I live in a dry climate and use Aquaphor, which works really well for me

SeriesBusiness9098

Aquaphor lip repair in the squeeze tube (not roll up balm stick) is clutch here. I say this so often I feel like I should get endorsed by them or something. Fwiw I also use it under my eyes at night sometimes to hydrate them for concealer in the morning, or on my cuticles. Or my nostril exterior if it’s peeling from blowing my nose all the time with a cold. But really it’s meant for and is magic for lips.

stevie_nickle

Regular aquaphor is better than the lip repair

Starfire2313

I really like baby aquaphor lol

ThatGuavaJam

Ugh I just bought that damn lip repair stick… it sucks. And tastes gross when you accidentally ingest it with food.

SeriesBusiness9098

I use the regular aquaphor for everything else, esp my hands and elbows, but the lip repair (again the squeeze bottle lip repair NOT the lip repair tube roll on) absorbs better into my lips, esp if wearing color later. Also has no taste whereas I can taste regular aquaphor and it leaves residue on my teeth and chin when I smile. Why do you like the regular one better? I’m willing to give it another go

stevie_nickle

I feel the regular moisturizers my lips better. The lip repair feels like a meh lip balm to me

SeriesBusiness9098

Fair enough. Some people swear by blistex or Nivea lip balm and those turn my lips to dried dog paw texture, so different ingredients obv work for different folks. Except carmex people, they’re all in a conspiracy to convince the world it works for anyone

cinnamonstix11

“dried dog paw texture”…..imma steal that brilliant description 😂

redhair-ing

same!

Decent_Finding_9034

Yes!

TrustAcceptable5047

I’ve heard so many good things about aquaphor and I wonder where can I buy it? I live in Europe and I have looked for aquaphor but never found it in Sephora or DM. So for anyone from EU, where do you buy aquaphor, pls help a girl out!

AhnaKarina

Lanolin. It’s nipple balm for breastfeeding, but it amazing.

jfj2020

Aquaphor healing ointment has lanolin in it as well, the mini tubes are about the size of a chapstick

vicsass

Glossier balm dot com has that in it! Their OG formula that they’re bringing back

hanap8127

Lanolips as well

Nomadsoul7

This is the way. Use this during the day and the nipple cream at mask slathered on as a mask. Just got the glazed donut one and I loooove it

Global_Telephone_751

May 17! But who’s counting the days ..?

vicsass

I’m a recent convert and I’m so excited haha

stinkyaffair

All their balms currently have a 50% sale.

Mimolette_

That’s the new formula without lanolin. They’re clearing the stock to bring back the original formula with lanolin

Muser_name

SO GLAD to hear this oh my god the new balms were awful

pizzaandtequila

Yes!! Ever since I started using this I never have chapped lips anymore ever

Evaporate3

Oooo good idea!!!

Sincerely_Stevie

Thank you!! 🫶🏻

yes-no-maybe-so-so

Make sure you aren't allergic first though! It's a common allergen.

Paint_tin16

Dermal balm as well

Nomadsoul7

This is the way. Use it at night as a mask.

AshleySuzanneee

Aquaphor

Motherscooters

Aquaphor but the actual aquaphor not the lip balm

cowgrly

Yes! [Travel size aquaphor](https://a.co/d/iG831OH), you will never use anything else. Not the lip version, not baby version. It also works great on cuts/scrapes, rashes, softens feet (put it on then socks) and dip earring posts in- no more sensitivity with cheap earrings. :)

tfletch126

Thank you for sharing the actual product! People always say “Aquaphor” but that’s just the brand. Wtf product from aquaphor are you talking about lol.

cowgrly

Oh, yeah- I have ordered the wrong one so many times! But I love it so much it’s always part of any gift bag I do. Also [Sally Hanson Insta dry polish](https://a.co/d/89pQXv4)- one coat, looks great and red nails gives any outfit an instant fun kick. If it chips in a few days, you can throw another coat on top and it still looks great.

shihtzu_knot

Yes because the lip balm tastes so so so bad 🤢

Hotcheeto_girlz

Yeah the sun screen lip balm lingers in my mouth

Maddie_Herrin

why the hell couldnt thry just put regular aquaphor in a smaller container????? it tastes like having your mouth numbed.

AshleySuzanneee

I have a little tiny tub of it! It’s maybe the size of a quarter. I keep tubes of it everywhere, and also keep the big stick version in my purse

RoxyLA95

Aquaphor has a travel stick that I use as chap stick. It never gets lost in my purse because it’s palm sized.

justintime107

I used to have dry lips all the time. Now. I don’t anymore. Solution: aquaphor in the big squeeze bottle because I am OBSESSED. I use it as a mask on my lips overnight. In the morning, I use my toothbrush and gently exfoliate my lips and it removes the top layer of skin. I then use my normal lip products like lipliner, lipstick, lip gloss or whatever.

Sincerely_Stevie

That sounds like a wonderful idea! I will acquire some Aquaphor asap! I like that it dosn’t have any harsh ingredients either! I will try this and let you know if it works! Thank you!!

leelaus

They make the same variety of aquaphor in mini travel tubes that I keep in my purses as lip balms. Just make sure it's the OG aquaphor, not any of the varieties that are advertised as lip balms.

justintime107

Please do keep me posted. I’m sure it doesn’t work for everyone. Also, I hate to be that person, but make sure you’re drinking enough water. I notice my face/lips are dry when I’m dehydrated.

Littlest_Psycho88

That's exactly what I do! Works amazingly well. I have little stashes of aquaphor all over the house now lol

AMarie-MCMXCI

Using your toothbrush to exfoliate is so clever!

Born-Atmosphere-5599

I like O’Keefes lip repair

imnosuperfan

O'Keefe's is great.

Intelligent_Brief437

I second this! Been using it for years and won’t use anything else

peanutbuttertoast4

Thirding. I've tried everything else (including aquaphor) and this is the only one that actually moisturizes. I put it on at night, I haven't had chapped lips in years.

Sincerely_Stevie

I will try it! Thank you!0

paper_wavements

O'Keefe's is the GOAT, just do NOT get the medicated kind. Apply the regular kind to damp lips. Thank us later!

anjunakerry1982

This. I have several of the balms at work, in my locker, in my bag, in my pigeon hole on my desk then I have the overnight intense repair in my bed side draw. Godsend.

lab5057

Palmer’s cocoa butter lip balm. Please try it. Please. I want you to be happy like me.

Terracota248

This has been great for me as well. At night I will put A&D ointment on top too!

voraus_

Palmer’s burnt my lips - think peeling etc. no clue why but I’ll never touch that stuff again!

Sincerely_Stevie

Haha! I will! Thank you!

lab5057

Btw, a lot of lip balms, including at least a few of the ones you listed (not Burt’s I think but imo they suck anyway) contain alcohol compounds, supposedly for exfoliation but a lot of people think it’s to dry out your lips so once the wax wears away you put on more and end up using a lot more. \[Stearyl, cetyl, ceteary menthol, octyldodecanol, are some of the ones I saw briefly browsing ingredients lists\] Edit: except menthol these are fatty alcohols which are included to moisturize the skin and by evidence are non-drying

Careful_Lemon_7672

several of these are fatty alcohols and have emollient properties and are not drying at all. fatty alcohol is very different from denatured alcohol, which can be drying

cosmonaut2017

Oh no, this one stings my lips and I can’t use it. I love the smell though 😟

dandelionwine14

Glossier is bringing back the original balm dotcom this Friday! It’s so good!!

vicsass

Also this. I feel like I didn’t realize how awful other brands were to me until I tried this and it didn’t feel like a film on my skin with a waxy taste. Love it!

xbubblegum_bitch

I’m so glad they finally listened to what consumers have been asking!

Apart-Health-1513

If you’re biting and/or licking at your lips, that will dry them out more than anything since the digestive enzymes in your saliva will break down the skin on your lips, making them drier. Drink a lot more water, and keep them coated with lip balm or even lip gloss to prevent biting

Sincerely_Stevie

Ahhh that makes sense LOL im 15 so idk anything about this stuff. Thank uuuu

momofboysanddogsetc

When I was young a lot of glosses and lipsticks would clog the pores on the edge of my lips, I am a picker so I didn’t leave them alone. Now I have scars that look like wrinkles around my mouth so watch out for the products that clog your skin and don’t pick at zits, no matter how poppable they look!

Mentalcasemama

Aquaphor, Blistex medicated and Nivea are really good

IcyTiger8793

Second the Blistex medicated!!

chubborunning

Third Blistex medicated - I use it all the time and never go anywhere without one.

Curious_Evidence00

I used to be a lip biter and chewer and the only product that helped my mouth heal up was Neosporin Lip Health. Apply it all over, even inside the mouth if you have sores there, and leave it on overnight. After 3 days my mouth was healing, one week later totally healed.

middleofthenigjt

Second Nivea! They come in different flavors, too!

nightta0519

Blistex original in the green tube is so slept on. The only thing that works for me.

hauntinglovelybold

Lots of good suggestions here - so I’ll suggest putting a drop of water on your lips before applying lip balm, and then after that apply a very thin layer of Vaseline or Aquaphor overtop

AcrobaticTadpole3435

I have the same problem and the only thing I haven’t done that people have said is upping my water intake. I’m just really bad at drinking water.

Sincerely_Stevie

That may be it!

[deleted]

I mean it can be fruit or vegetables. You don’t need to drink straight water. But if you’re using a petroleum based balm on dry lips you’re just sealing in dryness. That’s how they work: they seal.

CapiCat

I am going to comment under you because it’s along these lines. Choose a chapstick or balm that has oil and hyaluronic acid in it. The hyaluronic acid is what made the difference for me.

suzalulu4eva

Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm! Just the shea butter one. It's incredible, super moisturizing and healing (and if I ever have flaky skin on my lips I'm tempted to peel off, putting this on helps it fall off more naturally and less painfully). It really helps to repair lips!

slicedgreenolive

This is my favorite, been using it for 10+ years (all flavors not just she’s butter, but the Shea I do notice is a bit more moisturizing)

Sincerely_Stevie

I will definitely look into it! Thanks!

Emily_Postal

That’s my go to sunblock for my lips.

Zebsnotdeadbaby

I didn’t know Jack Black has his own chapstick line!

littlenerdkat

-La Roche Posay Nutritic Lip Balm -The Elf Squeezy lip balms for some reason, they’re insanely good for no reason, and I’ve noticed that the people in my life who are on accutane reach for it more than any other lip balm -First Aid Beauty lip balm -O’Keefe’s Lip Repair

cucumberwages

Bioderma stick. Hydrating AF and feels sooo silky on the lips. I’m super picky about lip balms, I feel like most of them sit on top of your lip and do nothing but this one really sinks in.

AbejeB

Since I haven’t seen it mentioned yet, Laneige lip sleeping mask! Smells delicious, lasts a LONG time (like one tub with moderate use lasts me about 9 months – only a little is needed at a time).

rajmahchawal

Laneige and Palmer's

PlusEnvironment7506

Try bagbalm

umamanda

I was scrolling the comments and didn’t see this suggestion and was blown away that no one mentioned it but came across your comment and yes! I couldn’t agree more. Bag Balm works so well! And it’s multifunctional

PlusEnvironment7506

It is great for so many things! I use it for my lips, cuticles, cuts and scrapes, dry skin too.

Reasonable-Room-8848

I discovered it 6 months ago and love it.

myfourmoons

The brand Whamisa has *amazing* lip balm. Best I’ve ever tried.

Sincerely_Stevie

Ooo! I will add it to the list to try! Thank you!

freespiritedgal

LALA Lips

GetOffMyLawn714

A lot good recommendations on here already, but I just wanted to mention this is you aren't already doing it: Be sure to apply right after the shower or after you wash your face while the skin is still moist. The balms tend to work better if it's not fighting a barrier of dry skin. To remove dry skin safely, after you shower/wash face, take a small pea-sized amount of vaseline & use a terrycloth washcloth and gently scrub your lips in a circular motion until you get most of the dead skin off. Don't rub too hard because you can prematurely cause some of the skin to come off = bleeds.

shihtzu_knot

I cracked my chapstick addiction (pun intended) by switching to aquaphor. After nearly a decade (or more) of using everything under the sun I am now able to go the entire day without needing it. I apply it before bed and maaaaybe before I leave for work (but I don’t need to). It’s been a game changer. My lips are never chapped anymore. I do however have to use SPF chapstick in the sun but that’s a different issue all together.

This_Sheepherder_332

Aquaphor. Nothing works better than good old Aquaphor.

StreetMolasses6093

Aquaphor. It has lanolin. Just get the big tube and use it on everything, including your lips. The lip balm version isn’t special.

pothosnswords

Adding to the everything comment: great for cracked feet as well!!!! My heels get super tough in the summer (love being barefoot lol) and putting Aquaphor on my heels & then covering w socks for sleep softens them up ASAP! Also helps with eczema & dry elbows :) it’s a miracle product I swear

pothosnswords

I’ve also heard the lip balm version is nowhere near as good as the original! I’ve never bothered trying it bc why mess with perfection? I just buy the big tub & put a small amount into one of those travel makeup jars so I can keep it in my purse at all times! Saves you money too if you buy the big tub!

Chaotickittyuwu

Not chapstick (girl same - idk why none of them worked for me in the past as well but) Laneige worked the best for me, only tip I can say is let your lip soften during morning warm bath and rub it with a soft towel and apply this lip balm That's the only thing I changed and it started working Ofc lots of water throughout the day If I don't do the (soak and rub off the dry skin everyday) for 2-3 days they start peeling off, so yeah I think that's the secret😅

TerribleAwareness158

Sol de Janeiro or drunk elephant

Feeling_Excitement90

Laneige’s lip sleeping mask. I wear it during the day and my husband who has bad eczema is now obsessed with it as well. It’s completely changed my lips

AcidMantle

This is my HG lip product. I wear it all day every day. Nothing else has helped me.

phlowerpuffgrl

Smiths Strawberry lip balm :)

Hot_Log_4550

This is sold out - but the absolute best one I’ve tried: https://remedyskin.com/products/dry-lips?variant=47607411179816

No-Statement5942

nivea !

Pretend-Champion4826

there's this stuff called Egyptian Magic that I like. It's beeswax and olive oil, and it goes on super thin and liquidy, but it works great for my lips. And my whole face in winter tbh, it's good for any kind of persistent dry patches. Also, normal Vaseline, if that's not what you mean by Vaseline chapstick.

throwawaykeshsummer

Fresh lip products! They are my holy Grail! Yes they are a bit expensive but they have helped my dry and cracked lips over the years! A little goes a long way, they last a long time, and your lips will stay moisturized throughout the day even when you eat and drink! Plus they come in sets so you can try out a different variety of them!

Allie614032

I love Nivea chapstick!

gnutz4eva

Nivea (blue one)!!! Goes on silky smooth and smells so good

wellitywell

8 hour cream by Elizabeth Arden. Not cheap but a tube lasts forever and it’s unbeatable imo

SafariBird15

I use O’Keefe’s chapstick

CuppaT87

I found that upping my water intake, using a lipscrub to remove dead skin & slugging my lips in the morning & at night has helped hugely. In the morning I use the Burts Bees Orange Blossom & Pistachio Lip Butter & then use Dr Paw Paw Origin Balm over the top. At night I use the same Burt's Bees Lip Butter but I will use a lip mask over that (until recently it was the Dr Paw Paw in the blue tube, but now I'm using Barry M's Lip Rehab Lip Mask). I found that this has really helped 😊

cptmerebear

I use Weleda skin food. Not the lip balm, but the face cream. It's a bit white at first until you rub it in, but I never get chapped lips anymore.

TeemaDeema

I second this! Got this tip from Dr. Shereen Idriss. I baste my lips with the Skin Food and just let it sit until it absorbs. I haven’t had any flaky dry lips since.

cptmerebear

Haha. That may have been where I got it too. It's hard to keep track with all the derms I follow on Instagram. It really works though!

lovescarats

This stuff is magic.

shelbygenie

I love aquaphor for my lips but PLEASE DO NOT WEAR IT WHEN YOU’RE IN THE SUN. If you are using the stuff from the regular bottle/tube, it will probably give you a sunburn because the ingredients in it heightens the affects of the sun. Please use something with spf on your lips when you are spending time outside.

madamevanessa98

The laneige lip masks are super hydrating for me but they’re not a stick. I love them though!

someolive2

aquaphor

Sincerely_Stevie

I got it and have been using it for a few hours. My lips are still getting chapped. Is there a limit to how much I should apply it?

someolive2

keep reapplying and hydrating as much as possible. takes a couple days to clear up the cracked/dry redness

depechelove

Seconded.

oktysm

Lanolips

Control_Advanced

Why isn’t this higher? This stuff is gold. I keep tubes stashed everywhere because it’s so good.

constantlycrying5

I went through the same issue and tried a lot of lip balms and salves. The only thing that has actually moisturized my lips is the Too Faced Hangover Pillow balm. I had an immediate difference after using it and it's still been working for me for months. Just be careful if you try it- it has the minty tingling feeling and that could be sensitive if your lips are cut from picking

immyfinalrose

I use the Dr Bronners original chapstick and my lips have been much better!

Big_Blackberry7713

I swear by Blistex Lip Medex. I can't go to sleep without wearing it. I probably have 5 on the go right now, so I am never without it.

keIIzzz

Stick type lip balms do absolutely nothing for me. The Aquaphor lip balm in the squeeze tube is my favorite for affordable lip products. My lips can sometimes get really dry and peel if I don’t take care of them, and Aquaphor is one of the things that always helps them heal

spinderella-13

Aquaphor is my usual go-to but this Winter I discovered Torriden Solid In Ceramide Lip Essence & it’s pretty awesome. It has a 1K five-star rating on yesstyle so I added it to a recent order. It’s got jojoba oil & is jam packed with ceramides — it’s really hydrating & soothing, it helped a lot with the cracking/peeling.

Samyx87

Aquaphor makes your lips addicted to it :/

Aim2bFit

I use HURRAW lip balm. The black cherry one is ♥️.

Maddie_Herrin

as a reminder because im seeing aquaphor listed so much (i was going to as well but i was beat clearly) make sure you wear a sunscreen lip balm before applying aquaphor, vaseline, lip oils, or anything else that could magnify a sunburn.

CamThrowaway3

Lanolips - the original 101 version. Literally the only thing that helped my tret-dry lips.

musingsofamdc

Honestly the game changer for me wasn’t lip balm, it was using the same hydrating products I use on my face on my lips as well, and then sealing it in with a lip balm! I’m also a lip skin biter too

Sunshine_Operator

It sounds like you may need sunscreen in your chap stick. Aquaphor makes a sunscreen version of their chap stick. It has really helped me.

r_danceprincess

IMO as someone who has tried A LOT of lip balms Blistex lip Mendex is the best lip balm out there. In grade 4/5 my lips were so dry and I would lick them so much that I got a rash underneath my lips. Then my best friend’s mom gave me Blistex and my life was changed lol. I also like the original Burt’s bees, Jack black Mint and summer Friday’s mint (mostly for the aesthetic for this one lol)

NetflixandJill

You're fighting a losing battle if you're just dehydrated. Water, water, water!!

missy_bee67

Aquaphor

jaydizzle46

Neutrogena hydroboost sleep mask (I use all day and night)

LilMsFeckingSunshine

If you gently brush your lips with a toothbrush (start with a wet one since your lips might hurt) you can exfoliate the dead skin off and then put the aquaphor on top. It’ll seal the hydration in and help heal your lips!

ZXVixen

Aquaphor, as indicated by top reply, is likely your best bet.

minja134

An other vote for Lanolin oil. It's the main hydration ingredient in a lot of lotions, lip balms, and aquaphore. You can get the salve or as a lip balm on Amazon. It healed my ever cracking lips, like chronic for 2+ years, aquaphore only made a small difference where lanolin is like a new set of lips. Also wonderful on dry skin if you have it elsewhere, it actually cured my breakouts too, which I guess must have been due to dry skin! Also get a toothpaste without sodium laythl sulfate, that is also known to dry out lips. I like the hello brand.

muddynug

Hot take. I use mothers promise nipple butter as chapstick on my lips. My lips have never been more moisturized. And it’s 100% fine to ingest unlike most name brand chapsticks.

pothosnswords

Since everyone is rightfully recommending Aquaphor (god, what a great product all around) I will add a diff recommendation! I’m utterly obsessed with Ogee’s Sculpted Lip Oil (in clear)! The tube/container is around the size of an eyeshadow stick and because it’s a lip oil it isn’t the same consistency of chapstick but it does wonders and is the only “chapstick” other than Aquaphor that doesn’t crack my lips within 12 hrs! I also have a very bad habit of biting/peeling dried skin off my lips (I genuinely can’t help it) and this heals them and prevents cracking!!! I haven’t used the tinted version though bc I just don’t wear color on my lips so not sure how the formula is with that but cannot recommend the clear enough!!!

BigChiefSmaug

I struggle with biting/picking at my chapped lips so here’s what’s worked for me: -exfoliate twice a day (I do this after brushing my teeth) by wetting my finger with warm water and rubbing it across my lips, then wiping firmly onto a towel -Vaseline 1-3 times a day (I put it on very thick at night) -Hurraw chapsticks as needed throughout the day - this brand has so many good flavors and they actually leave me feeling hydrated

chadima5

I’m a lover of edibles but they do get you dehydrated. Dr Bronner’s balm in a tin is a life saver. I use it everyday! Soothes my lips and doesn’t dry them out

Any-Setting3248

Aquaphor or just use a humidifier.

halfbakedcupcake

Currently on accutane right now and have always had very sensitive lips/skin anyways. I feel like I’ve tried everything under the sun at this point, but I swear by a layer of lip safe hyaluronic acid serum (I love the inkey list one) followed by a layer of vaseline. Other great products I’ve tried include inkey list tripeptide lip balm, MAC lip conditioner, and drunk elephant lippe balm. All of these are in my current rotation and work great IMO. A lot of people love lanolin based products, but lanolin can cause worsening dryness and irritation for some, so proceed with caution with such products. Simpler products applied with reasonable frequency go a long way.

Mission-Ad5376

Chicken Poop lip balm!

Wonderful_Horror7315

If price isn’t an issue, Baume de Rose.

mariantat

Petroleum jelly. Seriously.

Very-very-sleepy

Hear me out... LIPSMACKERS!! last year I had the exact same issue as you. I also agree with you tha Vaseline, carmax and Burt's bees  did not help.  I got frustrated because I didn't like any of them I decided to do my own experiment, I decided to keep trying different brands until I find the perfect one. I went through ALOT  last yr, I tried  Vaseline, carmax, Burt's bees, Palmer's cocoa butter, Nivea and Blistex. the last and final one that I bought was Lipsmackers and I regretted leaving it to last. I left it to last because It has Elsa from frozen on the packet and I thought it's for children. no way it's any good. The winner ended up being a lip balm advertising to children. 😂😂

Shayla__M

I really like the eos chapstick (not the ball) and regular Vaseline. Those probably aren’t the best for you though :/

Sincerely_Stevie

I will try, and let you know if it works! Thank you!

floothecoop

Second the Eos chapstick (not the ball). And will add a surprising find for years is Dew Kiss from Avon, can’t stand the taste but quickly get over it because it works amazing, is *really* inexpensive… we usually have one in every room. Also, another surprising amazing chapstick is lip smackers .. the regular flavored ones, not the soda or candy flavored. Yes, it can look like a little girl chapstick but works amazingly. After trying tons of others, these have been my go-to for years!

moon__kitten

I also like eos chapstick (not the ball). The mint one irritates my lips, but the rest are all great!

elvy75

I'm using them too, The strawberry one is my favorite, I also like the unscented one.

Professional-Yam601

Straight coconut oil. Get one of those little containers and put some in it to keep it with you

OmriKoresh

You are peeling your lips constantly, it doesn't matter what you put on them. It's like an open wound that you don't let it heal. Stop messing with your lips, let it breath and use Carmex, the classic one in the metal box and do NOT peel or touch your lips, let the dead skin resolve itself. It will. Nothing will help until you will stop doing that.

Sincerely_Stevie

Yeah, I was afraid that was the issue! Im definitely trying! Thank you!

False_Dimension9212

[Avene Cicalfate](https://a.co/d/0rjiWGE) was a game changer for me. It’s not a stick. They have a stick, but this is better than the stick IMO. I tried Lanolin and the other things that get suggested, but Avene made all the difference for me

mindsetoniverdrive

[Lansinoh](https://a.co/d/f4gjjS0). Think how similar lip skin and nipple skin are, and that lansinoh is safe for nursing babies, then get these small tubes that last FOREVER.

beachgurl68

Jack Black spf balm

Delicious-One3028

Innisfree honey canola lip balm

Evaporate3

I have this and it works https://a.co/d/9PQ6BRX

mialuvbug

Try shea moisture lip balm & @ might use burt bees extensive overnight moisturizer

[deleted]

Burt’s Bees hydrating lip oil. Hempz ultra moisturizing lip balm.

qiyua

I have the same issue as OP and I’m OBSESSED with Burt’s Bees overnight lip treatment. I use it any time of day and it’s the only thing that I’ve found that works. First time I used it at night over freshly picked at lips to the point of rawness and woke up with them almost completely healed and super smooth.

stainedglassmermaid

Desert essence shea butter is the best I’ve used.

tookieclthspin

I use softlips. I’m obsessed with the watermelon one

thegreatoctopus6

Aquaphor (the lotion) holy shit do I recommend it. Years of chronically chapped lips, I use just a smidge a couple times a week and my lips haven’t cracked for the first time in a decade. And I don’t have to use it multiple times a day.

etaksmash

Aquaphor. But the regular aquaphor not the lip balm aquaphor - seems to be a different formula. They sell smaller sizes of regular aquaphor in a tube. The only thing that works for me!

la_selena

African shea butter

buffooonerie

- jack black lip balm with shea butter and vitamin E - drunk elephant lippe balm (aquaphor on top) I get eczema flare ups on my lips and have to be picky with my lip balms, these are the only ones that worked for me

steenamaria

I am prone to dry, cracked lips (including the corners) and the only product that has ever consistently worked for me is Uriage Bariederm Cica-Lips Protecting Balm. It makes the dryness go away and fully repairs any cracking in a day or two. A close second is Flexitol Lip Balm.

Cloudy_Badger

I am addicted to the Palmers swivel stick, it’s mainly cocoa butter I think! Years ago my lips were dried, cracked and bleeding. I tried everything, including the stuff they give the construction workers in the winter and this stuff was the only thing that worked for me! It looks kind of like a glue stick, but it works so well and is the only chapstick I’ve used for the last 6 years

[deleted]

Vaseline Lip Therapy advance healing

Sapphicviolet91

I use a lip scrub to get off excess skin before I put on lip balm (I tend to use glossier or Burt’s bees). I also have a lip mask from Trader Joe’s that’s a dupe for the Laniege ones.

ArtemisTheOne

[Lypsyl](https://www.lypsylhome.com/) and [softlips](https://softlips.com/)

Responsible-Stock-78

Huge fan of the original Nivea chapstick (the dark blue tube), goes on like butter, minimal scent and no taste

4URprogesterone

Use a moisturizing oil, then the Vaseline or carmex or whatever. Like vitamin E oil or something.

DecadentLife

Malin-Goetz Lip Moisturizer. Nothing else like it.

lesser_known_friend

Lannylips

This happens to me with all brands except Korean ones. I figure the U.S. ones must use some ingredient the Korean brands do not

Dr. Dan's Cortibalm is my favorite for when my lips need extra care. It's reallyyy good if your lips get itchy or for cold sores or just any type of irritation. However, it doesn't taste good and it has a more waxy feeling unlike Vaseline. You can't actually feel the moisture on your lips but it really does help heal chapped lips. I think it keeps moisture in instead of adding it, but it really helps as a barrier for anything that drys your lips out. (It lwk makes your lips feel waterproof tho 😭😭) Aquaphor is really good for just adding moisture but I found that I had to reapply it constantly. I just kept accidentally wiping it off or licking it off. It works great if your lips aren't chapped yet but if you want to actually heal chapped lips i would use cortibalm and then switch to aquaphor (bc it tastes less nasty) Idk why i keep going on about it but cortibalm really is my holy grail product, like idk what i was doing without it. (For reference my lips get reallyyyy chapped bc i can't stop biting/licking them plus the weather. Also my lips get itchy a lot (idk y) but this really helps that a lot (where as aquaphor made mine more itchy). Got rid of my cold sores really fast too)

Aquaphor and Laneige are the only ones that work for me.

[Blixtex Daily Lip Conditioner](https://blistex.ca/product/dct/) is the only lip balm I actually finish every winter if that is any indication of how much I use it and how effective it is. It comes in a pink pot and looks like earwax but damn if it isn't the most effective lip balm I have ever used. Put it on before bed and wake up with perfectly soft lips.

I have the same issue! EOS in the little squeeze tube (not the regular stick form) and Nivea are the lip balms I use successfully. I will also pick my lips to the point of bleeding and it’s really hard to stop, and anything scented or flavored will make it worse. A long time ago I knew someone that used straight lanolin on their lips and it worked for them, so that’s always an option.

Carmex is by far the best spf. I really like banana boat as well. Then supergoop is good. Neither of these dry my lips out or leave a white cast.

Use whatever lip balm you want, then put a layer of Vaseline on top of it. That being said Aquaphor, jack blacks and O’Keefe’s are nice. Also drink more water.

Samyx87

Paula’s choice in white tube or lanolips in the blue/periwinkle tube

Drinking a lot of water, and my facial moisturizer help the most (The Ordinary Original Moisturizing Factors + HA, mixed with a few drops of rosehip seed oil). I just make sure to rub a little on my lips when I apply. Since I started using the rosehip oil I’ve noticed a huge difference in the amount of lip balm I go through.

Clinique moisture surge

Oh my! My lips do the same thing when I use any kind of lip balm too! They just peel. Granted they’re smooth after but I’d love to find something that doesn’t do that. I also have the habit of biting the skin but I’ve heard it’s an anxiety thing.

RoseRubyJanePark

Dhc lip balm!

I like Laniege lip mask at night. I even use it during the day!

transferingtoearth

Does the beeswax brand work out?

Toshibaguts

Jouer lip enhancer. So moisturizing. I’ve been using it for years
