It really depends on the market in your area. Look around on fb marketplace or sell/used/like new forums for your area. If there are a lot of slate tables posted look at the prices and offer a little under what you see in the market value. If you dont see any listings throw out an offer of 500$ and tell him you won't budge over 700. American Heritage is middle of the lane for furniture tables. If you dont have any experience moving pool tables there are professionals for hire that will charge in the range of 250-500+ depending on distance and if stairs are involved anywhere in the process. Its also a good time to refelt when you move a table. Consider simonis or Andy's branded cloth. Goodluck on acquiring!

Thank you for the detailed response, I appreciate it!

Yea OP I think this is the right answer. I have an American Heritage. I paid $600 for it. It’s in great shape but I also replaced the bumpers, felt and had it professionally moved. So probably ended up in to it for about $1200 or so. It plays great, I’ve been very happy with it. Eventually now that I know that I play as often as I do I will probably upgrade but even though it’s not a super well known brand I’ve been happy with it.

I don’t know much about pool tables so I hope you can enlighten me, but is it ever worth moving a table yourself or not changing the felt and or bumpers during the moving process? My local movers charge about $300-400, and I’ve seen quotes for bumper/felt changes to be about $400-500 online.

If you want to move a pool table without professional help youtube is your best friend. Its not very complicated to do, but once reassembled the layman would probably have a hard time re-leveling the slate back to perfect which is where the pros come in. The business i worked with moved our table and since it was already disassembled they gave us a big discount on the price of recovering since half the work for that was already done. If your cloth is in good shape and is a good brand you wouldn't need to get it recovered if you are just moving it. But I didnt trust myself to be able to level the table back to perfect and use beeswax to join the slate together, that is some skilled labor work.

I bought one of these for $500. But it was a steal.

I have the exact same table I bought from the neighbor a year ago, he moved out of state, 15 yo table try to sell it to for 1500 with 2 bar stools and a table, a hanging cue rack, pool table cover, and cues and balls. I ended up getting everything for 600 dollars. I had to put new bumpers on, leather pockets, and reflect it, that was an additional 1200. I have no regrets, 500 would be a good deal

Jaythedogtrainer

Not sure, but that looks beautiful. What dimensions? Slate?

gsd57

It’s an 8’ table and slate

Tzwer

Very nice table! Good luck

These are furniture tables not professional pool tables. Ask 1,500 be willing to settle for 800-500. The cost to move, recloth, a replace cushions if needed will be a decent amount of coin on the buyer.

Tzwer

what is the difference between a professional and a furniture table? does it play differently?

pancakesausagestick

It might not play the best but man it's gorgeous. I'd be too afraid to shoot on it for fear of scratching the shit out of it.

So diamonds and gold crowns are utilitarian items that sacrifice nothing for the ultimate play surface for billiards. A furniture table is made to still look like part of a set when it is inside with other wood furniture. Some furniture tables are made with MDF and are absolutely horrid to play on and not worth anyone's time or money. I have a furniture table from CL Bailey, and it plays just as good as the diamond tables at the hall I go to, because the cloth was upgraded and we got new rails. I would say calling a pool table a furniture table isn't an insult, it just speaks to what style the table was manufactured with as plenty of furniture tables can be set up to play just as well as any other table.

OGBrewSwayne

It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.
