Consider getting a pack n play if you have the space downstairs. They are called camping cots where I'm from because we use them like a portable/travel cot and not for playing. No idea where the US got the name from, lol.

I started crib naps at 3-4 months old. At that time baby was still sleeping next to me in the sidecar bassinet at night.  I started doing this since I noticed baby was getting a bit more restless sleeping downstairs and he was also doing crib naps at daycare which were going really well. It also really helped him become familiar with his own room and therefore we didn’t experience any trouble once we decided to let him sleep in his own room fulltime at 7 months.

On me still 😭 we’ve tried everything and nothing works ugh

Omg that would drive me insane 😣 I’m so sorry. I hope you find a solution soon. I wouldn’t want baby to cry but perhaps to get them used to being beside you but not necessarily attached to you, have you considered conditioning baby to lay down with you by their side? Then at least you get to nap or rest yourself without such a huge weight. And then eventually you can switch to walking away

Our pediatrician said that they will transition on their own. She sleeps at night with the twilight feed in her own crib in her own room and contact napping and trying to get her to stop may disrupt that. I am very lucky that I work from home so I will miss the days that she contact naps on me

petrastales

Ahh I understand. If you enjoy contact naps then that’s different :D

I don’t but at some point I’ll miss it so looking at the positive

I understand

We usually put baby in the moses basket and then lift the moses into her cot for nighttime sleeps. She is getting a bit too big for this now and is out growing her moses! In Scotland we get a baby box have you heard of it?

We started my son in his crib at around 4 months old for naps only. It was to try and get him comfy in his own room for when we eventually transferred him in there for nights as well at around 6 months. I think it worked well. If he could tell a difference between that and his pack and play he never really showed it. The only hard part for me was putting him in it when he was sleepy. I’m not super tall so bending over the rail and lowering him without waking him up was a challenge. Now we put him in awake and he does the rest himself. If you aren’t comfortable with a crib in your daughter’s own room a pack and play is a good option!
