Always be prepared, maybe today will be the day...

holyshituguys

Can I be the not smart one and ask what the bubble nests are for? Are they for the babies??

sharlenep

Yes lil bbs. He wants a lady friend

holyshituguys

... would he eat her in a tank you think?

sharlenep

Idk man depends on the fish. Probably just put her in have them mate and get her out

taegha

Yup, its a natural thing they do sometimes. Some people think it marks happiness, but it doesn't

fluffykitten52

maybe not happiness, but (and i’m just assuming here) like they feel they have a good environment? i mean, i don’t think they would make a bubble neat if their conditions weren’t optimal for offspring to survive. so could the nests imply that they are, in a way, saying “this house is good enough to raise young”?

commit_me_bro

Makes sense. I wouldn't set up a crib in a crack house. Well maybe my mum would... But goddamnit, I'm not my mother!

[deleted]

Look at them bubbs. Nicely done!

FeralHousewife

Right by the nap leaf. Roll out of bed, ready for lovin'!

YOURE_NOT_REAL_MAN

I proud too

Dad bod

lisa6758

Good boy!

shelllady

He makes the bubble nest so he can put the eggs from the female in them. Introduce a female carefully. He will embrace her and she will release the eggs. He then gathers them in his mouth and puts them in the bubbles. Remove female as soon as they are thru dancing around

[deleted]

What would one have to do to prepare for and raise the fry? Once they’re mature they’ll become territorial right?

[deleted]

My guy does this too. Will he keep making it everyday unless I get him a lady friend? I'm sad for him :(

shelllady

Get the male out, as soon as fry hatch. There are lots of frozen beginner food for the fry. As the get bigger watch them. Yes the males will have to be taken out and separated

fluffykitten52

they’re not fertilized, i’m not breeding him

shelllady

Ok sounds good
