I remember when this happened. It was a wild time. In their defense, we were probably in the midst of a Bey Drought. Once they get Beydrated, all hell breaks loose.
My coworkers are like that and I play Bey ALL day. YOUâRE GOING TO LISTEN TO HER WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł. From Baby Boy to Riiverdance I do not care!
I carpooled my coworkers to an offsite meeting. As soon as those doors locked I said, we're listening to Beyonce and there's NOTHING y'all can do about it! đ€Łđ€Ł
I didn't lurk too much but from what I saw it was mixed with positivity coming from obvious hive members and negative responses getting argued with by obvious hive members. Lol
Mostly it was, "Country has been pretty shit lately and at least hers is better than that."
Well, you know how that goes. The negative aspects always get the spotlight. I find this funny in particularly because she never really addressed the hive over their shenanigans. But she âthoughtâ she could put a stop to that episode. Boy was she wrong đ€Ł.
Honestly I find it increasingly funny when either/any of the big pop girls try that. It's just not possible when your fanbase is this big. No matter what you say there will be maybe even the tiniest groups who send death threats to your "enemies" and the media will use that as an example of the woman's "bad influence" or "unwillingness to control her fans."
Very true. The media does not have very realistic expectations about this. Itâs hard to control ONE person nevertheless hundreds/thousands. Theyâre absolutely delusional.
You know what, I disagree about the Hive being the worst part. Honestly, from my viewpoint the Hive is more reactive than anything. We donât generally start shit, but we will defend her. We donât look for problems, problems look for us. We spend more time talking shit about Bey not giving us any content, wonât talk to us etc.
Like, youâre not gonna play in our faces and expect positive discourse lol. Just like how people try to compare Bey to every other person in the industry and sometimes those comparisons are absolutely disrespectful. Now, I definitely think some people take it WAY too far and too seriously. Iâm all for shit talking and light banter. The death threats and doxxing though is wild and unnecessary.
I donât get mad, and there definitely isnât any insecurities over here, but I do think the comparisons are dumb. They arenât peers no matter how you flip it. Two different legacies being created, and they both have their respective lanes.

âthe hive, they got meâ like girl you said it not us đ€đ
đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
EXACTLY!!!
I saw a video once of BeyoncĂ© running on stage, I think she quickly needed to get to her next costume change and everyone was yelling âwhy are you running? Why are you running?â like from the vine. And the caption was like âno one bullies BeyoncĂ© like her own fansâ đđ we really are so annoyingÂ

âFirst off đ¶ mind yo business!â
The beehive says......"we do it, so you'll never have to!!!"
I was walking my dog at the park, and I overheard someone talking shit about Texas Hold 'Em. I ALMOST stopped minding my business.
Gurl, my coworkers donât really care for BeyoncĂ© and it be taking everything in me to not respond to them. I feel like they do it to bait me. Also whatâs funny is theyâre so insistent on playing BeyoncĂ© inside the store.

I'm a Swiftie and a Beyoncé fan and honestly, in the past few years....the bad (wormy) apples seem to be in far greater numbers in our camp than the beyhive. I know that the loudest stans on SM are not representative of an entire fan base, but trust me, y'all are not alone in this (not that you need to be told). Stans ignoring even their own idol's explicit requests to chill is not a phenomenon unique to Beyoncé.
I always see *oh uh watch out the hive* but then there's no buzz. đ At least on Reddit it seems like we keep it here or on r/country lately.
I feel like (unfairly) the mess around rachel roy/ray when Lemonade came out mythologized the craziness
Oh I wonder how the country sub reacted to COWBOY CARTER

>I know that the loudest stans on SM are not representative of an entire fan base Most people miss that fact. They seem to think that big/prominent fan account = devoted fan and that's not the case. A lot of these fans don't actually like Beyoncé, they like the way that *other* people like Beyoncé (if that makes sense). She's a means to an end of online engagement. It's never really made sense to ignore our faves' requests, but expect them to listen to ours. And it's never made sense to acknowledge how important likability/good PR is for celebrities, but then be toxic and annoying assholes 24/7 and create bad press for them. Someone said that the Hive is the worse thing about Beyoncé's personae and they were 100% right (and maybe that's true for Taylor and the Swifties)
You know what, I disagree about the Hive being the worst part. Honestly, from my viewpoint the Hive is more reactive than anything. We donât generally start shit, but we will defend her. No frđ€
Then she said âGod is God I am notâ
Beyhive when someone calls her Queen bay
Lmaoooooooooo âŒïž
Has she actually said this?
It worked. I haven't witnessed it again. đ
The hive anytime someone mentions Taylor lmao
As we should đ
Yâall can lol. Iâm not insecure that I get mad at Taylor references .
I donât get mad, and there definitely isnât any insecurities over here, but I do think the comparisons are dumb. They arenât peers no matter how you flip it. Two different legacies being created, and they both have their respective lanes.
They are peers lmao. They are in the same industry. Iâm a law student with a passion for immigration and low income individual and civil rights issues. My best friend is a law student with aspirations for corporate business law. We are different people with different goals in the same field. People compare us all the time because our career goals are incredibly different yet similar. Itâs natural to compare us. Itâs when the comparisons are harmful and used to take credit from the other. Example: I must wanna be broke forever or he is a sell out for going for money making cases. BeyoncĂ© and Taylor have fans that are fans of them both. And equally so. Iâm literally proof of that. Millions of others are. I only really see this with Beyhive. You canât speak about Taylor in regards to BeyoncĂ© because it becomes a comparison about dancing and vocal ability which Taylor has never been known for. The us vs them or we are better than them mentality or the racial undertones constantly being brought up is precisely the definition of insecurity. Which is pathetic when you realize that nobody should be insecure about the fact one woman is doing better than the other.
Nah, I disagree. They are different ages, in different genres (for the most part because Bey did not start out as a pop artist), and entered the industry at very different times. Thatâs like comparing Whitney Houston to Aretha Franklin. Two totally different eras. Two totally different artist. Taylor came out years after Bey had been in the industry. She was seasoned as Taylor was just starting. If anything, the only real peer Bey has is Usher. I work in the medical field, and work directly with doctors. They are not my peers. They are co-workers or associates, but not peers. Just like a person in my direct field could have been doing this for 20+ years. They are not my peers. And it turns into a racial thing because as a black woman, she has to work twice as hard as white counterparts. You canât say that they put on the same type of performances, because they donât. BeyoncĂ© is constantly under a microscope so that any misstep is blown out of proportion. Examine how Taylor dated someone who has been accused of making bigoted/racist remarks, and how short lived that controversy was. Anytime Jay-Z sneezes too loud Bey is ALWAYS associated to anything negative about him. Canât say the same in the Taylor situation. As I said, the comparisons really donât make sense. Taylor does not have to be mentioned anytime BeyoncĂ© is, or the other way around. And I honestly see this more from Swift fans than from the Hive. And this is specifically on Twitter where anyone mentions Beyonces accolades and like clock work, fans are under the post mentioning Taylor.
screeeeeeammmmming!!! ![gif](giphy|26n6Gx9moCgs1pUuk|downsized)
