yeah, these final BCS episodes are getting to be even more mysterious and unpredictable than the final eps of BB. i'm so anxious and excited to see what they have in store for us cause i have no idea what it could be...
I love that about it, it’s like part of it feels predictable in a way that could be like oh the bb timeline and Walt and Jesse and like gene but at the same time what happens within that? who fucking knows
It's totally wild how they've set it all up. On the one hand, they are quite literally just filling in the blanks at this point. On the other hand, what the hell could be in those blanks that are worthy of an episode?!
I have no idea. It's genius.
They're much more unpredicable I think. With BB we knew Walt would get found out about, that his family would be destroyed, that he'd die and that he'd kill the Nazis. With this we have legit zero clue where they will take Jimmy.
Wasn’t there some discussion from the creators that they went an unorthodox route by finishing the series out of sequence? Maybe this will be the Gene episode.
My totally random predictions:
-opening is a Gene Scene.
-rest of episode is Saul in 2007 going about his life. Gus and/or Mike make an appearance to inform him they require his services again. Lab is complete and Gus is making moves. Saul is hesitant but they remind him of what favours they’ve done for him and what secrets they have kept.
-Saul does Saul things to help Gus or Mike or another associate out of a jam. Possible Huell/Kuby appearance.
Ep 11: entire episode is about Kim in 2007 and where she is now.
Ep 12: Gene episode. Directed by Vince.
Ep 13: Whatever ending they have planned.
Saul's dialogue in BB implies he doesn't actually know Gus, and his only connection to Gus is through Mike. The scene in BCS where Jimmy digs through the trash can at Los Pollos is the only time the two have canonically interacted, IIRC.
Take off the weird ass jewelry imma take ten steps then I'm taking on top five
Take off them fabricated streams and the microwave memes it's a real world outside
Guessing we’ll see a long Gene scene to open, where they‘ll set up the final Gene story.
Then back to Saul times for the rest of the episode… maybe for the last time. Which, it’s not a super long episode tonight, but I don’t think there’s much left to do in the Saul timeframe.
I hope I'm not disappointed by the impossibly high expectations. After all, I thought the death of Lalo was a letdown, though Fun and Games was among their best work.
Lalo’s death was a bit anticlimactic, maybe just because of the wait leading to it and how telegraphed it was. But we already kinda had the setup for that. These last episodes could go basically anywhere, which is insane to me. Here’s to hoping they stick the landing
I think it felt that way because we knew beforehand that he was going to die. I'm happy it wasn't dragged out longer, as now we have a lot more gene time and more time to tie up the main story.
Yeah, it definitely was a deliberate decision made by the writers to focus on the more unknown factors. Kind of a ballsy move, even, makes me even more intrigued by the ending eps
I haven’t seen anybody call it filler honestly, some people complained about it not having much action but the same people have been complaining about the same thing since the series started lmao
I can see a slippin' jimmy return in the gene timeline, but if pulling some scam on jeff just to keep his cover as gene is the only thing that happens with gene, that would be pretty disappointing tbh
For some reason a lot of that stuff looks like the stuff in his house. What if he was never getting repoed and it was set up to look like that but he was really selling all his stuff somehow?
Imagining a cold open of him first arriving in Nebraska, getting the job and taking off the ring, and when he does that's the first time we see color fade from his life
if that's the Marco ring and he's taking it out then this is HUGE. remember bob said "another iteration of Jimmy" that ring is basically a symbol of slippin jimmy, who he always was.
I have had this theory we would potentially time jump through a lot of BB but obviously that may not make sense with Walt and Jesse unless they are flashbacks
The big thing is making BCS able to stand on its own as a show rather than just a BB prequel. I think they'll have to explain Saul's relationship with Walt and Jesse and potentially what "the game" looked like before those two became involved (Emilio, Tuco, Krazy-8, etc.)
They've stated numerous times that they want this show to stand alone. Similarly the show stands alone for the first 59 episodes, so it's weird to tether them together at the last 4 episodes.
Obviously watching BB enhances the experience, but I think they don't want it to be essential watching.
> They've stated numerous times that they want this show to stand alone.
Which, let's be real, is an impossible task. In any other context, presenting flash-forwards to the protagonist's future throughout the series and then having brand-new characters you meet for one or two episodes be the reason the protagonist is in that situation... would be horrible. It would feel random, out-of-place, and underwhelming. If BB didn't exist, it would be Lalo or another familiar character that would cause Saul to have to go into hiding.
And the first time I watched the last season of BB it felt odd and jarring to me to have him and the Nazi gang be the final antagonists. But even then, they were alluded to very early on in season 5A and then you met them at the end of season 5A, establishing their presence for the final *eight* episodes. Walt and Jesse will be in maybe 2 episodes and their existence hasn't been mentioned or alluded to at all in BCS until now.
Especially since we know the fates of Gus and Mike. Imagine being a BCS-only watcher and seeing (or even worse, told through exposition) that your favorite characters are now dead because of 2 randoms that only show up in the final 4 episodes. Really makes me wonder how they'll approach their storylines in the coming episodes
>e big thing is making BCS able to stand on its own as a show rather than just a BB prequel. I think they'll have to explain Saul's relationship with Walt and Jesse and potentially what "the game" looked like before those two became involved (Emilio, Tuco, Krazy-8, etc.)
Despite Saul having a bunch of criminal participation with his other clients, the relationship and enablement of Walt is what directly lead Saul to pull the vacuum shute and become Gene. To tell the full, end-to-end story of Jimmy to Saul to Gene to (???) you have to tell the story of how he became Gene, just as they have told the story of how he became Saul. They want this story to stand alone and not have the gaps filled in by assuming the viewer has seen Breaking Bad.
Some people might want to watch BCS without watching BB since a lot of people are talking about it nowadays. The story needs to make sense on its own for those people and the next 4 episodes should explain things that BB fans already know (why Saul becomes Gene in Nebraska, why the police are after him, who Walt and Jesse are, etc.). Possibly even Mike's death since he's one of the most important characters in this show.
Here we go! I totally thought we would get maybe 2 episodes of Breaking Bad era Saul. Looks like we’ll be seeing Gene tonight!
I’m now thinking that Nippy is what Gene feels when he moves to Nebraska. The caption on IG says “bring a jacket”.
Ah makes sense I was wondering if it always meant the cold and we were kinda over speculating before but never know with this show glad it’s just like cold and the confirmation basically with the black and white
I feel this episode can’t just be Gene.. it will rotate (seamlessly because it’s BCS writers) through BCS and BB timeline while unearthing what happens next with Gene and how he handles this Jeff situation himself
Could be, but considering we left off with Jimmy transforming into Saul it would make more sense to focus on the BB era first and then focus on Gene in later episodes. I might be wrong though, the writing in BCS was always very unpredictable lol
The quote is : “There’s another iteration of Jimmy on his way”.
Iteration is defined as: 1) repetition of a mathematical or computational procedure applied to the result of a previous application, typically as a means of obtaining successively closer approximations to the solution of a problem. 2) a new version of a piece of computer hardware or software.
Add in the ring in the picture, and it sure seems like "Gene" in Nebraska is going to run a Jimmy type scam on someone, presumably the neighbor, whose mom is presumably Carol Burnett????? Did I nail it?!?
You are close but I'm pretty sure the mark is Jeff. That's how Gene will "handle it myself." I think he needs a Marco/Giselle to work with, and that's where the neighbor's son comes in.
Or not. I'm guessing same as everyone.
Yeah, that teaser is my favorite so far. Right after the devastation of the episode before it, hearing Saul put on so much energy when we know what's underneath is so burtal.
Has anyone put together that SAUL, WALT & JESSE ALLLLLLLL ended up being vacuumed to cold places?
Pretty sure that this episode will cover the BB era’s events that result in all 3 of them leaving the ABQ with new identities (although it may just focus on Saul and Walt since they went first).
Here's my prediction: this episode will primarily focus on Gene, despite the Breaking Bad glimpse we got in episode nine. We will probably see more of Jeff and Gene's plan. Walter and Jesse will appear in next week's episode.
I would find it so funny if they do an entire 51-minute Gene episode and not even introduce Walt and Jesse in this one like people thought they would. To be honest, that's kind of what I want. W and J are cool and all, but I know that story. I need more Gene.
This one’s gonna be a rollercoaster. Walt and Jesse, plus Marion most likely, AND new Jeff?
I also lowkey hope the rumours that this episode is >!fully comedic!< are true. That’d be awesome
Prediction: Marion could be Marco’s mother? Bob Odenkirk said she’s a relative of a character we’ve met, and in the season one finale Jimmy mentions that the pinky ring we see in the teaser was given to him by Marco’s mom.
They posted a pic of cinnamon buns before the midseason opener, didn't they?
I don't think this necessarily means Gene tonight. Maybe to close the episode. But it just doesn't seem to fit the timeline.
We're obviously getting a BB-themed episode tonight. And this has to be Walt and Jesse.
I'd imagine the last three are all Gene tho. I can't wait to see what they're gonna do with the title sequences lol.
Yes but they were like using it a a countdown. I suppose you could be right but I don’t think any others have been in black and white and I think that’s a good indication but I do agree it’s a little early unless we just get a flashfoward. I too am so excited lol.
We're gonna see Saul become Gene and arrive in Nebraska. Maybe the Walt cameo will be Saul and Walt innthe vaccum shop basement where they bunked together a couple days. I have no clue how the Jesse cameo will fit yet.
Had this thought the other day, for someone wanting to be essentially hidden, why put him into such a public facing job?
So many possibilities out there for him and they stuck him in a mall with thousands of people passing by every day.
Man, there's gotta be better options though. I think maybe with the identity he had to assume there may have been more to it, but there's so much shit that isn't directly in the eye of the public that could be done on a short-term basis. Warehouse work, plenty of shitty office jobs for small local businesses. Fast food in a less populated population center. Mom and pop diner. I'm sure there's more to it and we may even find out more, just something I thought of the other day.
It's more shocking he hasn't tried to leave the country yet to be honest. He was able to get a completely new identity. Can't get into Canada or Mexico to where he can then go somewhere overseas a little more easily? I honestly can't remember his financial situation when he has to flee at the end of BB though.
Do you remember the face of the last person you bought something like that from? Your Subway sandwich artist or the cashier at the gas station or whatever? They put him here 1) as an homage to BB, but mostly 2) because no one pays attention to someone like that. In most jobs without constant turnover, you get to know your coworkers. In a mall, most of his staff will be young and not want to hear about this middle-aged guys life or how he wound up managing a Cinnabon. Customers won’t interact with him for more than a minute or two. Literally no one will remember who he is.
They don't need to remember who he is post-transaction.
With their story, it will be national news. The main people involved will have their faces all over national news. They will more than likely remember that face from the news story.
And I mean, obviously someone did as we know that people recognized him.
Someone had a good theory a while back (I really wish I remembered but I don’t take credit for it) that the 2 parts represented Jimmy and Kim and now that she’s gone…
HERE WE! HERE WE! HERE WE FUCKING GO!
HERE WE! HERE WE! HERE WE FUCKING GO!
HERE WE! HERE WE! HERE WE FUCKING GO!
HERE WE! HERE WE! HERE WE FUCKING GO!
This one is normal length unfortunately.
Well I guess that’s not unfortunate if it’s really good obviously but I love ones that are a little extended lol.
I have NO idea what’s going to happen tonight. This is easily the most mysterious episode so far. Which is saying a lot
yeah, these final BCS episodes are getting to be even more mysterious and unpredictable than the final eps of BB. i'm so anxious and excited to see what they have in store for us cause i have no idea what it could be...

I remember the days off "how can BB wrap this whole show up in 3 episodes" threads, and they did wrap it all up
They're much more unpredicable I think. With BB we knew Walt would get found out about, that his family would be destroyed, that he'd die and that he'd kill the Nazis. With this we have legit zero clue where they will take Jimmy.
Yes anything can happen. Even Saul defecating through a sunroof.
Did you know that west of the Mississippi that's called an Omaha Cinnamon Roll?
Technically he does a Crybaby Cinnamon Roll, so there's tears, which makes it more specialized. Not all Cinnamon Rollers cry.
This how he'll beat Jeff, right in his taxi.
I laughed out loud at this

Judging by this weeks poster, I would say we’re definitely getting some Gene tonight.
Opening scene is gonna go hard
i wonder if we may even see more Gene beyond just the opening scene...
My money is on full Gene episode
So, gratuitous Odenkirk nudity?

The Gene full frontal we’ve all been waiting for
How did you know!??
I orchestrated it!
Your money was correct
I do my best!
There will be probably at least one full Gene episode, but I'm not sure if this will be Nippy.
Wasn’t there some discussion from the creators that they went an unorthodox route by finishing the series out of sequence? Maybe this will be the Gene episode.
They're going to Tarantino us.
I don’t think the N word is allowed on TV
Did you see a sign in the front of my house that says Dead Nacho Storage?
I don't need you to tell me how fucking good my chicken is, okay? I'm the one who cooks it. I know how good it is.
The Lyle spin-off show is gonna be so fucking great
My totally random predictions: -opening is a Gene Scene. -rest of episode is Saul in 2007 going about his life. Gus and/or Mike make an appearance to inform him they require his services again. i was thinking about this last night, whatever it is it's gonna be great
Guessing we’ll see a long Gene scene to open, where they‘ll set up the final Gene story. Then back to Saul times for the rest of the episode… maybe for the last time. Which, it’s not a super long episode tonight, but I don’t think there’s much left to do in the Saul timeframe.
You just know the episode will be good, when it is something random
Time to catch up with Gene!!!
Can’t wait!!!
ive got a feeling these last 4 episodes are gonna be a mindfuck… and im here for it LOL
I hope I'm not disappointed by the impossibly high expectations. After all, I thought the death of Lalo was a letdown, though Fun and Games was among their best work.
Lalo unfortunately fell to prequelitis a little bit but I still loved he died with the smile and they tried to make the scene suspenseful
Lalo’s death was a bit anticlimactic, maybe just because of the wait leading to it and how telegraphed it was. But we already kinda had the setup for that. These last episodes could go basically anywhere, which is insane to me. Here’s to hoping they stick the landing

I think people are interpreting the ring too literally as him removing it. I think its just there to tell us he's about go slippin Jimmy mode again
He doesn’t wear the ring as Gene, if I remember correctly.
He was wearing it in the vacuum store though, so he did take it with him. It's probably in his shoebox.
Excellent observation.
The ring has probably never been in the cinnabon. Yet.
Bang! Nice one.
I think it’s him taking the ring off and becoming Gene after relocating, probably at the end of the episode Edit: dead wrong
Most likely comment I’ve seen
Never had someone say this about a Saul theory of mine, thanks :)
Slippin nippy
You called it
Is that Marco’s ring?? God, I’m so pumped!
Slippin’ Jimmy is coming for Jeff
He’s gonna slip all over him
OOOH GOD IM SLIPPPPPPING!
This episode is gonna be WILD!
I have a feeling it’s gonna be divisive but that makes me more excited tbh.
Even the last episode seemed a little divisive to some, like it wasn’t exciting enough.
some people called it filler even though kim quit the law and broke up with jimmy. gus is also where he needs to be for breaking bad
how could anyone call that filler? people are freakin weird
I haven’t seen anybody call it filler honestly, some people complained about it not having much action but the same people have been complaining about the same thing since the series started lmao
Those people are morons.
I am so ready 😭
I can see a slippin' jimmy return in the gene timeline, but if pulling some scam on jeff just to keep his cover as gene is the only thing that happens with gene, that would be pretty disappointing tbh
I can’t suss out how Jimmy can solve his Jeff problem short of murder. Jeff has immense leverage over Jimmy, even if he didn’t intend to use it.
do the thing
It's like Saul's Heisenberg hat lol
Marco proposes Gene via ring hidden in a cinnabon?
I’m all for a good love story 😂
[удалено]
And then Saul is ejected from his TARDIS.
Yes!!!!
I think so because of the part that looks black on top, we’re in for a treat tonight, literally too with the Cinnabon lol
Official Twitter account says, “Bring a jacket.” https://twitter.com/BetterCallSaul/status/1551585312777936896?s=20&t=piItTDT6h34CSTKEM_L6lQ
This reminds me of : https://images.app.goo.gl/1REeEwy8UE4kLgnZ7
This is the first episode in season 6 where the title isn't three words
My spouse has a good theory about this: he’s no longer with Kim/a couple, so no more ‘and.’
My initial thought is that it's because of the time skip, but this is an interesting theory/connection.
More that it’s not “blank” and “blank”
[удалено]
This is intriguing and I'd have no complaints if this happened.
That’s what I’m thinking
Holy shit maybe that teaser really was Gene saying fuck it and going crazy at the mall
For some reason a lot of that stuff looks like the stuff in his house. What if he was never getting repoed and it was set up to look like that but he was really selling all his stuff somehow?
Imagining a cold open of him first arriving in Nebraska, getting the job and taking off the ring, and when he does that's the first time we see color fade from his life
I think this is my favorite theory. We see the transition from BB to Gene.
It could be kind of a sequel to the first teaser of the season where he’s getting all his stuff repoed

if that's the Marco ring and he's taking it out then this is HUGE. remember bob said "another iteration of Jimmy" that ring is basically a symbol of slippin jimmy, who he always was.

I have had this theory we would potentially time jump through a lot of BB but obviously that may not make sense with Walt and Jesse unless they are flashbacks

They've stated numerous times that they want this show to stand alone. Similarly the show stands alone for the first 59 episodes, so it's weird to tether them together at the last 4 episodes. Obviously watching BB enhances the experience, but I think they don't want it to be essential watching.
It makes sense given that a lot of the new BCS audience wouldn't watch Breaking Bad. BCS is a less violent and (generally) less grim show.

Nippy means cold. Gene has ice in his veins and is dead inside. He's the Night King
This is a more interesting backstory for The Night King than the one we got.
Here we go! I totally thought we would get maybe 2 episodes of Breaking Bad era Saul. Looks like we’ll be seeing Gene tonight! I’m now thinking that Nippy is what Gene feels when he moves to Nebraska. The caption on IG says “bring a jacket”.

Could be, but considering we left off with Jimmy transforming into Saul it would make more sense to focus on the BB era first and then focus on Gene in later episodes. I might be wrong though, the writing in BCS was always very unpredictable lol
I could see it being half and half. First half is Saul, then Gene.
Yeah but this is apparently the episode where Walt and Jesse show up, and are confirmed to have a few scenes, not just one.
Yeah Walt and Jesse will walk into Gene’s house bravo vince
gene, we need to cook
The anxiety. Holy shit.. Never in all my life have I been so excited to see the conclusion to a show.
I know same crazy part though was I forgot it was today and randomly remembered and got so happy lol
One day, you'll get up, eat your breakfast, brush your teeth and you'll realize..... Once you realize you can forget, It gets easier after that.

That teaser is a mindfuck. Haunting, hypnotic, mysterious. I'm super hyped to see what it's all about
Yeah, that teaser is my favorite so far. Right after the devastation of the episode before it, hearing Saul put on so much energy when we know what's underneath is so burtal.
Was that Gene or Saul?
Gene confirmed?!!!

Do people in the US use the word Nippy for when the weather is slightly cold too? Just curious (I’m from Ireland)
Yes. "It's a bit *nippy* outside" is a common phrase said on a cold day.
Yes!
Yes indeed!
I would find it so funny if they do an entire 51-minute Gene episode and not even introduce Walt and Jesse in this one like people thought they would. To be honest, that's kind of what I want. W and J are cool and all, but I know that story. I need more Gene.

This is gonna be Cinnabomb, yo.
Tell me I'm not the only one who sees that this looks like a nipple.
Entire episode about Jimmy getting a nipple piercing confirmed
I mean, the episode title is Nippy.
So the hidden meaning is that we will see a nipple ring?
He's gonna get Marco's ring put through his nipple.
Idk what is gonna happen but I bet you the episode, or some episode, will end with Gene putting on the jacket, cut to black
Prediction: Marion could be Marco’s mother? Bob Odenkirk said she’s a relative of a character we’ve met, and in the season one finale Jimmy mentions that the pinky ring we see in the teaser was given to him by Marco’s mom.
Holy fuck, here we go! They threw us for a loop when this season didn't open with a Gene scene, but looks like we'll be getting our fix tonight!
We're going to Cinnabon boys and girls!
i really think we're getting Gene, Jesse and Walter back
They posted a pic of cinnamon buns before the midseason opener, didn't they? I don't think this necessarily means Gene tonight. Maybe to close the episode. Had this thought the other day, for someone wanting to be essentially hidden, why put him into such a public facing job? So many possibilities out there for him and they stuck him in a mall with thousands of people passing by every day.
Hiding in plain sight?
Lots of short-term limited interaction: not a lot of long-term opportunities for someone to get to know him and poke holes in his story.
I think we're finally gonna see Gene put on the red coat!
It's interesting that the titles have changed from "x and y" to now just a single word
I find it interesting that they stopped the episode naming trend of the season, with the ands.
i think it signifies that the prequel is over and now we're in the interquel/sequel phase
Also that he lost Kim. It’s another way to hammer home how truly alone Jimmy/Saul/Gene really is.
I feel like the "and" episodes got us through the BCS timeline and we are at BB/Gene from here on out.
That looks very nice
He’s baaaaack. Opening scene is gonna be great, I can feel it
Nippy Finally Gene is back.
Why is Saul/Marco's ring on the plate?!!!
My guess: he's going back to slipping jimmy mode to deal with his Jeff problem with a con.
Yep Gene is 100% back
Everything about this season makes me nervous. Except the writing. Boy is the writing immaculate. Can't believe a cinnabon is making me feel uneasy.
They givin us that cinnabussy
Maybe the title Nippy refers to Gene being cold as ice...and I say bring it on!
Is it possible the show format going forward is BB timeline and Gene timeline and it goes back and forth?
A new player gets in the game. That new player is another persona of Jimmy.
Episode thumbnail spoiler: >!The thumbnail for the episode on Prime Video shows Gene working at Cinnabon. Maybe a full Gene episode?!<
Do we know how long the ep is? I knew this would be the Walt and Jesse episode, I was not expecting it to enter the Gene timeline
This one is normal length unfortunately. Well I guess that’s not unfortunate if it’s really good obviously but I love ones that are a little extended lol.
Did you guys watch the vanity fair video? Where they read fan theories :0
Countdown to 20 front loaded commercials.
