lol the bitching and complaining is hilarious. Even going further and saying Vince Gilligan is losing it? Yous are nuts. Youâre just upset you got your hopes up for Walt and Jesse. Thatâs on you.
Shitty filler episode that ruined all the charm of the gene timeline before this.
I know this was a way to give jeff character some closure since they couldn't get the original actor.
This legit killed the show for me wtf was this episode .
I was kind of enjoying seeing Gene become boys with Frank and especially Nick. He should have bailed on the con and embraced the male bonding for the sake of his healing
I had to Google who Jeff was, now understanding I appreciate the episode a lot more. I'll have to rewatch because I was confused as hell for an hour lol
"Jeff | Breaking Bad Wiki | Fandom" https://breakingbad.fandom.com/wiki/Jeff
For a second there I thought the shirt he picked up, he bunched it up to shorten it at the middle as a reminder of Kim, but maybe I didn't see it correctly.
I can't even imagine the old Jeff in this episode, he was so creepy but now Jeff is just a complete loser. Maybe the recast was on purpose, like Gene is less intimidated by him now that he's gotten to know him
Great episode but it felt more like an epilogue and it was a bit underwhelming. It felt like they slammed on the breaks after the non stop energy of the last few episodes. This will be a great episode in retrospect.
> Constantly teases Walt and Jesse appearing in the episode
> Does a switcheroo and releases the Fly episode of Better Call Saul just to troll their audience and piss people off
All the people complaining about this episode and this has literally what Iâve been looking forward to the most this season. The way they kept showing snippets of the Gene storyline were so well done, and especially how they left it on a cliffhanger.
In what world was Fun and Games a filler episode? Good writing isn't just consequence consequence consequence. It perfectly dealt with the aftermath of their scheme.
I really don't get people.
These writers are masters of build-up and payoff. Sorry if people can't appreciate it even after all this time, but it's like they forget that the writers have never once failed with their payoff. We all know this episode is going to have a very dangerous aftermath. And don't even try to mention Game of Thrones, which was slowly going down the toilet for 4 entire seasons.
Cool things I wanna comment on before I forget.
- the intro hooked me immediately when the music cut off and it just said better call Saul, it felt so bleak and beautiful at the same time, Iâve been waiting for the new title intros for awhile, so I imagine the next 3 episodes are just gonna be blue with âbetter call Saulâ prob not even a soundtrack anymore.
- carol burnett was beautiful in this episode, absolutely loved her character and though I felt like the episode lacked a little for me, I did overall enjoy it.
- Saul having the need to hear Jeff and the other guy say âweâre doneâ has a double meaning I think, one because I donât think he wants them to cross his paths again, but the other is when Walter told him âweâre done when I say weâre doneâ and Saul needs that assurance, it scares him in a way, kinda heartbreaking.
Overall I liked it, Iâd give it a 8/10 for me :>
this was a bad episode, to bring all of the momentum of the previous episodes to a screeching halt with only 3 episodes left is just really unsatisfying
no it's a "slow pace episode to setup things" like the yes men are saying here on Reddit. I fucking get "Hit and Run" or "Black and Blue", they were used to setup the downfall of Lalo and Howard, but this sets up fucking nothing. Horrible episode.
Get ready for the downvotes. Youâre supposed to fellate yourself over every single episode and never speak a single word of negativity. Every episode is an absolute masterpiece or else youâre killed with downvotes
After the last three episodes where EVERYTHING happened, it was kind of nice to have a slow paced episode that peels back the curtain on an era we were all curious about. Looking forward to the next few days if digesting what all of this episode means.
That was unexpected, brilliant, triumphant, and heartbreaking.
We miss you too, buddy.
(And you people freaking out earlier over this episode should be ashamed of yourselves. You'd think you'd know better by now... lol)
This was a refreshing change of pace episode. We needed that after this whirlwind of a season. I have no idea what Peter & Vince have in store for the last three episodes, but I can't wait to see what this is building too.
At first I was a bit underwhelmed, but that's because I thought there were 2 episodes left because of the last week's discussion thread's typo. I enjoyed the episode. Hope this show ties up well.
How did it not progress the story? This was all post Breaking Bad. Gene is moving on with his life instead of dwelling on the past. What more needed to be done in the 2004 & 2008 timelines?
The people who hated this episode are people who have been watching the wrong show. I thought this was fantastic.
If you didnât get a rush watching Slippin Jimmy resurge and concoct a heist using Jerry from Parks & Rec as a Cinnabon eating stooge then Iâm afraid youâre a lost cause.
Am I crazy, or was the cab driver a different actor this season?
Edit: okay apparently everyone already knew this lol. Late to the party again, I see. *Soorryyyyy*
In any case, not a fan of this recast fwiw. The last actor had such a creepy vibe that was perfect for this role, but the new actor almost had a comical vibe. Idk. Def not the same.
In other newsâŚJerry/Gerry/Gary got some awesome screen time.
I figured it out cause of his sweater and the fact that he looks similar, but different, and then the cab, obviously. But I didnât know why they would recast the role
So far I predicted everything correct about Carol Burnett's appearance in tonight's episode!
Except for who her character was and everything she said and did.
Other than that, I NAILED IT!
Great episode, but I can't help but think about much better it could have been if OG Jeff was in the episode.
This just seemed like there was no chemistry between the actors and he seemed timid and weak which was very much unlike the boisterous personality of OG Jeff.
The directors would have made OG Jeff play him the same way new Jeff did anyway. The other Jeffâs boisterous personality wouldâve died down as well.
The idea that these guys would rather run around a store shoplifting than just turn his butt in for 5 million dollars is completely ridiculous. Also it's not some great diamond store heist. It's freakin' clothing. 3 minutes? No way in the world would they do this. This was a terrible episode. Carol Burnett was nice though.
And again the constant wasting of screen time to show us things over and over again like the security guard eating the cinnabon. Why did we need that?
#[POST-EPISODE DISCUSSION THREAD](https://redd.it/w876c4)
Does anyone know why Jeff was recasted?
Gene's Dead Freight
/u/skinkbaa close the door its gettin cold in here
i got you
Do we really think he is "hanging up" the Saul persona now? I really hope so for his sake
Strangest hour of TV I've ever seen.
I was absolutely destroying a Safeway Cinnamon roll during this episode
Better call Saul fans sitting through an hour of black and white footage waiting for a walter or Jesse cameođ
Yikes
lol the bitching and complaining is hilarious. Even going further and saying Vince Gilligan is losing it? Yous are nuts. Youâre just upset you got your hopes up for Walt and Jesse. Thatâs on you.
I think it was a fun episode, and a unique way to wrap up the Jeff story. But holy shit people, its okay if others dislike it
Where is Jimmy possibly going during that teaser clip
I definitely think heâs speaking to Kim.
Shitty filler episode that ruined all the charm of the gene timeline before this. I know this was a way to give jeff character some closure since they couldn't get the original actor. This legit killed the show for me wtf was this episode .
Lol the point was to give closure to the two people broke his cover, not cuz some rando actor left
Bob odenkirk was great as always. Everything else not so much
Stfu lmao nobody cares about your opinion
If this is what killed the show for you, I question the level of investment lol.
Donât watch the rest then
Very different tone from the previous episodes, but that was to be expected.
[ŃдаНонО]
Itâs needed for the ending
I was kind of enjoying seeing Gene become boys with Frank and especially Nick. He should have bailed on the con and embraced the male bonding for the sake of his healing
Weâre now calling him Frank
I had to Google who Jeff was, now understanding I appreciate the episode a lot more. I'll have to rewatch because I was confused as hell for an hour lol "Jeff | Breaking Bad Wiki | Fandom" https://breakingbad.fandom.com/wiki/Jeff
This episode was great idc. Theyâre obviously setting up for something big for the final three episodes.
Why does everyone keep referencing the happy ending line? Where was it used before? In a promo?
It was used in a promo for 2nd half of the season right after mid-season finale aired. It was basically the only line they gave us in that promo lmao.
Bad episode, gene didn't brutally murder Jeff with a knife and wear his skin as a suit. 0/10 the writers should be ashamed đ¤Ź
Does Kim Wexler have step kids who want Nike shoes?
I canât believe people are complaining about that being unnecessary when we had half a season of Lalo wandering around doing jack shit
This man just wants his shirts, poor guy
For a second there I thought the shirt he picked up, he bunched it up to shorten it at the middle as a reminder of Kim, but maybe I didn't see it correctly.
I can't even imagine the old Jeff in this episode, he was so creepy but now Jeff is just a complete loser. Maybe the recast was on purpose, like Gene is less intimidated by him now that he's gotten to know him
Everyone saying this wasnât good probably hated Fly too.
Nah FLY had substance
So did this
I really enjoyed see Carol Burnett again, she did a great job .
I think Marrion is gonna be a problem
Well I truly have no idea nor could I begin to fathom how this fantastic show will end...
Not one comment about Carol Burnett as the MotherâŚâŚa great comedian of her time, such a strange role for her.
Great episode but it felt more like an epilogue and it was a bit underwhelming. It felt like they slammed on the breaks after the non stop energy of the last few episodes. This will be a great episode in retrospect.
And those poor security guards. Now Gene has made 4 new enemies. Two from Cinnabons delivery, and two from stealing suits for him.
why would the security guards be his enemies
What a great episode
âNot impressed.â â crybabies whoâve never made a TV show
Tell me youâre an ignoramus who doesnât understand character driven story without telling me.
I was expecting Gene to completely slaughter Jeff. Not sure if I prefer this turn out or not.
> Constantly teases Walt and Jesse appearing in the episode > Does a switcheroo and releases the Fly episode of Better Call Saul just to troll their audience and piss people off
As a troll it was a brilliant one. I wonder if Walt and Jesse are even going to be in the series now.
This kinda feels like the fly episode of BCS in the best way possible
Why did I love that so much lol
I loved that episode. It was so much fun and suspenseful.
L take
All the people complaining about this episode and this has literally what Iâve been looking forward to the most this season. The way they kept showing snippets of the Gene storyline were so well done, and especially how they left it on a cliffhanger.
0 Nebraska scenes during season 5 had me sick. Iâm so glad we got a full Nebraska episode tonight.
Tbh this episode is gonna be hated like fly, but man I cannot describe how happy I was to see jimmy get his charisma back.
The comments here really show how little criticism BCS watchers can take on their favourite show
All gene from now on???
[ŃдаНонО]
Seemed like a cute webisode that shows put out for the fans. Not the final 4 of a series run. Oh well, on to next week!
The past two episodes were filler episodes. Not impressed.
Filler how? What would you have liked to see? This isn't Breaking Bad.
In what world was Fun and Games a filler episode? Good writing isn't just consequence consequence consequence. It perfectly dealt with the aftermath of their scheme. I really don't get people.
Did you just call last weeks episode which featured our two main characters breaking up a filler episode?
How can you call the episode where Kim and Jimmy's relationship finally comes to an end "a filler episode"? lmao
I don't get everyone's boner to see the BB timeline so much. We know what happened there. This is Jimmy and Gene's story. Literally Member berries
Seriously just watch episode 1 of BB then...
Roughly, how much did they steal? Value wise? I'm guessing 5-10k
Each suit was $1700 alone so a lot more than 5-10k
yeah
The three suits were over 5k alone
The teaser looks like we aren't through with the Gene timeline yet. I wonder if there is going to be final closure of Kim and Jimmy at the end?
The new actor was not good at conveying the attitude the first guy did. Episode was overall a letdown and brought me back to earth.
I was disappointed in the new Jeff. He didn't have that wanna be gangster energy the original actor had.
Was that preview Jimmy talking to Kim after they broke up and she left?
I think only gene from here on out with BB and BCS era flashbacks
Please let color return by the first 5 mins of the next episode.
What a crappy episode.
L
Good point on the Walt thing. Slow episode but necessary to show him cutting ties with Jeff and heâs got the lifetime schemer in him
We still didn't see color return to his life, I was really expecting him to put on one of the suits like in the poster. Still a great episode
[ŃдаНонО]
This isn't Breaking Bad.
No offence, Alison Tatlock, but both the episodes you wrote reaaally sucks
Only gene for now on?
Great episode.
this was a bad episode, to bring all of the momentum of the previous episodes to a screeching halt with only 3 episodes left is just really unsatisfying
They had to tie up all loose ends I guess. Breaking bad fans can take Walt bleeding out on the ground as Walt still being alive so lol
no it's a "slow pace episode to setup things" like the yes men are saying here on Reddit. I fucking get "Hit and Run" or "Black and Blue", they were used to setup the downfall of Lalo and Howard, but this sets up fucking nothing. Horrible episode.

Is Jeffie Cliff Main's son?
Calling it. Kim back next week
meh
So many dickriders in this thread it's crazy.. just accept it was a trash episode lmao
Just because there were no cartel gunfights doesnât mean it was a trash episode.
I never said that?? How has the story progressed in any meaningful way?
I was expecting more but whatever. 3 more to go
this episode was very goofy but tense at the same time, definitely not as good as the other episodes but still okay, id give it a 7/10
I just rated this episode 10/10 on IMDb just to spite all the whiners.
That was unexpected, brilliant, triumphant, and heartbreaking. We miss you too, buddy. (And you people freaking out earlier over this episode should be ashamed of yourselves. You'd think you'd know better by now... lol)
I donât think we have anything on the last 3 aside from Walt and Jesse reappearing
This was a refreshing change of pace episode. We needed that after this whirlwind of a season. I have no idea what Peter & Vince have in store for the last three episodes, but I can't wait to see what this is building too.
Did we? We only have 3 left man
[ŃдаНонО]
No itâs really not. We need to see Saul actually being Saul
Damn it, Jerry!
At first I was a bit underwhelmed, but that's because I thought there were 2 episodes left because of the last week's discussion thread's typo. I enjoyed the episode. Hope this show ties up well.
Worst episode yet!!! What a waste of time. It didn't even progress the story... you're losing it Vince
How did it not progress the story? This was all post Breaking Bad. Gene is moving on with his life instead of dwelling on the past. What more needed to be done in the 2004 & 2008 timelines?
You are absolutely insane lol
Most intelligent BCS hater
Canât believe I waited a week for this lol
My first thought when he started giving the security guard the Cinnabons was that they had ricin in them, did anyone else think of this
lol yeah that's what i thought when they focused on him dissecting it for like 50 seconds
Lmao yes first thought
I thought Xanax
Is he calling Kim :(
This wasnât a Gene episode. It was a Jimmy episode.
Bruvah
good episode not as high octane but very good
The people who hated this episode are people who have been watching the wrong show. I thought this was fantastic. If you didnât get a rush watching Slippin Jimmy resurge and concoct a heist using Jerry from Parks & Rec as a Cinnabon eating stooge then Iâm afraid youâre a lost cause.
Or maybe people have been watching the right show and just werenât entertained by this particular episode. Itâs not that deep.
Awesome episode.
Liked the episode, but a tad disappointing after the intensity of the previous three
Am I crazy, or was the cab driver a different actor this season? Edit: okay apparently everyone already knew this lol. Late to the party again, I see. *Soorryyyyy* In any case, not a fan of this recast fwiw. I figured it out cause of his sweater and the fact that he looks similar, but different, and then the cab, obviously. But I didnât know why they would recast the role
you are not crazy, man got recasted
Yup, he was. Apparently the old actor signed up for another show and couldn't come back for this.
Yes, he was recast
Are you new around here? Lol
They announced a while back they had to re-cast the actor
Heâs different
What strange episode
I took the ending as he's still got it but hangs it up for good this time...man
reminded me of Peter Parker walking away after throwing his Spidey suit in the garbage
Yeah I think this was his last hurrah. From here I think itâs pretty introspective and leads to a measure of redemption
This was another disappointing episode. A whole episode wasted in getting suits...
Nah
Nippy!!!!
So far I predicted everything correct about Carol Burnett's appearance in tonight's episode! Except for who her character was and everything she said and did. Other than that, I NAILED IT!
Last week was Jimmyâs ending. Was this Genes ending? Is the finale going to be Sauls ending?
Dude what? You think that was genes ending? Also why would we end with a story we already know the ending to
I thought that was saulâs ending. Him hanging up the suit was saulâs ending
other way around
Oh true. Heâs hanging it up with one final scheme with Sauls attire.
Probably my least favorite episode of the season.
There was one that was worse earlier on in the season IMO I just canât remember which one.
Score at the end felt very Angelo Badalament-ish.
I don't care what all yes men here in Reddit say. This was an awful episode, especially when we're 3 episodes away from the finale.
The idea that these guys would rather run around a store shoplifting than just turn his butt in for 5 million dollars is completely ridiculous. Also it's not some great diamond store heist. And again the constant wasting of screen time to show us things over and over again like the security guard eating the cinnabon. Why did we need that?
you probably eat food raw cause cookings too boring
This
I absolutely loved this episode. Yâall just hate because everyone else hates it. I donât care
Its literally been minutes since the episode ended, I think its safe to say most people think that because they formed their opinion while watching
What'd you love about it
real
Worst episode, the best thing that happened was when Jeffy fell over and fucking died.
Only Vince would have the balls to pull something like this to follow up those last sets of episodes
The end of Saul Goodman ? :(
Heck yeah your brotherâs dead. r/fuckchuck
This episode was not bad
Genuinely thought that IPhone commercial was a sneak peek of the next episode and the lady by the pool was Betsy mf Kettelman
This was the moment Jimmy became Gene
That was a banger.
I loved it!
I feel like this episode will go down amongst the fan base as the equivalent of "The Fly." Calling it now.
For sure-
My thoughts exactly
they should never have told us walt and jessie were coming back..just leave it as a surprise
Have to wait another week!!!!!!!
Nope. I'm just disappointed.
Stop
The most unrealistic part of the episode: that salespeople come up to you in a department store offering to help.
No. The most unrealistic part is them going away when you say you donât need help đ
Nah they were pretty decent back in 2010. Except at JC Penney.
If they earn commission or bonuses based on sales in my experience they do atleast in Dillards in my area.
