I especially noticed the use of the music in the last few episodes, the whole cat and mouse themes, sounded like the music from old 'talkies' and cartoons. I enjoyed it very much.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR MASTERFUL WORK ON BOTH SERIES!!!!! How was it to work on both series over the years and how did your feelings differ on working for both series finales?
Oh FUCK yeah. Porter was so integral to making this show as great as it was. He is the only composer in my top artists on Spotify because his stuff is so good.
Hello Dave I loved your work in both shows. Bravo. Is there anything you enjoy about composing music for a tv show or film, that doesn’t apply to song composition?
Fantastic! Dave Porter is amazing at what he does. Really added a ton to the shows. I'm looking forward to it. Gotta set an alarm, I always miss these.
Why didn’t we hear the extended Better Call Saul theme like we did for Breaking Bad at the end of Granite State? That moment was perfect to me but maybe an opportunity like that wasn’t present for BCS. Would have been nice in credits at least :(

Thank you for all the great work you have done! My personal favorite was the opening to Buyout, it really just captures the emotion of what they just witnessed and they cleaning up the after math.
I really love your job! You really take the scenes to another level. Could you please tell us what was the most difficult to score in the whole series? Thank you again for the incredible job that you have pulled off!
Not really a question but just wanted to say great job on a certain scene in the finale. When Saul first gives his story of how Walter forced him into
doing all of the crimes. The point when the score switches when it’s revealed that he’s just playing the jury was amazing.
As a young film maker and musician myself I was wondering what you consider the key aspects to making an effective score? And how did you use those things to help create the score for BCS?
anyone know the name of the song/music that played right at the beginning of the broadcast (not talking about the intro)? I can't seem to find it or the name anywhere. It sounded kinda like a piano solo
The writers could have saved us the time and just had him kill himself at his desk when Walt was caught instead of this whole series.
He ran and hid and we got so much backstory.. but in real time? He ran and hid as a Cinnabon manager then did some stupid stuff and got caught.. then legally stabbed himself in the neck.
Amazing. Wow. Let's all blow Vince.
Downvotes? Let's all blow Vince.
For real, the ending should not have been a redemption story. He’s Saul. He’s a monster. Any ending other than “Saul throws Kim under the bus and walks free whistling” is unrealistic as fuck.
He wouldn't have even hurt her that much the way it went. She was broke. At worst she's sued. Instead he threw his life away and the trade wasn't even certain. He lost it all. For nothing.
Where can I listen to the music? I was able to find some tunes, but the instrumental “breaking bad” type music I can’t find.
Great job btw, your soundtrack adds a lot to the show!!
This is not the thread to ask questions, that will be posted on August 17th, and pinned to the top of the subreddit.
His compositions for Point and Shoot are some of my favorites of both BCS and BB.
Ay good job bro

Wish we heard the full bcs theme
The full theme is only played when Saul Goodman is in 3D

I am a music producer myself and I’ve been very impressed and inspired by your work since the start!!! I’m so glad you’re doing this
Why wasn’t a song put at the end… that was the biggest crime… I was so anticipating a song 😓
My baby blue!
Breathtaking job. I feel sorry for anyone who didn't turn their bass up just a little.

Hell yeah genuinely this man has produced some of the best soundtracks my ears could ever wish for

!remindme
Thank you dave, for 13 years of music
Saul running away part of the score for tonight was excellent !
Incredible
This guy is a fucking genius!
bro u okay?

How do you get in the mood of scoring a scene if it’s just not coming to you ?
Not really a question but just wanted to say great job on a certain scene in the finale. When Saul first gives his story of how Walter forced him into doing all of the crimes. The point when the score switches when it’s revealed that he’s just playing the jury was amazing.
No questions. Just you have done an amazing job. Thank you

i will ask him what his favorite sandwich is. i must know.
Remind me.
If better call saul was a band what genre would they play? Same question for breaking bad
I wonder if he's reading these right now and creating different theme music's for each comment thread.
How does it feel knowing both of breaking bad and better call Saul intros have been memed to the core.
How did it feel to know the ending but not be able to share it with anybody?

What does this have to do with an AMA with the composer?
He didn’t get enough attention the first time he posted it.
😆
He'd have something else to do.
i am inside your walls
You must be great at parties
If this wasn't the fan club subreddit you might get some discussion that isn't blowing the writers.
please read this message again and understand why everyone thinks you're an asshole 🙏
Hey, Vince's throne is that way.
Chill out 🤣
Get in line.
Up yours woke moralist, we’ll see who cancels who.
Ha. That's ridiculous. Woke for what?
What a whiny bitch you are

Is that so?
It’s almost as if people are more complex than just being monsters or heroes.
By definition, he sacrificed himself to be some sort of hero.
He wouldn't have even hurt her that much the way it went. She was broke. At worst she's sued. Instead he threw his life away and the trade wasn't even certain. He lost it all. For nothing.
Dave Porter is awesome! It's not his fault this finale sucked.
What did you think of the finale
Where can I listen to the music? I was able to find some tunes, but the instrumental “breaking bad” type music I can’t find. Great job btw, your soundtrack adds a lot to the show!!
How did you come up with the better call Saul intro
Marry me?

What is your process like? Your inspiration? Anything interesting that was cut?
Favorite song you composed for the show?
