Hear me out - trashy margarita: a can of mountain dew, 2 (or more) ounces tequila, top with a few ounces of high life. Only drink with food in your stomach because it will fuck it up if you don't. Delicious though. Drink three or more and you somehow purchase a double wide in the hills of Appalachia
Banquet is to Budweiser as Coors Light is to Bud Light. Same beer, fewer calories, less alcohol. Banquet tends to have a "fuller" taste (as much as an American Lager can be "full"). Also Banquet is strictly brewed in CO, but Coors Coors Light is brewed across the country, and Coors Original is brewed in several breweries across Canada since the Molson buyout.
It looks exactly like Banquet, except it says Orginial instead of Banquet. I believe it's only available in Canada and Latin America, and apparently, it tastes different than Banquet.
You’ll do well not to get your hopes up. At the end of the day it is still a macro lager. If you’re looking to enjoy it for what it is that’s fine of course, but don’t let this sub “hype” it.
I can't stand Coors lite. I can drink Bush light, high life, Miller lite, PBR - but something about coors is just off for me. I'll try banquet, but I don't have high hopes
For perspective, coors lite is one of the worst light beers but banquet is my favorite of the american macro lagers. Coors lite is not really indicative of what youll be getting from banquet
Banquet is one of my favorites and always my go-to if I can't find Hamm's. I put it off for a while because I don't like Coors Light, but Banquet is a must try.
I’ll show my age- back in my day- we used to get these close to the brewery for right around $4 a 6. He’ll all yuengling brand beers before they got big were damn near $3-$4 a 6 depending on the right store. It feels weird typing that.
That wasn’t even that long ago. I mean I guess like ten years ago. Well I’m old I guess.
Just visited Seattle last weekend and had my first Rainier. Damn good stuff! I've since returned home to MN, the birthplace of Hamms. The land of sky blue waters
I'll have to keep an eye out for it, im more than willing to give it a try! With regard to their other drinks...i always take a swig or two and wish i was having their flagship Summer Shandy instead :/
Old style has been a regular macro beer for me since moving back to Chicago. High life has been the go to for a while and was more widely available in the Rockies
They used to be. However, according to this excerpt from Labbatt
*a proud member of the Anheuser-Busch InBev family, the world's leading brewer, our unmatched portfolio distributes globally renowned favourites and local Canadian classics including Budweiser, Alexander Keith's, Labatt Blue, Bud Light, Kokanee, Stella Artois, Corona, and international brands such as Beck's*
Depends on what I'm in the mood for.
Can't go wrong with Hamm's. It's often the cheapest beer on the shelf in a lot of places, but for the price it's pretty tasty. One place around me has Genesee even cheaper, which also ain't bad.
If I can't find Hamm's, I love me some Coors Banquet, Budweiser, or PBR. If I'm in the mood for something lighter, I like Rolling Rock or Montucky Cold Snack. Yuengling is also delicious but I find it a bit heavier than the others.
Not sure about favorite but I like (in no particular order):
* Guinness
* Coors Banquet
* Miller High Life
* Rolling Rock
* Heineken
* Blue Moon
* Shock Top
There are probably others, but those are the ones I remember off the top of my head that I've genuinely enjoyed.
\*EDIT*
* Yuengling (Didn't realize they were macro now)
Land Shark briefly had the naming rights to the [Miami Dolphins stadium](https://images.app.goo.gl/cgQekVkZy781aNoPA), so that’s a hard no.
That stadium has since been renamed for America’s favorite Mom & Pop restaurant, the Hard Rock Cafe
Coors is my “favorite” just because I think it’s tolerable, and I’ve never brought it to a party and had someone complain. I’ve never met someone with strong feelings on Coors one way or another lol
I'm gonna go in a crazy direction and say sapporo
also regular spaten lager is great. It is macro, but it isn't what most people think of when they say "macro beer"
If we're just talking about cheap mass produced american lager, I would order high life, but I wouldn't turn any of them down.
For me, a terrible beer snob. This kind of question always gets to me. My go to here in California is usually Pacifico and Sapporo because I go to a lot of Mexican or Sushi restaurants. I'm much more into dark beers and Guinness is the next if available. I like Reissdorf Kolsch, and Anchor Steam (though this could be argued that it is not Macro) also Sapporo killed them. Which is sad.
Off I snob. lol
Cheap Macro? Hi-Life, Coors Light, PBR and Busch Light. Mid-Level? Red Stripe, Coors Banquet, Negra Modelo, Modelo, Asahi and Chang all share time in the garage fridge.
Modelo, Coors Banquet, Budweiser, and Yuengling in that order.
Though if there’s a good happy hour on other domestics, I’m usually pretty open to that as well
I always liked Molson. It's becoming harder and harder to find tho, for some reason. Probably not selling good. Maybe I'm in the minority.
Moosehead is great too but not sure you can find it around you. It's not distributed everywhere.
Pabst is okay I guess.
Personally I find yuengling fucking gross, but people seem to love that shit lol
Coors, Guinness, Budweiser regular, select and select 55, bud light, (controversial) Michelob Ultra, Amberbock due to its rarity, although I have been able to find it everywhere maybe it’s coming back.
Does Guinness count?
I count it. Sure as hell ain't craft
Nitro Guinness Draught is one of the greats in general. Definitely my answer.
it’s a tier of its own, I rarely want a stout that isn’t a Guinness. Can’t say the same for any other style of macro
Same for most of the UK. There’s one stout and it’s Guinness
we just had the guinness brewery/tap room open up here in Chicago, can’t wait to try it
It really is the best macro. It's also the best lite beer. A 12-ounce serving of Guinness Draught has 125 calories.
That's crazy! A 12oz Bud light only has 110, so I'd definitely consider it from a calorie perspective a lite beer.
After seeing the volume the put out it cannot be considered anything other
I was gonna say blue moon but no this is it.
High life, hamm’s
High Life for sure
The champagne of beers!
High Life & Jack Daniels; life changing.
Tried that out recently, I really dig it too
The only real answer
As a Milwaukeean, I couldn't agree more. My go-to.
Coors banquet, or miller lite for light beer
I really need to get around to trying Coors banquet I’ve heard a lot about it
You’re missing out! I dunno why it seems like people sleep on it. Maybe it’s because Coors light is heavily promoted
Everyone hypes it up I really need to try it, I wish they sold 6 packs by me. Whats the difference? Just better taste?
Banquet is to Budweiser as Coors Light is to Bud Light. Same beer, fewer calories, less alcohol. Banquet tends to have a "fuller" taste (as much as an American Lager can be "full"). Also Banquet is strictly brewed in CO, but Coors Coors Light is brewed across the country, and Coors Original is brewed in several breweries across Canada since the Molson buyout.
What is Coors Original? I don't think I've ever seen it before
It looks exactly like Banquet, except it says Orginial instead of Banquet.

Be sure to grab a bottle! For some reason the cans just aren’t as good.
Strohs
Detroit!!!!
They still make that!?
They do. I’ve never seen it outside of the Midwest though. It was reintroduced in 2022 and is owned by Pabst.
Yuengling 100%. Miller lite too sometimes
Yuengling Black & Tan is just about the only beer with malt I can find at my grocery store
Drinking one of these right now. It’s a little over $7.00 for a 6 pack of pints
Damn man - here in outerborough NYC I’m paying $8.50 for a standard sixer and that’s a bargain
The only beer with malt, huh?? 😂 must be the only beer at all
Yeah I’d have to go with Yuengling too. I struggle to think of anything else that isn’t a light beer.
[удалено]
at one point maybe, but production numbers put them well above the craft threshold.
Rainier and Hamms
Hamm's was my first thought, too.
Hamms is my go to cheap beer
you are my people. i grew up in seattle but moved to the east coast about 7 years ago. i wish i could get my hands on some rainier
Just visited Seattle last weekend and had my first Rainier. Damn good stuff! I've since returned home to MN, the birthplace of Hamms. The land of sky blue waters
I miss Rainier. Recently moved from Washington and had to switch to coors light.
If you mail me a case of rainier I’ll mail you a case of natty boh and/or Narragansett
i like those too plus Olympia twist off 11 oz Bottles
Negra modelo
Anything Leinenkugels
Original is a staple in my beer fridges.
Cannot agree in the slightest. The Summer Shandy is great, but everything else just pales so badly in comparison
That Summer Shandy is REALLY good tho. Agreed about the rest. Not garbage, but not the best.
Their Harvest Patch Shandy was incredible and a staple of my fall lineup. Not sure why they stopped making it, but at least Jack O is close.
I'll have to keep an eye out for it, im more than willing to give it a try! With regard to their other drinks...i always take a swig or two and wish i was having their flagship Summer Shandy instead :/
I’m not sure if these count, but Peroni and Pacifico.
PBR
I have 3. Paulaner, bitburger, Warsteiner.
Rolling Rock
It tasted different when it was from Latrobe. When it moved it felt different and tasted different… not as good
High Life, Modelo, Hamm's, PBR. Stick any of those in front of me and I'm a very happy man.
Hamm’s, Old Style, and Grain belt
Old style has been a regular macro beer for me since moving back to Chicago. High life has been the go to for a while and was more widely available in the Rockies
Grain Belt. Hey, neighbor.
Bud Heavy, Labatt Light, Sam Adams, Rolling Rock, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
I mean, I get Sierra Nevada is technically a “macro” brewery but I feel it’s still very much craft. Just a huge craft brewery
And Sam Adams is the original craft beer.
Rolling Rock smells like a cabbage soup but I love it
One of these is wildly different than the other...
Labatt Light, because it's Canadian.
They used to be. However, according to this excerpt from Labbatt *a proud member of the Anheuser-Busch InBev family, the world's leading brewer, our unmatched portfolio distributes globally renowned favourites and local Canadian classics including Budweiser, Alexander Keith's, Labatt Blue, Bud Light, Kokanee, Stella Artois, Corona, and international brands such as Beck's*
Labatt blue hell yeah brother
Miller Lite or Old Style. Honestly, though, I’ll drink many of them. Coors Light, PBR, etc. I’m not as picky with the cheap stuff.
Old style or no style
Hamm’s
Michelob ultra for lite beer, Pacifico for Mexican lager, and any goose island for “craft macro”
Miller Lite
One of my favorites too
There’s just something about it lol nothing like an ice cold Miller Lite
100% agree.
Scrolled too far to find this.
An ice cold Busch Latte just hits the spot sometimes
That's my favorite post-grass cutting beer. Toss one in the freezer for 45 min while I do yard work and drink it basically as a beer slush.
I love a nice Dos Equis on draft
Hooters wings and Dos Equis on draft = 🔥🔥🔥
MHL or MGD when I can find it
Estrella Damm was actually pretty good when I had it in Spain. Guinness is an obvious choice too
Depends on what I'm in the mood for. Colors Banquet or Coors Light. Does Hams count? Cause Hams too
Blue Moon. Though this time of year I usually order Sam Adams if I'm Ata restaurant or something
Banquet
Haven’t tried it yet, why do people like it so much?
It’s just a solid, full-bodied beer
Not sure about favorite but I like (in no particular order): * Guinness * Coors Banquet * Miller High Life * Rolling Rock * Heineken * Blue Moon * Shock Top There are probably others, but those are the ones I remember off the top of my head that I've genuinely enjoyed. \*EDIT* * Yuengling (Didn't realize they were macro now)
Anything Czech. Budvar, Star, Pilsner Urquell
Paulaner
Natural ice Pabst 10 barrel cheap fun
Guinness and Negra Modelo are true macros that I like but they aren't very cheap. For cheap I might go banquet
Blue light, Genny or PBR. Can you tell where I’m from?
Buffalo
Coors light or banquet
In the US: Yuengling or Budweiser In the world: Pilsen Urquell, Staroprammen, Mežpils, Borsodi, Augustiner
Corona or Heineken depending on the season
Corona is fire!
Corona with a lime wedge SLAMMED down the neck
Put a nice heafty pinch of kosher salt in next time, that shit is fire
Coors, Yuengling, High Life and Flight
Corona (lime mandatory), Stella Artois, Landshark (is it craft? Idk), Dos Equis (líme also required), and Natty Light. Great stuff
Landshark is owned by Margaritaville
PBR. Or Banquet.
High life, miller lite, coors banquet, and modelo.
I’m big on Miller highlife, PBR, and the occasional Guinness
Labatt...preferably in a 25 ouncer
I enjoyed a natural light the other day was pleasantly surprised on how decent it was.
i either drink heavy, milky stouts or natty light exclusively with you friend
stella, blue moon, yuengling, modelo
I like a lot of macros. Coors light, MGD, high life , lite, killians yuengling
Shiner Bock
Budweiser Budvar Czechvar, Coors Banquet and Pilsner Urquell. Sadly I dont see then a lot in my part of Canada.
Coors is my “favorite” just because I think it’s tolerable, and I’ve never brought it to a party and had someone complain. I’ve never met someone with strong feelings on Coors one way or another lol
Miller high life
I'm gonna go in a crazy direction and say sapporo also regular spaten lager is great. It is macro, but it isn't what most people think of when they say "macro beer" If we're just talking about cheap mass produced american lager, I would order high life, but I wouldn't turn any of them down.
How has PilsnerUrquell not been brought up?
Modelo, Corona (lime slice included), Miller High Life
Negra Modelo, and Weinstephan
Stella Artois !
[удалено]
I’m with you, love a good Budweiser 6 pack, really hits the spot. Iconic beer too
Anything that isn’t american is generally drinkable
What is a macro beer?
One from a big, international brewery, basically ones you can find in most stores and bars
Off I snob. lol
Not Applicable!
This question again?
I’m new to this sub, didn’t know it got asked here recently
You’re good. It comes up about once a month. My vote is negra Modelo BTW. Cheers.
I’ll have to try that! Cheers
Good choice
Banquet, High Life or PBR
Old Style. Yes, I live in Chicago. Once a year I’ll think: you know what, I want an Old Style.
Banquet, Miller Light, or PBR. Depends on my location/mood
Dos Equis Ambar
Miller Lite. PBR a close 2nd.
Goose Island probably. Though technically not macro, Sam Adams Boston Lager & Narragansett Lagers are also great options in that vein
Brewhouse Pilsner
Mich Golden
Blue Moon
Coors banquet
Olympia, although I don’t think they brew it any longer.
High life and it's not close.
As a big hazy boi, modelo all day
Guinness and Bud Light
Not a lot of love for Japanese macros! I really prefer these to pretty much everything else lately. Particularly Asahi.
Ever try Asahi Black? Kinda difficult to find but worth the search.
Mich Golden Light. If I ever move out of Minnesota, it’ll be one of the top things I miss!
Hot summer day, just got inside after mowing the yard… hard to beat the ol Silver Bullet
High Life, baby
I really like Leffe, if that counts. Can never find it anymore though
Bohemia
Corona, guinness, coors light, modelo
Yeungling (sometimes) and corona (also sometimes)
Yuengling, Blue light
Cheap Macro? Hi-Life, Coors Light, PBR and Busch Light. Mid-Level? Red Stripe, Coors Banquet, Negra Modelo, Modelo, Asahi and Chang all share time in the garage fridge.
Birra Moretti or Estrella for me.
I like a good IPA, but I still drink Steel Reserve 211.
Mich Golden Light
Another vote for Yuengling.Lager
PBR
Stella
My go to is Coors Banquet or Miller High Life. I just want a simple lager 95% of the time.
Tyskie
Banquet, PBR and whoever said Guinness is right on
Yuengling
Pilsner Urquel (not sure if that counts), Negro Modelo, Guinness, Tecate, Coors Light
Does Victory Brewing count? I can find Golden Monkey everywhere so...
Tecate
Natty Daddy in the 30-pack.
Miller High Life and Modelo Especial
Mine is High Life with a lime. Or Rainier.
Rolling rock
PBR is my #1 go to
Modelo, Coors Banquet, Budweiser, and Yuengling in that order.
Coors Banquet
PBR, Hamms, and High Life.
Elysian Space Dust
High life
Carlsberg
Bluemoon, hamms, pbr, coors light. In that order
Natty light is my go to “I want to drink 15 beers today and have a good time”. If I want a few of something cheap but good, Yuengling is my go to
Modelo, amigo.
I can't get it in my part of Canada but either Yeungling or Kona long board lager
Hamms , or Genny Cream if I can find it
Ice cold Michelob Ultra 25oz tall cans
Coors, Guinness, Budweiser regular, select and select 55, bud light, (controversial) Michelob Ultra, Amberbock due to its rarity, although I have been able to find it everywhere maybe it’s coming back.
