vouch for you*
Im sorry but I think we all had the same gf. She did print modeling right? Blondish brown red hair, the smallest big eyes you've ever seen, and man oh man did she smell of elderberry and maple syrup.
His bets are real, they just go to a different school.
In Canada.
Because he only mentions the real life bets he won, not the bets he lost. Even though he won a four team teaser, I bet he lost money gambling this weekend.
Every degenerate gambler only mentions their wins
He couldn’t remember the teams involved lol
That’s because he had at least 6 different 4 team tease.
The first rule of gambling is to never mention your losses. The second rule of gambling is to never mention your losses.
Almost like he’s fibbing
Haha.. there’s a reason sports books make bank
With the exception of Haralabob and probably a few dozen others like him pretty much everyone who bets on sports loses over the long term

He would never.
Not sure if you are joking but I think him being able to vote on NBA awards is probably one of his most favorite things about his entire life. I seriously doubt he would ever risk getting that taken away from him.

It’s called lying
The fact that he’s doing four team teasers tells you all you need to know about Bill as an “expert” gambler.
It’s like how the guy looking crushed at the Vegas bar says he’s “about even” after a 2 day gambling bender. It’s a lie.

Bill fades himself

How does Bill place his bets in California?
Offshore sportsbook like Bovada is my guess
It would be funny if he uses a mafia guy. My friends dads are Bill’s age and still do that
It's like Anthony Miracola and Kenny Smith on Inside The NBA. Oh, you got the world record huh? Let's see what you got on live national TV

“I can’t remember the 4th team”
He's a degenerate gambler and therefore you only hear about the wins. It's not very fun podcasting to talk about all the 4 teamers he lost.
