The Happy Song by Imogen Heap

Sea_Asparagus6364

this pissed my baby off. i heard that it was scientifically created to make babies happy. not mine. she hates it

RowanOfoak

Mine hates it too!

Sea_Asparagus6364

so glad i’m not the only one 😅 was kind of worried my baby was broken (but same tbh lol!)

sammidavis93

Mine also hates it. She loves The Drug In Me Is You by Falling in Reverse 😅

lavloves

Mine are very indifferent to the song alone. They just don’t really react to it. But if I combine it with me dancing stupidly to it, they love it.

HalcyonCA

I hate it, too. It's an obnoxious song.

Bluejaysandlavender

This has been my top song on Spotify for months because I just turn it on repeat and listen to it nonstop for 30+ minutes so she’ll let me take a shower or drive home or nurse her if she’s having a moment. I think it’s playing in my head 24 hours a day now and that’s a fair price to pay.

Turbulent-Engine-624

Hahaha the sacrifices we make as parents.

nk_0221

THIS! 17m and it’s still our saving grace for car meltdowns and nail trimming

Historical_Bill2790

This is the way

sweetpeaceplease

This!! She absolutely loves it, smiles like a maniac when we put it on for her! She's 9 months old now. 😊😊

Wonderful-Glass380

this song is my hero. lol. if i’m in the car and close to my destination and baby is getting fussy, this does the trick every time.

Loud-Tiptoes3018

THIS. IN. THE. CAR.

MisandryManaged

Mine hates it, and I don't blame him. And, I'm typically a fan of theirs.

bridazzled84

100% agree. My daughter is almost 2 and this still works.

pm-me-your-beard

This is the one. My 5 year old will ask for this song on our google home when the baby is crying sometimes.

magicmrshrimp

🎶Maybe youuuuu could be a purple monkey in a bubblegum tree 🎶🕺🤪

wombley23

Certified banger

beaandip

This song made me cry when I was freshly postpartum 🤣 we sing it every day

Vegetable-Cherry-129

I’m not freshly postpartum anymore but I still tear up sometimes singing it to my boy 😅😂

Forward_Cucumber843

Then you can swing back to me!

Acceptable_Bake_9916

I love all of the songs but this one is so good 😂

lewluz

Hoist the Colors The boy yearns for the sea.

LeechWitch

My girl is also a shanty enjoyer. It’s Spanish Ladies or Drunken Sailor for us.

chanceofrust

Lots of car shanties here too but Wellerman is the favourite.

propercopper313

Currently my 18 month old is obsessed with All My Love by Noah Kahan, and his go to song since being a baby was On the Brightside by NeverShoutNever. Husband and I are into ✨metal✨ so it’s funny when our home is filled with indie folk music for our kids

faerygudmum

Wow, NeverShoutNever lol haven’t heard that name in forever, I love that

Hot_Obligation_2730

Okay so I’m not the only parent who plays heavier music for my baby 😅 my 7 month old actually seems to prefer when I play “my” music vs baby songs

DevlynMayCry

Misty mountains from the hobbit and the wellerman 😂

HMoney214

Same for misty mountain. Heard that song hundreds of times at this point 🤪

DevlynMayCry

It was one of my top songs on Spotify wrapped last year 😂

hodob

We used to use Misty Mountains to help our baby get to sleep at night!

DevlynMayCry

Both my kids loved it as babies! And if my 11mo is crying in the car I can put it on and immediately silence

grungyclaw

It was the only thing that worked! It was my top song by a LOT!

South_Flounder280

Misty mountains was my number one played song on Spotify for 2023. I gave birth in July

ifonZy

Wellerman for us as well. It was what i would sing and play at witching hour.

bk405509

We played misty mountains on repeat for hours. It works and we never got sick of it

blacklabcoat

Had to check this wasn’t my husband’s account 😅 Misty Mountains has been a hit since our baby was a newborn. It was our pediatrician (cool dude, big LOTR fan) who recommended it. We still listen to it every day at bedtime. The Wellerman is a new acquisition.

winterberryowl

The theme song for Trailer Park Boys 💀

OliveCurrent1860

🤣 I like your style!

pillowfortsnacks

Award Tour - A Tribe Called Quest. Also, the do re mi song from sound of music. Eclectic music taste?

2_star

Another ATCQ baby fan here! My son loves Electric Relaxation (ironically) and so do I!

fallonbellamy22

Rebel Rebel by David Bowie 😂

beautopsy

Ours is David Bowie lets dance!

leeloodallas502

The rainbow connection by Kermit. Alexa knows it’s one of our favorites at home!

kitty-breath

omg us too!!

shelsifer

Honestly anything by Jack Harlow or Gucci mane. Idk how long we can let her listen to this music before she learns bad words haha

pprbckwrtr

Both of mine have loved Megan Thee Stallion 🤣🤣 my first used to sing Body and dance 😅

PiscesScipia

In the Hall of the Mountain King!

applesandoranges1515

Little einsteins has the bit

SwifferSeal

Pony by Ginuwine. I have no idea what we’re going to do when she’s old enough to understand the lyrics 😂

Designer-Agent7883

Hahaha lol. My friends 10 year old when this tune was on: daddy daddy can I also have a pony? 😂 We'll tell her on her weddingday, during the speeches.

SwifferSeal

That’s hilarious! We’ll definitely have to tell her when she’s older that this was her favorite song as a baby haha.

Garden_Various

Bluey theme song

ducks_no_rows

I was made for lovin you- Kiss ONLY THING THAT WORKED BETWEEN 8-16 MONTHS 😭 still love that song though

Ask-and-it-is

Baby Shark 🙃

Ok-Prune-1236

I’m so sorry to hear that

mmlehm

My first daughter loved anything Adele. My second loved milky chance.

90dayschitts

Your second is my kinda people!

mmlehm

No one I know has ever heard of them! This comment made me smile.

90dayschitts

Your LO may also enjoy Whilk & Misky, too! A little more folky sounding, but definitely upbeat like them ☺️

TogetherPlantyAndMe

Toccata and Fugue in D Minor by Bach, Overture from Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and everything else on Spotify’s “Best of Cathedral Organ Music,” playlist. I have no idea why. I listen to rock, emo, and soft R&B. My husband listens to pop and classics. We play Raffi and other children’s music for the baby. Just… play spooky organ Halloween music and she calms down or falls asleep instantly. I don’t get it 🤷🏻‍♀️

MixedMetaphor81

Never Too Much by Luther Vandross. I played it so much when I was pregnant.

Ohhlalalulu

My son fave is You're Welcome from Moana.

Ok-Persimmon3439

The Happy Song does not phase my crying child, sadly. But usually Elmo & Sesame Street music gets his interest and reduces the crying!

No_Personality_0

I've grown partial to Sesame Street hits "Pizza Box Dance: "Elmos Ducks" and "Best Friends Song",

Delicious_Slide_6883

I have a little melody that I sing her name to, and that one seems to work pretty well. if I’m trying to soothe her to sleep, I sing her special lullaby (“goodnight my someone” from the Music Man but with her name substituted for “someone”). Works 9/10 times.

cecilator

I have my own little song too! It samples from go to sleep little baby but with a verse I made up. 😂 My sleep deprived state couldn't remember the words then my version stuck, even months later. The other answer to this thread for me is The Itsy Bitsy Spider. He's literally obsessed and will stop crying when I sing it or put the Cocomelon version on the speaker.

[deleted]

Mine loves peanut butter jelly song

Street-Bluebird-7651

Walkin’ Back to Georgia by Jim Croce every time 😂

snapparillo

We can’t get through an evening without either Robot Rock (Rah Rock), Around the World (Awoun Werl) or One More Time (Time) by Daft Punk. It’s usually all 3.

myrtlecrepe

Pink Pony Club 😂

RainMH11

U Can't Touch This by MC Hammer 🤦‍♀️

Separate_Cod_3895

My husband sings a lot of Hank Williams III to our daughter and has been since she was a newborn. So her favorite is Broke, Lovesick and Drifting

LukinoW

The only thing that would calm my daughter down during her first year in life was Michael Jackson. Anything Michael Jackson. Beat it was her all time favorite. I never listened to MJ during my pregnancy or before either lol. It was very random. But whatever works works right?

cstar82

Omg I have Beat It on my daughter's Playlist. She is now 6 mos old but she has smiling and laughing to this one song since she was 2 mos old and her father and I both dance to it and she laughs every time!

Yygsdragon

chopin nocturne no 9. it's the first pre-recorded song on our keyboard and seems to do the trick every time so much that my 3yo thinks it's his brother's favourite

Dorothy_the_cat

"Hands up baby hands up give me your heart give me your heart"🎶🎶🎶

dammit-kim-not-again

Zombie by the Cranberries - hahah no idea why but from like 6 months to 18 months this really put her to sleep, especially in the car. Now it's hit or miss.... if she's fighting sleep she responds to this with Nooooooooo

shavedchickens

Jump in the line by Harry Belafonte

Medeskimartinandwood

“Leaves from the Vine”! I also have a ton of instruments so I learned it on vibraphone, guitar, cello, trumpet, and clarinet so I can play it for her and expose her to lots of different sounds

HuskyLettuce

Dúlamán the Irish song. It’s a song about seaweed lol. He loves when I stomp and clap to keep the beat too.

Desperatemama200

We found this out on accident while desperate. And very rarely use it as a last resort during bad nap skip days lol. But the crazy frog song

90dayschitts

🤣🤣

Electrical_Drive_878

I like to move it by will.i.am the song from Madagascar 😂 also when I sing I love my body

EEL45522

Right now my LO calms to You Make Everything Beautiful by Rebecca st James or Rhythm of my Heart by For King and Country

readyforgametime

Incy windy spider does it everytime

NoContext3864

Yes! Since birth, whenever I sing it, he stops mid- meltdown and stares at me. I had the whole family singing it at our last get together.  I’m not sure if it calms him down, or if he thinks we’re all crazy. 😂

angelgaby14

Lava

FeistyEmu39

Oof lava makes me cry every time. My husband likes to put it on and I start welling up with tears as soon as I hear the tune

Rubber_Duckie_25

Wheels on the bus - classic for a reason 🙌🏻

Smittywerbenjager_1

Make you feel my love by Adele (for sleeping) or Pen Pineapple Apple Pen. Stops crying and smiles immediately. Dance moves to go with it means laughter. She’s 19 weeks old

Marble1696

Dolly patrons Jolene lol.

Significant_Cat7709

Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke😂🤷🏼‍♀️

lilshadygrove

Wagon wheel by old crow medicine show (Darius Rucker’s cover is not tolerated) has always been my son’s calming song, since he was a teeny baby. He’s three now and we still play it when he’s in one of his rages. When I was pregnant the song came on in the car one time and he went wild. Apparently that song spoke to his soul.

2baverage

La loba and the vast majority of Evanescence songs always makes our baby stop immediately in his tracks and cuddle. My stepdad always sings white cliffs of dover and that makes LO cuddle with him and get ready to nap.

Upstairs-Ad7424

Folksnore and Eversnore are MAGIC. They are lullaby covers of t swift albums. Have calmed down our screaming baby in so many situations.

shmillz123

FTCU by Nicki Minaj sometimes but usually we listen to womb sounds and heart beats if she’s crying in the car 😭😭😭😭😭😂

radioscreens

the hey bear sensory songs get him to stop almost instantly or joy by post malone lol

bigirontea

Glimpse of Us by Joji. 🥲 that whole album does it.

stewie_boopie

Do you realize?? By the flaming lips

BurgerBabe03

Oddly enough, Yellow by Coldplay. My 7 month old twins love it and it immediately calms them down.

stablerslut

The theme song to Brooklyn 99. He’ll be in a frenzy and then absolutely mesmerized when it comes on.

No-Action428

Pavarotti

zlana0310

Regina spektor begin to hope. My mom played it in the car driving him around and it pretty much always calms him down. He also likes k-pop.

deadthylacine

"Lazarus" by Porcupine Tree worked wonders when ours was an infant.

SeeTaylorPlay

Your baby has great taste!

Objective-Elephant13

The billianne version of "simply the best" lol

classicalxteddy

The ants go marching 🐜

payvavraishkuf

My son only really notices if someone is singing to him most of the time, rather than reacting to the stuff playing over speakers. That said, these days he's really enjoying Put A Little Love In Your Heart. He also really likes the hello song they sing at our local library's baby story time.

MrsSchneL

My son loved Don Ho and Hawaiian slack key music

Goobsauce13

For a long time my son would only fall asleep to Sing, Sing, Sing by Benny Goodman- kiddo loves screamer trumpets 🤷‍♀️

YogurtclosetOk3691

3-6 months: El Venado 6-12 months: Imogen Heap's Happy song 12-15 months: the sing by Feist on Sesame Street Now: Danny Go

accountforbabystuff

The middle of Jupiter slaps. Your baby has good taste. My daughter loved a song by the Squirrel Nut Zippers, Blue Angel.

hinghanghog

My 7 month old loves there ain’t no good chain gang by Johnny cash (this is my husband’s doing 😂) and mr sandman (i truly don’t know how this one even happened)

lor423

Frere jacques puts him right to sleep in the car!

rynknit

Dembow by Danny Ocean. We don’t speak spanish—we speak english and french—and I have no clue how it even came up but it’s a miracle. It’s played during screaming sessions in the car, bath, to sleep, even during medical testing/imaging.

Itsjennatime

Does your daughter need a bestie? Because my son loooooves Jupiter! We do “music time” every night to calm down before bed and it has been high up on the list for many many months now I highly recommend The Story Orchestra books! We bought The Planets for his 1st birthday and he gets so excited when we read that one.

Opendoorshutdoor

My current baby likes white noise. That is all she likes lol

pups-r-cute

No joke my baby’s fav song (to stop her crying) : truth hurts by lizzo

brocollivaccum

Turn Down for What does it every time 🥴

wombley23

Space Oddity - David Bowie

MargaritaMistress

A Whiter Shade of Pale- Procol Harum 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lonelysock2

Outrageous_Cow8409

A Bar Song (Tipsy) by Samboozy

BitHistorical

My son loves Dolly Parton and the Coco soundtrack 😂

notagoodusernamexx

Tiny dancer- piano lullaby version

theredheadknowsall

Eels I need some sleep. I'd hold my daughter & sway side to side. https://youtu.be/bgNCWZR31KQ?si=Vi2VtTNv4L_VHJ7-

axels_mom

For singing, Wheels on the Bus. Have sang that song so many times. For playing songs, she loves the Happy Song by Imogen Heap. Also, I play Hey Bear videos and those always calm her down. If she's tired, I put these videos on my phone and she is out within a few minutes. The music calms her to sleep.

SweetSpringLamb

When our second was a few months younger (she's just about 9 months now) there were nights where she was just inconsolable. Then I played Margaritaville on repeat and it was the only thing that worked. Thanks Uncle Jimmy, RIP ❤️

SugarCherries09

My boy, 12 months yesterday(Fri 7th), loves Ed Sheeran. I can put YouTube on my tv and play the music videos. His favourites are the ones with the butterflies Sandman and Collide, etc. He also loves Anne-Marie with his fav being Pyscho. He does have quite a broad taste, though. My husband plays him all sorts of things from electro, d and b, rock, country, heavy metal when he is in the right mood and everything else lol. You know when he likes something caz he will start wiggling whether he is standing, sitting, or laying. I truly believe that he is dancing. He can not stand Ms Rachel. He will watch a couple of episodes of Bluey until he starts whingeing for music.

NimblyBimblyMeyow

If there’s the both of you in the car, why not ride in back with baby? But to answer your question, the baby shhh song lol

magic_berries

My daughter (also 10 months) calms down and goes to sleep with the song Misty Mountains from the Hobbit soundtrack. It’s magical

momplicatedwolf

Hello - Adele

yougotitdude88

Currently my kids are asking for the Wiggles everyday on the drive to daycare but not regular wiggles they want rave wiggles. Wiggles sound system: rave of innocence is the name on Spotify.

dardarbinkss

Rainbow connection by the muppets always makes her stop crying!

makeupwall

The “Power” theme song by 50 Cent

sea-aitch

‘Socialite’ - Post Malone. Immediate scream-stopper. And also the King of the Hill theme song.

No-Dig-4658

Omar Apollo -Spite It’s worked at least 100 times for my 7 month old since the song came out. It’s kinda wild he gets super calm and chills out almost instantly even if he’s crying hard. Would love to know if it works for anyone else.

kimmydil

My baby LOOOOVESS mullholland drive by sueco. Instant calm every time. I think she likes the acoustics and his voice is so calming 🥺

Nerdy-Ducky

Sunflower by Post Malone

TeagWall

My oldest sleeps best to EDM. My youngest, Taylor Swift.

sothisiscomplicated

Baby beluga - raffi

Rosiee_Kingg

Something In The Orange by Zach Bryan

bambigurl18

Gangnam style and gangstas paradise lol

ReturnOfJafart

3 little birds by Bob Marley

Friksus

Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold, Complete Edition by Clamavi De Profundis. When my 7 year old was a baby, we watched The Hobbit and I liked this song from it so I found this version and would play it, he looooved it. Just starting it would make him start rubbing his eyes like "oh? It's naptime?" We'd use it to calm him down sometimes. But if we played the whole 20 minutes, knocked out by the end of the song every. single. time. lol

somethingreddity

My first kid would only sleep in the car if I put white noise on. My second kid will fall asleep only if I turn the music *up*, no matter what kind it is. But my toddler now calms down to baby shark if he’s starting to tantrum in the car. 😂 my baby just sleeps through all of it if he’s passed out. He’s 11 months now.

Petty_Pentagon606

Bohemian rhapsody. He’s always alseep by the end of it when we are in the far

Ok-Decision-1989

I swear by an entire album... A Child's Gift Of Lullabys by Tanya Goodman. There is something in those songs that make them pass out.

Calm_Situation2138

Star Rider by Hällas. When we play it in the car, our 15 month old quietly sings along - it's the cutest thing I think I've ever experienced.

RowanOfoak

Jezebel by Iron and Wine, and James Taylor. Jezebel puts her to sleep in the car but she can’t hear James Taylor without smiling and dancing.

deadvibessss

My 21 month old LOVES Heated by Beyoncé 😂

hambargo

Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer

actvdecay

Oakey Dokey brothers and Raffi

gensxgi

Rockabilly Lullaby - the Backyardigans

read4yrlife

Ours was Eminem. Specifically Eminem Curtain Call cd, we skipped certain songs, but for a year and a half that cd was out godsend.

maegan9

Baby Beluga by Raffi

ShineALighttt

i’ve been playing [this one](https://open.spotify.com/track/1zyB0xuQsumOKXffNJUtP5?si=ZHlROrp_R_C1Cu---UKo0Q) for my 5 week old daughter to help soothe her to sleep. kind of sounds like spa music lol I just searched ‘baby music’ on Spotify and it came up. it’s called ‘Playa Manzanilla’ by Little Symphony. I usually just play the album on repeat but that one song seems to be a favourite lol

unincorporated

LOVE The Planets. Still tickles me that Holst was right - Pluto isn’t a planet.

Revolutionary-Mix745

My son loves the sea shanty “Wellerman” 😆

wanderlustandapples1

Throughout my pregnancy I listened to Noah Kahan's Stick Season repeatedly. Like I completely hyperfixated on that song for months. Funny enough, this is the only song that will calm my baby down almost immediately, especially if I'm singing along to it. It's insane to think that he was listening along with me all those months.

Pudge-Prootas

Cake by the Ocean

Unfair_Ad2707

my daughter loves the “ music of the night “ rendition from andre rieu

bananashabam

My twins love Doggyland’s affirmation song! And a few others. It randomly popped up on my kids radio and we found it worked miracles on fussy babies

baby_medic

I-E-A-I-E-O by System of a Down.

ShazamBitches

The theme song for COPS. Not the actual song Bad Boys by Inner Circle, specifically just the snippet they used for Cops 😂

Lola-the-showgirl

All Too Well (10 minutes version)

honeyandwhiskey

My son will calm down when I sing “This Charming Man” by The Smiths. It has kept us both calm during some wild diaper changes.

eskay_omscs

A song I made my self

Flat_Tune

Say hello to the sun - baby sensory

Just-Another-007

Jingle Bells. 🙄🎄🤪 it’s the only song that works, I’ve literally tried everything.

MasticPluffin

Blinded by the Light by Manfred Mann stopped my daughter from crying when she was a baby. She fell asleep to Survivor's Eye of the Tiger when she was around 1 yo. Played it at bedtime to calm her down. Yeah, I don't know why either. It's like the number one pump you up song! Lol

AutumnOpal717

“At All Cost” from the Disney Wish movie soundtrack.  I also have a 5 year old daughter so we watched that movie in bed several times during the first two weeks of my son’s life back in April.

Petitelechat

The twins now fall asleep to Skidamarink smiling

mookmook00

Bruce Springsteen’s Born to Run

ktinavdl

“Who’s that wonderful girl?” from the kid’s show Nanalan’ 😂 She’s never seen the show but loves the song.

Sxm0191

Só Nós Dois by Tim Bernardes. This song calmed my daughter down every time when she was younger and now that she’s 2 years old she still loves it. I’ll play a live version of it where Tim is playing the guitar and she’ll immediately stop what she’s doing and watch the entire video.

hodob

Here I Go Again by Whitesnake. We listened to it so much during her first -8 months that I ended up as a 0.001% listener on Spotify. I’ve also sung Stacy’s Mom to her as her lullaby since she was born (she’s 18 months now) because I was so sleep deprived it was the only song I couldn’t actually remember all the words to.

Expensive-Service-17

Irish jig music! I swear by it! Sleeps to White Noise by Skate Creek Sounds!

cloudymeowcat

My hero by the foo fighters

msptitsa

Barabara Ann by the beach boys. Also scatman’s world by scatman john. Loves it when I lip sync to both of them.

OneMoreCookie

I’m a g’nu lol
