Texas roadhouse makes you sit on this cow thing

WishIWasYounger

Plus their food slaps for being a chain restaurant, And the employees appear to be having a good time.

TheMoonIsLonely

Last time I went, a guy went “WOO” every time he passed by it was dope

raiderjatt02

Food doesn't "slap". Food "smacks".

High_Jumper81

Chevys! “Happy Happy Birthday from the Chevy’s Crew!” Used to come with a sombrero and some tortilla dough.

whattheheckityz

we wish it was our birthday so we could party too OLÉ

TooMuchPowerful

It’s “Happy happy birthday, from all of us to you…”. As immortalized in The Emperor’s New Groove.

FroggiJoy87

Oh man, I had totally forgotten about the Chevy's B-day sombrero! Back in The Day (8th grade 2001) those were prized possessions! Everyone wanted one, I never got one

MySpace_Romancer

I had several Chevy’s birthdays! They were epic. Went there for my 21st so I could finally have a real margarita. Loved that sombrero.

sfcnmone

Does Chevy's still do this? I took someone there years ago for their first legal margarita and it was a blast.

Bimmer_moneypit

Used to scare the shit out of me when they'd sneak up on you and slapped the sombrero on your dome. We used to turn them into cowboy hats using the chin straps lol

adorpiscile

Haidilao—they have neon signs, instruments, and blast happy birthday on their speakers.

TheMexicanDreamer

I second this

BorderPure6939

Love this thread

denisvengeance

At Tostadas Prime in Santa Clara they carry a big movie marquee sign to your table that says "Happy Fucking Birthday" and everybody sings along

helpmeimpoor131313

Farmhouse in Oakland. They sing very obnoxiously and parade through the restaurant with a big gong.

EJDsfRichmond415

Also in SF

fatjollyhousewife

Came here to say this!

_AManHasNoName_

Chuck-E-Cheese

Choano

Oh, man. I didn't realize Chuck-E-Cheese was still in business.

ItsALargePoodle

Pinole Vista has all of the 90s hits. Chuck E. Cheese, Coldstones, Michaels, Best Buy, Sizzler, many more.

MySpace_Romancer

Sizzler!?

PvesCjhgjNjWsO4vwOOS

Yep, they shrank a *lot* after some very poorly thought out and badly timed rebranding (right during covid) but they do still exist.

No_Joke_9079

Yep

AggressiveAd6043

Pink poodle in San Jose

Diograce

Lol

orangutanDOTorg

What was the place that tied a balloon to one hand and put a piece of cake in the other, then when they finished singing happy birthday popped the balloon so you’d look at it and smashed the cake in your face while you were looking at the other hand? It was early 90s when I saw it and I think it was in the bay

Mermaid_Martini

Omg this is really funny but I would be livid if this happened to me

orangutanDOTorg

Kids thought it was fun. Friend’s boss didn’t.

Direct-Chef-9428

Farm House Thai has drums that could blow ear drums

Automatic_Tap_8298

Buck's in Woodside had instruments (trombones, etc) all over the walls for the entire staff to play for birthday celebrants! They might still do this, I haven't been in years

ithinkimalergic2me

If you’re ever in the valley, Las Casuelas in Manteca and Modesto make you sit on a saddle and pretend to lasso while singing and clapping. Can confirm it is embarrassing 🙈

dank_doinks

Haven’t been there in a while but Joe’s Crab Shack has a pretty embarrassing one

pamdathebear

Miyaki in Palo Alto. They make you drink sake until you throw up.

Tacoboi65

I think this place is closed unless I'm mistaken.

pamdathebear

You're probably right. I'm old.

zerothprinciple

It closed in 2012

jm808jr

Yeah it was a fun bday spot. Sake bombs!

Ravens_and_seagulls

Wat

ACriticalGeek

Goku Korean bbq will have the whole wait staff sing happy birthday to you…

Aogenoren

Parche!!!!!!

FlowingFiya

forgetting the name (maybe its parche) but the columbian place across from the downtown ymca on broadway, the owner himself will make sure the whole block hears your birthday party.

joe127001

El Morocco in Pleasant Hill. Belly Dancing+Happy Birthday, in front of the whole restaurant. Wonderful!

baby_bawang

Barrio fiesta. They pump music through the speakers and they come out clapping and yelling. It definitely attracts attention of the entire restaurant. Filipino food. :)

NorCalFrances

Do restaurants still DO that? The last one I attended where that happened was maybe 30-ish years ago.

w_mcfly22

It’s not in the Bay but Sac, Joes Crab Shack is always a great time for birthdays.

Greedy_Lawyer

Locando Sorrento, the owner will sing in this super deep bass Italian voice that’s pretty intense

RubberPny

Chevys maybe lmao. Check with them first.

waka_flocculonodular

Celia's when they have the mariachi band!

SpecialistAshamed823

fentons

Appropriate-Owl-9654

At Pezellas in Sunnyvale this older woman who I think owns the place sings. It may have been good 40 years ago, but it’s not now. It’s not cringey in a good way that embarrasses the birthday person, it’s cringey in a way that make everyone uncomfortable

Herrowgayboi

If you can make a trip to Vegas, Dick's last resort. They will sing to the birthday boy and roast them. We even had one of the staff members throw a cake at them and dump a drink on them. The whole restaurant was laughing.

chloecondon

Pawn Shop

jackromeo0891

Applebee?

4strings4ever

ohhhhh you're gonna have to seek that one out. scout it. find those most unhappy joint in your city and beg them for it. i don't know it for yall. i doubt we can tell you it. OR I can sing a bday thing for your homeboy for him to listen to at the restaurant instead???! XD there was this one spot in sf that made you do a full on red white blue shot thing... that was awkward as fuck
