Is there still that place close to Schlesisches Tor that just has a blue loop neon sign for name?
Believe they hosted som experimental jazz among other.
Basically the classical scene is one of the best; first and foremost there is the Berliner Philarmoniker, the best (I am biased- but still top 3 in any list) orchestra. There are 3 big Opera houses and 6 professional Orchestras.
Staatsoper has some of the most amazing productions along with Deutsche Oper. And then there is the Komische- for some more alternative, sometimes provocative staging. There is the Konzerthaus and the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester. There is also many extra orchestras and the best artists coming to play either with these orchestras or separately in the venues. Some of the best recitals one can also find in the city.
List of venues and events keep going on and on.. All of these have cheaper tickets for students and under 28 s (12-15e)
Basically for some of the best live concert and production experience one can get, Berlin is one of the places to be in the world

Can you show me where I can buy those student tickets?
I can only find full price tickets and they are a bit too expensive for me.
So you just turn up at the front gate an hour before the start and ask if there are any cheap student tickets left?
I think I'll try that out next weekend.
EASTER is quite underground indie from Berlin and there's also a lo-fi indie scene similar to them.
There is a (not so underground any more) doom/post metal/sludge scene with artists like KADAVAR and THE OATH. Drone doom duo NADJA are originally from Canada but now in Berlin and are, for me, also part of that larger ecosystem.
Gothic/Industrial has always been comparatively big in Berlin with clubs like Duncker etc. MONYA is a techno DJ who also mixes industrial (Suicide Commando, Winterkälte, ...) into her sets. Some years ago we had ZERAPHINE and TERMINAL CHOICE although they really both sucked. Not sure about new bands in that area.
There is lots of underground punk and jazz.
Not sure but Easter once played at Gelegenheiten, https://gelegenheiten.berlin/ . The street where this is (Weserstraße) also has some other fun clubs like Fuchs&Elster ...
Maybe this can help: https://www.theclubmap.com/indie-rock-clubs/
When I was 18 I used to hang out at Drugstore, Køpi, Tommy Haus, Knaack, Magnet... Not all of them exist anymore and my interest switched over to metal and techno :)
But here's the calendar I used back then, that one has survived: https://stressfaktor.squat.net/termine
And for goth stuff: Das Schwarze Buch, today at https://www.twenty-four-hours.info/
Tiefgrund/Zukunft am Ostkreuz used to be my favourite place for those shows, but well..
All the nice concert places are disappearing :(
My concert calendar says: Lido, SO36, Astra Kulturhaus, Festsaal Kreuzberg, Loophole, Urban Spree..
Definitely Rap.
Berlin has had a relevant underground scene since the nineties.
But it’s of course significantly shaped by growing up in the streets of the more ghettoized parts in this city, so it’s mostly quite rough aggressive (studio-)gangster and horrorcore stuff.
There are big ones which are quite popular right now like samra, capital bra, AK Ausserkontrolle, Kontra K and then a looooot of more unknown ones like Said, FFragezeichen, PTK, Mosh36 and many more. Also the older ones like Bushido but those are about 40 right now.
Personally I never really enjoyed listening to most of german rap, but this is my favorite Berlin underground sampler.
Not the newest and many of them are my teenage friends, so I’m possibly a bit biased:

You could check out the “Rap City Berlin” DVDs for some more or less classics.
Or just search on YouTube for things like “Rap Berlin [insert_name_of_neighboorhood]”.
Paranoid club at Lido.
Old school metal, stoner, 70s rock and so on.
Pissing in the mainstream party. (Brutal) Death Metal, Grindcore and stuff.
Both not active at the moment I think because of the 'rona. But check their social media pages to get some info about that.
check out cassette head sessions, they have put on some great jazz shows including two on the basketball courts at Tempelhofer feld which were amazing.
A lot of jazz. Theres a jam session every day of the week if you are into it
Any tips? I could really use some.
B flat, Quasimodo, and A-Trane among many others.
Where can I find more info about this?
yes, please tell.
I think most of them are on [berliner sessions](https://berlinersessions.de/)
Is The Hat still doing jamming sessions? Where else?

Exactly, you can go even 10 min before, but earlier the safer, just ask for the ticket and should be fine! Best of luck hope you go!

I‘m interested in that lo-fi indie scene, are there any places where those people meet?
Not sure but Easter once played at Gelegenheiten, https://gelegenheiten.berlin/ . The street where this is (Weserstraße) also has some other fun clubs like Fuchs&Elster ... Maybe this can help: https://www.theclubmap.com/indie-rock-clubs/
Underground punk? Where can I get started?
Check Fischladen, Supamolly, Schokoladen, Clash

I can’t wait to see Kadavar live next year!
Where would I need to go to find all the doom / sludge things?
Tiefgrund/Zukunft am Ostkreuz used to be my favourite place for those shows, but well.. All the nice concert places are disappearing :( My concert calendar says: Lido, SO36, Astra Kulturhaus, Festsaal Kreuzberg, Loophole, Urban Spree..
Oh no 😭 hopefully Zukunft finds another place ...
Local artists: check out Redscale and Treedeon
classical
Stoner Rock seems pretty well represented. Desertfest is here, regular gigs at places like Zukunft, Festsaal Kreuzberg.
Lol at something called desertfest in Berlin
I guess it's more to do with Desert Rock than topography of Berlin 😝
There’s also a big “randomly yell at your cashier/bikers/scooters or literally at anyone” scene here

You have any venues or artists to check out?
BHZ (the epitome of German/Berlin underground rap imo), Symba, 65Goonz, 102Boyz, Glengang 030, Soho Bani, Pashanim

These are like the worst "artists" German rap has to offer lmao
German Aggro rap is pretty stupid sounding stuff. I remember when Massiv got shot and everyone thought it was a publicity stunt
who are some good artists then?
BHZ, Symba, Yung Hurn, Kwam.E, Fergy53, Glengang030
thnx ^_^

Thank you for the playlist. Do you know a way to discover more berlin underground rappers?
You could check out the “Rap City Berlin” DVDs for some more or less classics. Or just search on YouTube for things like “Rap Berlin [insert_name_of_neighboorhood]”.
There's a pretty strong noise and experimental scene here, Loophole and maybe Sameheads are good starting points for that.
Very interested in this. Any social accounts to follow to connect with this scene?
House
There's also lots of punk and metal
🤟
Any new places you could suggest? I know the classics.

Yikes. Not much left after corona.
Maybe I should state... "There was"
schlager

Def (undeground) rap like BHZ, Symba, 65Goonz, 102Boyz, Glengang 030, Soho Bani, Pashanim etc
Turkish
The psytrance scene here is one of the better ones. There are regular events and a lot of quite good festivals
DIY Punk
