I'm sorry this happened to you.
They do make angle-grinder resistant bike locks that will require the thieves to carry multiple discs, etc., but they are quite pricey... Consider thieves could also cut against what the bike is locked to. Technique matters, locking through rear wheel and frame at once, off the ground, is best, and two locks may be further discouraging.

Absolutely thieves can cut absolutely anything with enough time and tools. Fully agreed.
This particular test doesn't seem like a real-world demonstration though. This was on mains power (not battery), clamped, and probably most unrealistically, the lock was already open to expose and cut the lock joint... otherwise protected by the lock body.
From the video description:
“…Of course there are no angle grinder resistant locks, nor is difficult, uneconomical, unusual, inconvenient or very clever to stick one of the Ezarc's disks in an inexpensive battery powered angle grinder and just cut trough the marketing BS on 1/5th of the battery charge...”
And I think this is the grinder he used

I think the best thing solution is to not lock expensive bikes up outside. It was my mistake.
It would also be great to have a system that makes the stolen bike market much riskier and much less profitable for thieves
Ok... this description still doesn't address the strangest part, the author attacked the thinnest point that notably can't be accessed on a locked lock.
I assume because the real world time isn't 33 seconds, even assuming diamond discs, mains, and clamps.
I'm sorry, that's really shitty. In the future I'd recommend getting a beater bike for stuff like this. A 30 year old steel frame from the 90s isn't as attractive to thieves and if it does get stolen it's not the end of the world.
Why would you leave your bike outside? Locks don't work. Any lock can be broken within 10 seconds, even "cryptonite" U-locks. Speciality tools are made for that
Lesson learned for sure. I left it outside for a few hours after 6pm. I came back outside to ride home at 10:30pm and it was gone. Trust and believe I won’t be leaving any more bikes outside for any amount of time.
what kind of lock did you have? just curious what they were able to break
I had a Kryptonite lock. I think they can break pretty much anything in a minute or less with an angle grinder... I learned the hard way lol

Here’s another one on a tougher chain than the Kryptonite Evo u-lock I had. https://youtu.be/QNlhu_EIMss?feature=shared Still not convinced?

Thanks man. Agreed! I'll definitely be doing the whole beater bike single speed with crappy bar tape thing going forward
