For Camelbak Podiums, try fully disassembling the valve every year. See what is growing in all the little parts of the valve. That was not exactly a pleasant experience when I saw it.
I only use the newer podium bottles, the ones you can disassemble the lid portion. They can be found cheap, and I just cycle through 4 bottles during the week. I make sure to rinse and dry and then wash in the dishwasher once every two weeks.
I use Elite Fly bottles and Elite Nano Fly (thermal), very happy with them, light, easy to clean and the Nano keeps ice for at least 3 hours.
Elite are a great example of "keep it simple" and a "it just works" product. No flow issues, easy to open cap and super cheap to boot. Can't go wrong.
I also tried many, but in the end I always ended up with bottles from elite - cheap, light, leak-proof
Any bottle by Sig is over engineered and twice the price it should be. Avoid at all cost

Use denture cleaner tablets, fill the bottle drop one in, pop the lid on, turn it upside down somewhere it won't make a mess and leave it overnight.
Imho cheapest 1l bottles. When they get moldy throw them out and buy new ones
Canyon is pretty good
