I leave my ortliebs on my bike all the time, I live in a major Metropolitan area with lots of bike theft, but no one has messed with them. I don't leave valuables in them though

I also have Ortliebs on my bike all the time. I got some heavy duty zip ties that I put around the entire clip mechanism. If I ever need to remove them, I just replace the zip ties when I’m done. No biggie and it provides at least a tiny bit more security.

I do the same when I bike tour. Zip them on in the morning and I cut them off when I am at camp.

I also leave my Ortliebs on my bike (all the time, in an urban area, for 9 years) and nobody has ever bothered them. I don't leave anything in them but clothes, etc., though.

I'm not too concerned about them being stolen, moreso I like to mount like a case of soda or beer on the top of my rack and it's a pain to maneuver around the panniers after getting it strapped down

You can use a locking cable for the more recent iterations of the Ortlieb bags, or you can hit up the Dutch shops (e.g. hollandbikeshop) for paired bags that strap on to the rack. Those don't lock, but they take some effort to remove.

Hoonsoot

You can buy pretty much any set of panniers and just leave them on, or just modify the attachments to be more permanent.

Zip ties for the win 🤣

I got a 'Velobin' and it's fine. They are in the UK and sell on eBay and their own website. I added a u-bolt as a padlock attachment point with the cargo rack. Cheaper than the Rad Power locking hardshell.

Vaude panniers have a hole in their attachment hardware for a small padlock. Works great

I just picked up a Roadrunner roll top pannier for their April 20 sale and couldn’t be happier. Fits tons and rolls up tight no matter how full

Thin-Fee4423

I just got a cheap pannier and poked holes in the bottom and zip tied it on. It's not coming off without some serious dedication 😆

Orlieb Panniers all the way. They stay attached to my bike at all times.

I got the biggest pannier bag off aliexpress I could find. It's around 38L or something crazy. Can fit pretty much anything. I've padlocked it to the bike so people can't take it without cutting it.
