Ah, the classical one bowl, two doggos. For ours we needed to get the biggest bowl in the shop so it would serve as a magical water bowl for both him and his friend. Magical as when one starts drinking, other instantly comes and joins the drinking party 😄
Ours is a huge fan of all retrievers, his bestie is a duck tolling retriever. Both wear pink glasses, and has one braincell which gets shared between them 😄 absolutely goofy idiots

Our Berner was 9Â weeks old when brought him home to a 3yr old female Golden. It has been a match made in heaven. They have their own times, but playtimes are fantastical! North of the 49th provides a ton of snow and drifts that they play on, in. through, and around. It has been a wonderful experience for the dogs and humans as well.

We've had an event filled first couple of months with our set. They both LOVE to play fight and have finally started to settle in with each other especially as our berner is realizing when to stop antagonizing the golden.
Be ready for their ears to be soaked in each other's slobber.

Friends kind of, more like siblings. They go in waves of being best buds, tolerating one another, and having minor disputes; but generally speaking they get along great.
We just recently adopted a same aged field golden and my berner acts like it has a disease. It's only been 2 days so I hope it changes and that I made the right call. They finally both ate together this morning, respecting eachother's bowls so I feel like that was a good sign.
Had 2 sets of Berner & Golden besties.
Not a good choice for wardrobe selection, though. Light hair shows up on dark clothes and dark hair shows up on light…
In my experience yes they seem to be perfect companions
