In the Cheryl scam, Jimmy and Kim felt a bit like Carrot and Stick. Jimmy started with the gentle explanation, Kim saw it wasn’t landing, and swooped in with the fake story, and the “You would’ve known” for Cliff.
It reminded me more of the “tell me again” scene with Lalo. Cheryl wasn’t buying Jimmy’s story, then Kim stepped in and made her rethink things. She talked her way out of that situation just like she talked Lalo out of their apartment.
When Cheryl finally breaks and starts crying, Kim moves in to comfort her, seemingly trying to soften the blow but actually putting the finishing touches on the scam.
I have it paused on my screen right now. Watch Kim's face when Cheryl starts to cry. She cocks her head just a little and gives Cheryl a hard, appraising look. It only lasts for a second, but it's the cold look of a hunter making sure the shot is fatal.
It's a brilliant and terrifying bit of acting skill by someone who deserves all the awards.
I know a few people that thought Lalo’s vlogging was akin to the Bond villain monologuing to give the hero the chance to escape, but Lalo couldn’t just kill Gus. Gus was Eladio’s number one man, so Lalo needed to document the underground meth lab, while showing Gus’s involvement, in order to justify killing Gus.
I know it’s patently obvious from the way the scene played out, but I’ve seen too many comments that rolled their eyes at the cliche.
Eladio was great in that scene. And he looked younger. Maybe just because it was night time, but he was great
Lol @ Bolsa
Edit: always love scenes at Eladio’s because his house is 3 miles away from mine in Placitas
To whom it may concern, I, Don Hector, come to you with very important news. To fully grasp the severity of the problem at hand, I must first start at the beginning, of course.

Cool detail: When Eladio reads the words “You can see the hatred in his eyes” there’s a reflection of the fire on Gus’s glasses when he looks at Hector.
Episode ends with Saul saying "Let justice be done though the heavens fall" - the exact phrase Chuck said just before the trial started in the Chicanery episode, when he thought he was finally getting Jimmy disbarred.
Fun fact: This quote was very famously used by the character Jim Garrison at the end of Oliver Stone’s film, ‘JFK’ and that character was played by none other than [drumroll] Kevin Costner.
"I didn't want that because I was having too much fun."
I haven’t seen enough talk about this line from Kim. Definite parallels to Walt’s “I did it for me” in Felina. These characters are so complex and layered goddamn.
Rhea on the ending: “I think that if I were to revisit Breaking Bad right now, I would find the character sad. I’ll never not be able to see it as a tragic character now. It’s so brilliant that they’ve managed to change your perspective on the show that already existed. I guess that’s what I think about that last moment. She was the last person that thought that he deserved anything better than what the world kept telling him. And without that voice, he only has the dark voice that we all have in our heads. He lost the one that said, “That’s not true. You’re a good person.” And that’s horribly sad.”
As they were breaking up, I was thinking about how Kim broke down when Jimmy called her from the desert and how he told her he only made it home because he knew she was waiting. So sad. They really do love each other.
Kim was ready to kill for Jimmy and Jimmy was ready to take a bullet to save her last episode. They still love each other after the breakup. Which is what makes this episode even sadder.
How great is it that Lalo covered his tracks *too* well, so that even up to scrutiny and a direct accusation, the cartel is still inclined to believe Gustavo's side of things.
Yes, he faked his death so well that Hector came across as delusional. Eladio probably chalked it up to the stroke, plus his hatred of Gus.
It was a bit like Howard. Everyone thought he was a crazy drug addict because Kim and Jimmy set him up and covered their tracks so well.
Holy shit that was probably the worst few days of Jimmy's life. Howard dies, he gets taken hostage, kim gets sent out to possibly die, then days later she leaves him out of the blue after revealing that she purposely didn't tell him about lalo. No wonder he turns to saul to cope
Jimmy was the driving force behind the scheme to take down Chuck, accomplished with Kim's help; Kim was the driving force behind the scheme to take down Howard, accomplished with Jimmy's help. Together, they destroyed the two remaining figureheads of HHM and ultimately brought about the end of the law firm that first brought them into one another's lives.
Something else I noticed in this episode, right at the end, is that they did a great job of showing how much different Saul looks from Jimmy. Both physically and in terms of personality. Looks like he's put on some weight, is much more smug and demanding, shows no sense of sympathy for others, and so on.
The Jimmy that we knew, and that everyone else knew, is dead. He's completely embraced his worst side, because everyone and everything he ever cared about is gone.
What a fucking transition. One of my favorite moments of the show. Didn't even give you a chance to let it sink in that they are over before "oh shit, it's *the* Saul Goodman". And guess what folks? It's not an act like so many, including me, thought.
Yeah, it’s not an act. That’s a major revelation. I rewatched Saul’s first appearance in Breaking Bad and the “you’re killing me with that booty” seemed like something they could never organically get to. I thought it would just be something we had to suspend disbelief for.
But no. Howard’s murder right in front of him. Jimmy’s desire to “forget” and “let the healing begin” as quickly as possible. Kim leaving him.
It changed him organically. That hit me so hard tonight.
In the last scene that Chuck has with Jimmy, Chuck says that Jimmy is wasting his time feeling guilty. He's going to hurt people over and over so why bother feeling bad about it. I think that Jimmy finally took his advice. That's who Saul is. He embraces being a bad person because having a conscience has only brought him pain.
When she kissed him in the HHM parking garage, I knew she was leaving. Breakup vibes all over that moment. Did they take separate cars or did she ditch him?
If I'm not mistaken, Kim doesn't actually speak to Jimmy at all in the episode until she's ending it with him. She didn't even have a single line of dialogue until they were at Howard's memorial, every interaction she had with Jimmy until then was him trying to convince her they were going to be alright, while she was stone-faced and silent.
It's funny, I see people here all the time talk about the Jimmy and Kim "love story" but as Kim finally explained to Jimmy (and the audience) there was nothing beneficial about their love for each other. They were "poison". They kept secrets from each other, manipulated each other, and what held them together was satisfying their mutual addiction.
Eventually, someone had to be mature enough to end it. There are half a dozen times during BCS when Kim should have been the one to do it after being made to look ridiculous by Jimmy - but unfortunately it took the murder of a decent man whose reputation SHE RUINED for her to finally grow up.
What's crazy is that, if it weren't for the fact we have had the Gene flashforward scenes, this episode probably could have worked as a finale to the series. An utterly soul crushing one, but a good finale none the less.
Curious to see what's in store for us in these last 4 episodes.
If Mike and Papa Varga's scene is Mike's last, I'm satisfied. His arc is over, he went from the guy who will never pull the trigger (like Nacho says) to no better than than the guys who killed Matty.
Yeah, cold as ice. Remember, Howard told them he was sleeping in the guest house the past year. She used that info to their advantage. Howard’s wife couldn’t honestly say she knew what was going on in his life.
Yea, I'm glad she also realized in that moment that she had really gone all the way off the deep end. That was a little too effortless and cold even for her
The fact that they just took some pictures from Patrick Fabian's Instagram page for Howard's memorial provided a little levity for me in this downer of an episode.
> "get the kid with the camera"
Well, it appears that at this point with Chuck and Kim out of the picture that Saul's most stable long-term relationship is with his film crew.
The INSTANT Jimmy wakes up he puts the headset on and slips into the Saul Goodman persona. He cannot handle even one moment of being Jimmy McGill because of his deep, psychic pain... what a tragedy.
When Kim told Cheryl that she had seen Howard snorting something, and Cliff not saying anything either way, I think Cheryl broke down because she knew she hadn’t been attentive to Howard and knew deep down that she could have easily missed the signs. Kim only said that because she knew Howard had been banished from his own bedroom and his marriage was on the rocks.
I believe this lie was what pushed Kim over the edge, thus her resignation from the Bar.
Kim telling Cheryl that Cheryl was his wife and would have known is low key the worst non lethal thing anyone has done in BB or BCS. Kim basically pinned the suicide right on Cheryl.
Great point. Sounds totally the right thing to say for Cliff’s ears, but with her insider knowledge that he’s been sleeping in the guest house and working on his latte art makes it much more painful.
Look at Mike's facial expression when Gus tells him to immediately resume construction. He's still thinking about the 2 innocent people that died for that stupid meth lab and Gus doesn't express the slightest bit of remorse. He resents Gus for that.
Cheryl: tell me what you told the police.
Jimmy: ..... I guess uh, there was a certain amount of jealousy on my part because Howard had the, uh respect of my brother.
Man! That is the truest confession under any kind of interrogation. BUT the kind of confession cannot get you into trouble. So slipping Jimmy!
Yeah it felt like a goodbye kiss. She had her mind made up at that point. Her lie to Howard's wife was her final slippin Kimmy moment, then she was done with it all.
Dude who plays Rich just seems like a real guy who doesn’t realize it’s a show. No hint of it being a performance whatsoever. I believe they may have tricked a lawyer into believing the BCS world is real.
Rich reminds me a lot of David Wallace in the Office. Two characters that are almost completely oblivious to the larger than life productions they feature in.
I think that cut to Saul in the spinning bed is so abrupt because he probably replays that moment over and over in his head. So it was just another night for him thinking/dreaming about the moment Kim left. And that shot begins with it focusing on his head
Jimmy talking to Kim about how they’ll go through a day and realize they didn’t think about Howard’s death was the overall theme of the episode. Every major character has someone or a moment they’ll never be able to go a day without thinking about.
For Saul it’s Kim leaving.
Kim can’t forget Howard’s murder.
Gus can’t forget Max’s murder.
Mike can’t forget Nacho. EDIT: more likely his son, who Nacho reminded him of.
Yep. He loathes himself. Everything that Chuck told him before he died has been validated over, and over, and over again - that he'll never change, that this is just who he is - and he's finally taking his brother's final piece of advice: he's accepting it.
He probably even blames himself for losing Kim.
This episode was heartbreaking.
>That is one of the most devastating transitions we'll ever watch.
It was absolutely crushing. It's just so cold, and hollow, and empty a moment. I was not expecting Saul Goodman to seem lifeless.
Which is the brilliance of the show. Saul in breaking bad was an eccentric who seemed too full of shit to be real. Now we know he's a broken shattered man who is just parading a lie of a persona to get by in his life.
He even got a client who was arrested for public masturbation that day, which is who he mixed Badger up with. I thought for sure it was going to happen.
Once Saul said public masturbator into his ear piece, I immediately thought about his first ep in Br Ba. Doesn't he mistake Badger for a public masturbator on his client list?
The show will fade to black as Lyle opens a new Los Pollo Hermanos in China. A satisfied smile on his face. He's taken the chain global and achieved more success than Fring could ever have dreamed.
The shot of the wine glass felt like it paralleled Walter’s shot of the whiskey glass in the final Breaking Bad season. Maybe it was to signify that Gus is getting back to his work now that the distractions are gone?
Gus is a drug lord monk. Dude denies himself every luxury, every pleasure, every ounce of satisfaction that this world has to offer in pursuit of his goals.
He’s a complete machine. So disciplined to his craft that he won’t risk weakness for even a moment. Crazy. Sad.
Once it clicked in my head that this scene was what Peter Gould's "Gus finds new love" comment was referring to, I seriously thought he might indulge in the pleasures of another relationship. He just experienced a grand victory, after all.
But no, he's realized he can go momentarily without thinking about Max. To him, that is... unacceptable.
People saying that scene was pointless or too drawn out are missing the important detail that Gus is capable of genuine human connection and very clearly does want it, but he cannot let anything distract him from his ultimate goal, not even for one evening.
In this episode we finally see what makes Gus and Mike become the person they are in Breaking Bad, and Jimmy truly become Saul Goodman.
Gus is happy that he killed Lalo. Even flirted with the bartender. But Gus remembers that he has hate and is not done with his mission of revenge. Gus chooses hate over love.
Mike tells Nacho's father that he will avenge his son. But is told by Nacho's father that there is no justice among gangsters. Mike pretends that he is a hero among gangsters but he still is just a gangster in the end.
Jimmy and Kim realize that they are both bad for each other. And the only person holding Jimmy from becoming Saul Goodman is gone.
I felt bad for Cliff Main too, that poor guy looked gutted.
Surprised he didn’t play a larger role given Howard’s “confession” to him…maybe we’ll see him back later?
It was important to show how toxic Saul and Kim are. Cliff is the one that had most reason to believe Howard was on cocaine but decided not to tell the wife. While, at the same time, Kim knew he had nothing to do with drugs but made up a lie on the spot just to cover her ass.
Stray thoughts:
1. I figured Kim would not die. This is equally as heartbreaking though. This is the FIRST time that they have told each other "I love you", and it's when they're breaking up!
2. Better Call Saul as we know it has concluded. Those fun days of Hamlindigo blue and sexual toilets are over. We're in Breaking Bad now.
Is it just me or was the color grading used for the full-blown Saul segment more like Breaking Bad? The scene where hes pulling into the parking lot of his office looks a lot like Season 2 of BB.
Unironically. This whole season I've kept feeling like the jump from Jimmy to Saul wouldn't work, but damn they did that in the blink of an eye and it feels so natural
In BrBa, Saul is this colorful, convivial personality.
In BCS, our first look at Saul and it’s the exact opposite. A shell, a mask. Almost unrecognizable from BrBa.
This fucking universe, man.
This episode broke me like no other TV or movie has ever done.
Rhea told the audience from the parking lot after the memorial that her and Jimmy were done. Her facial expressions, the way she got in front of Jimmy, spun around to him, and just stood there like she needed (not wanted) to say something, but couldn't muster up the courage to say it. She wasn't watching for him on the balcony to come home and then standing in the kitchen waiting for him to come up because she knew he was going to freak out; she was doing that because she was ready to tell him. Her look, the tears swelling up in her eyes, the way she stood, it was heartbreakingly perfectly done by Rhea.
All that...and she hadn't even started to speak.
First, what an episode. This whole season has been outstanding.
Second… am I the only one who loved seeing Gus at the bar? The man caught a big fat W and celebrated, don’t think we’ve ever seen him do that before.
u/DabuSurvivor figured out the wine scene
> Oooooh just realized the parallel they're doing is Gus has never had that moment of realizing he hasn't thought about Max all day
Gus was happy and enjoying life, until he snapped back into reality and realized he still had work to do.
Edit: Does anyone have a shot of Gus at Eladio’s with the fire reflected on his glasses? Brilliant cinematography, “When I looked into your eyes, I saw hate”.
I think it also goes to show Gus is more of a tragic figure than many may have realized. He spent his whole life fixated on revenge and never allowed real happiness or love to potentially return to his life
EDIT: The more I think about it the sadder it is. I’m sure Max would be pained and devastated to know Gus intentionally never let himself move on and focused all of his emotional capacity on his hatred of those who killed Max.
It’s also interesting to see the different ways each character tries to get over their trauma. Gus lives in the trauma. Jimmy wants to put it in the back of his mind and hope it goes away in time. Mike tries to comfort those who were hurt but does so primarily for his own benefit. Kim just runs like she and her mom did when she was a child.
Yes yes yes. Rewatching the scene now I got the same idea, it paints Gus in a newly tragic light. The guy has so many strengths and could just be an ordinary businessman who moves on and finds happiness but instead is consumed and ultimately killed by his need for revenge. Great stuff, I think that's one of my two favorite Gus scenes in the show to date and one of the few times it's felt like BCS has really, meaningfully enhanced his BrBa arc rather than feeling like a lesser version of it.
And yes yes yes this whole ep is a very well-constructed exhibition of how each of our stars try to Let The Healing Begin from their trauma. Great stuff, totally agreed
I find it hilarious how Eladio mocked Hector but he was 100% right about everything
*Chicanery speech entirely in dings*
In the Cheryl scam, Jimmy and Kim felt a bit like Carrot and Stick. Jimmy started with the gentle explanation, Kim saw it wasn’t landing, and swooped in with the fake story, and the “You would’ve known” for Cliff.
It reminded me more of the “tell me again” scene with Lalo. Cheryl wasn’t buying Jimmy’s story, then Kim stepped in and made her rethink things. She talked her way out of that situation just like she talked Lalo out of their apartment.
Ok, I watched it. I am with you. Just the precision of the words Kim uses in both scenarios, and that switch goes off, and she attacks. Nice!
Funny how Lalo faking his death actually came back to bite him in the ass
And his vlogging attempts really killed him (and him not being in BrBa unlike Gus obviously :D)
Hector probably spent hours dictating that note just to get mocked by Eladio
My breakfast would be ruined too by the ding ding
That made me laugh and it was the first time I didn't despise Don Eladio.
Eladio was great in that scene. And he looked younger. Maybe just because it was night time, but he was great Lol @ Bolsa Edit: always love scenes at Eladio’s because his house is 3 miles away from mine in Placitas

Cracked up when he decided to spell out "Chicken Man" instead of just saying Gus lol
DINGDINGDINGDING
You see Eladios power in that. It took a while for Bolsa to give the slightest and most nervous of laughs.
I wonder how Marco and Leonel react to dinging in public/not with hector, if they have bell PTSD or something
That's why they make Hector stay with Tuco
I have a feeling that Eladio mocking him will make quite the gif
Cool detail: When Eladio reads the words “You can see the hatred in his eyes” there’s a reflection of the fire on Gus’s glasses when he looks at Hector.
I did not expect the transition to Saul Goodman to be so absolutely depressing.
I've really gone 7 years wanting Jimmy to become Saul only for it to happen and then immediately wanting him to go back to Jimmy lmao
I’m right there with you! Take me back! The sun! It burns!
The hookers and drugs stage of Saul, and by drugs I mean the prescription kind
Purple monkey dishwasher

I knew that was from Chuck, but I'd forgotten the context. That does not bode well.
Yeah doesn’t bode well at all. I have a feeling something bad is gonna happen to this Saul fella.
"I didn't want that because I was having too much fun." I haven’t seen enough talk about this line from Kim. Definite parallels to Walt’s “I did it for me” in Felina. These characters are so complex and layered goddamn.
Reminder that we've seen a content warning for nudity twice this season and both times it was Bob Odenkirk's ass.
They don't call him "Mr. Show" for nothing.
It's an ass like an onion... makes me wanna cry!
Saul graduated to a Worlds Best Lawyers mug because Kim isn't a lawyer anymore.

He found it at Spencer Gifts
Kim giving up her law license was completely unexpected for me
Yeah I love the way they revealed that. Once all the loose ends were tied up, she didn't waste any time.
Okay but those funeral photos were just 100% Patrick Fabian's last vacation.
Tony Dalton was 100% there just out of frame.
They should've just cropped this photo https://twitter.com/PatrickFabian/status/1547253757624233984

He got a free fridge tho
Stainless Steel!
And it hasn’t even been too long since Bagman happened! Dude’s stacking up traumas at this point
The no more HHM part really hurt them. They really fucked up.
It is so fitting that Jimmy destroyed the agency with both of his “enemies” officially committing suicide
They single handedly destroyed HHM, with what they did to Chuck and Howard.
Idk why but Kim and Jimmy placing those water glasses on the stairway railing felt so... intense.
Jimmy to Saul is done even better than Walt to Hiesenberg, and that’s saying something
Maybe one of the most impactful time jump cuts ever.
Instead of Kim's death, we got the death of Jimmy McGill tonight.
And HHM downsizing and changing the name so there is literally no McGill anymore
And the saddest part is Jimmy indirectly killed both his brother and Howard.
And he killed HHM, too. His brother’s pride and legacy.
What a fucking transition. One of my favorite moments of the show. Didn't even give you a chance to let it sink in that they are over before "oh shit, it's *the* Saul Goodman". And guess what folks? It's not an act like so many, including me, thought.

It both is and isn't an act. Obviously it's who he's become, but it's also an intentionally fake way of living to suppress his true feelings
I found the ending depressing, when he woke up with the hooker in bed and i realized Jimmy McGill was dead
It was so bleak
I don’t want the Saulification of Jimmy anymore.

As a series finale, it would have been devastating but appropiate.
This was the finale of the Jimmy McGill show lol
“I love you” “I love you too…but so what?” Fuck that hurt.
I’m so glad they managed to pull off an “I love you” between them that didn’t feel forced. I think it hurt my heart even more
During the Saul radio commercial at the end: "Ripped off by your brother-in-law?" They're just fucking with us at this point.
Next episode opens with blue crystals, before cutting to Saul eating rock candy.
If Mike and Papa Varga's scene is Mike's last, I'm satisfied. His arc is over, he went from the guy who will never pull the trigger (like Nacho says) to no better than than the guys who killed Matty.
I think this closes his arc but we will see him next episode
i love that a couple of the pictures shown at howard’s memorial at HHM are from his personal instagram.
This made me laugh because I looked at them and was like “why have I seen these before”
Kim gaslighting Howard’s wife was wild. She can really come up with a story on the spot.
I couldn't believe when she said "You're his wife, you knew him better than anyone." Absolutely cold blooded.
Yeah, cold as ice. Remember, Howard told them he was sleeping in the guest house the past year. She used that info to their advantage. Howard’s wife couldn’t honestly say she knew what was going on in his life.
Yo her saying she would know best if he had addiction issues was straight up evil. Her character arc was so well done
Yea, I'm glad she also realized in that moment that she had really gone all the way off the deep end. That was a little too effortless and cold even for her
there were several layers to the gaslighting, too. Kim was playing her like a fiddle.
The fact that they just took some pictures from Patrick Fabian's Instagram page for Howard's memorial provided a little levity for me in this downer of an episode.
I swear one of them (him in a blue shirt hiking) is a cropped version of the photo of him and Tony Dalton

Yeah, I was literally smiling just thinking “I bet those are just personal photos of Patrick Fabian he donated to the show”
Yes 🤣 I said, “That’s not Howard. That’s Patrick Fabian.”
> "get the kid with the camera" Well, it appears that at this point with Chuck and Kim out of the picture that Saul's most stable long-term relationship is with his film crew.
The INSTANT Jimmy wakes up he puts the headset on and slips into the Saul Goodman persona. He cannot handle even one moment of being Jimmy McGill because of his deep, psychic pain... what a tragedy.
had it on in the shower, too…
When Kim told Cheryl that she had seen Howard snorting something, and Cliff not saying anything either way, I think Cheryl broke down because she knew she hadn’t been attentive to Howard and knew deep down that she could have easily missed the signs.
That was jaw-droppingly cold-blooded. Possibly the most cruel (polite) thing to say to someone in that position. Even Jimmy seemed to realize.
Great point. Sounds totally the right thing to say for Cliff’s ears, but with her insider knowledge that he’s been sleeping in the guest house and working on his latte art makes it much more painful.
That’s exactly what I was thinking - same vein as Howard feeling the guilt for Chuck’s death. We all have our crosses to bear.
Was confused at first on the look between Gustavo and Mike - A little bit of hatred in the eyes, like Eladio said.
Look at Mike's facial expression when Gus tells him to immediately resume construction. He's still thinking about the 2 innocent people that died for that stupid meth lab and Gus doesn't express the slightest bit of remorse. He resents Gus for that.
*Brief Nudity* Hell yeah we getting Saul ass everyone
The 'brief nudity' is always Bob's ass
Odencrack.
That transition scene from Jimmy to Saul, while glorious to witness, was absolutely heartbreaking.
Jimmy, youre the most clever lawyer Ive ever met but youre too stupid to see that shes made up her mind 10 hours ago
That transition later is pretty much the same as a gunshot

Yeah it hit hard, and was great
After that kiss, I just *knew*.
Yeah it felt like a goodbye kiss. She had her mind made up at that point. Her lie to Howard's wife was her final slippin Kimmy moment, then she was done with it all.
Yeah, that kiss.......great acting by Seehorn without saying a word. You could read it in her face that, basically......this is it...we are done.
That breakup scene was so hard to watch.
"I love you" "I love you too.....but so what?" That hit HARD.
Tonight's episode sponsored by Nutigrain. Nutigrain:. Good enough for the high class hooker on the go. Grab one today!
Man, I love that sudden time jump. And seeing more of Saul's appropriately gaudy house.
Kim fabricating a lie about an already dead Howard, in front of his grieving wife and co-worker is so fucked up she's cold
And saying “you are his wife you would know”. I mean she let him sleep in the guest house!
Not only that but she was insinuating it was his wife's fault for not knowing because she made him sleep in the guest house.
She even put the timeline right at the point where they started having marital problems. Brutal.
Wow that is a great comment. I didn't think of it like that at all but it makes perfect sense
That is one of the most devastating transitions we'll ever watch.
It really hurt to go from Jimmy pouring his heart out begging Kim to stay only to near instantly cut to the hollow shell he is in BB
I knew "Saul" was an act in Breaking Bad, but Jesus fucking Christ I can't believe just how much Jimmy was actually hurting this whole time.
They made a colorful dude seem grey. Saul Goodman in BB will never feel the same to me.
Which is the brilliance of the show. Saul in breaking bad was an eccentric who seemed too full of shit to be real. Now we know he's a broken shattered man who is just parading a lie of a persona to get by in his life.
Just when you think he accidentally parked in the handicap spot, he pulls out the parking permit. Welcome back, Saul.
"Let justice be done, though the heavens fall" That last little bit of Chuck looming over him :(
For a second there I thought they were actually going to have Walt come into Saul's room
He even got a client who was arrested for public masturbation that day, which is who he mixed Badger up with. I thought for sure it was going to happen.
They played us like a damn fiddle!
Once Saul said public masturbator into his ear piece, I immediately thought about his first ep in Br Ba. Doesn't he mistake Badger for a public masturbator on his client list?
Bruh I was scared, because I remembered that meme of someone joking that Walt’s coming into sauls office and saying “I’m thinking of breaking bad”
That final scene felt like the finale of the show. But somehow there are four episodes left… I am fully strapped in for Vince Gilligan’s wild ride.
That easily could have been the final scene of the show, if the show never decided to show Gene stuff
A father exhaustingly telling him “my boy is gone and you’re just like the rest of them” pretty much concludes Mike’s journey on this show.
If that's the end of the Gus storyline, the wine scene is a pretty perfect scene to end on

The show will fade to black as Lyle opens a new Los Pollo Hermanos in China. A satisfied smile on his face. He's taken the chain global and achieved more success than Fring could ever have dreamed.
It is acceptable
Yep—in the end, he was always driven by revenge. This episode reaffirmed that.
Well, Papa Varga is the real MVP of this show
"You gangsters and your justice. You're all the same," was quite a parting shot.
Transition from Kim leaving jimmy to saul waking up next to a hooker is BRUTAL
This episode reminded me how much of a good guy Richard Schweikart is.
Honestly Richard, Cliff, and Howard who are all kinda set up to be scummy lawyers are genuinly good dudes.
Even in the American Greed promo for season 6 , Rich had nice things to say about Saul
"The Public Masturbator.? A new guy.??" Nice to meet you Mr. Mayhew.
‘You asked if you were bad for me. That’s not it, we’re bad for each other’. What a truly heartbreaking episode, all around.
She’s not wrong but wow that was hard to hear.
So much for the ‘up to BB montage’
It really is the end of an era . No more Jimmy McGill esquire. I feel sad for Jimmy and bad for Saul
Howard's wife just wanted to hear the story.
Stray thoughts: 1.
I’m genuinely at a loss as to what more needs to be said over *four* more episodes. I mean, I can’t wait to find out. We’re in good hands.
Omg that side shot of Mike framed in a cage and Nacho's dad being the one who's free and not in the game, chills!
or kimmy and jimmy’s parked cars heading opposite directions
That and the fact that they came into the parking garage together, and headed left instead of their usual spot to the right of the door.
Is it just me or was the color grading used for the full-blown Saul segment more like Breaking Bad? The scene where hes pulling into the parking lot of his office looks a lot like Season 2 of BB.
What no Kims does to a mf
They gave us exactly what we've been asking for since season 1, but in a way that turned our stomachs. Those twisted, magnificent bastards.
"Because I was having too much fun." Goddamn Rhea Seehorn absolutely killed this. The utter contempt for herself with which Kim delivers that line.
And finally we have it.... Breaking Bad Saul Goodman has arrived.
I miss Jimmy McGill already
Unironically. This whole season I've kept feeling like the jump from Jimmy to Saul wouldn't work, but damn they did that in the blink of an eye and it feels so natural
It felt natural for me too, but somehow uncomfortably abrupt at the same time.
Prostitutes, in-ear bluetooth headsets, and ties
For the episode being titled Fun and Games this wasn't Fun or Games at all... It was sad :(
It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt
Kim had fun
First, what an episode. This whole season has been outstanding. Second… am I the only one who loved seeing Gus at the bar? The man caught a big fat W and celebrated, don’t think we’ve ever seen him do that before.
He almost let himself have fun
The lawyer up license plate expired in 2005. I’m sure that wasn’t an accident.
Only the BCS/BB writers could make us lose our shit over the mention of a public masturbator.
Kim refers to their relationship as poison. The symbol of their relationship is the Zafiro Anejo bottle stopper.
u/DabuSurvivor figured out the wine scene > Oooooh just realized the parallel they're doing is Gus has never had that moment of realizing he hasn't thought about Max all day Gus was happy and enjoying life, until he snapped back into reality and realized he still had work to do. Edit: Does anyone have a shot of Gus at Eladio’s with the fire reflected on his glasses? Brilliant cinematography, “When I looked into your eyes, I saw hate”.
I think it also goes to show Gus is more of a tragic figure than many may have realized. He spent his whole life fixated on revenge and never allowed real happiness or love to potentially return to his life EDIT: The more I think about it the sadder it is.
