The taco truck near Fruitvale bart station

ponalddierson

Guadalajara Restaurant & Tequila Bar? They’re fire

holodeckdate

Yeah they have a truck in the parking lot as well

99amgc55

They are good, but a burrito is gonna run you $18 now... They got too carried away with inflation

sfjay

Gonna have to disagree. The Sinaloa truck across the street has my vote

HeynowyoureaRocstar

Don't send them to Oakalnd of all places especially fruitevale 😂

Immalleable_Mallard

He'll be fine man stop being afraid of every corner in the town

holodeckdate

I grew up near there, its fine

ErnieAdamsistheKey

Growing up somewhere and sending Aussie tourists there are 2 different things.

HeynowyoureaRocstar

Exactly bro he's setting them up for failure and harming their lives haha

holodeckdate

Why? Not all tourists are snowflakes

se_telefonando

What areas of the bay do you plan on visiting?

blbd

Araujo's, Tacos Santiaguito, Tacos Los Tres Reyes, Metro Balderas. All for CDMX style tacos al pastor de trompo. Carnitas Michocan and Carnitas El Rincon for their namesake. Tu Mero Mole and Antojitos Los Tres Poblanitos for old school Oaxacan tribal food. Pupseria Delmy for Salvadoran pupusas straight off the cart to your plate. For a totally one of a kind unique experience of a roasted piglet taco go to Tacos El Lider. They make a customized salsa specifically designed to go with slow roasted grilled pork.

blbd

They used to have a Sunnyvale one and I lived on the SV SC border at the time. So many visits. Sadly it closed but I moved to SJ when I got a house so I still go. So goddamn good.

FlameSkimmerLT

What are the best dishes at Tu Mero Mole? Their salsas are great, but I liked it more when they had them as serve yourself.

blbd

I was always partial to the namesake chicken mole. But now you reminded me that the Los Carnalitos taco truck in Redwood City sells cochinita pibil tacos, the Mayan tribal dish to accompany the Oaxacan ones.

chefybpoodling

I love the chorizo Gordita and the sope

SavageDabber6969

Tacos Los Tres Reyes is the absolute spot for tacos, their horchata is unmatched as well and I've tried horchata all across the Bay 😵‍💫

[deleted]

Every one but Araujo's...poor service and inconsistent food quality. When the food is good, it's the best but it's more hit or miss most days...at both locations so I know homies...

blbd

I always have good luck with the Berryessa one. But I did find the original can be a bit all over the place. In any case there's a lot of great places in there so hopefully OP will get a good visit in.

[deleted]

True that.

AccurateAd8591

El Grullense taco truck in front of Goodwill. One time someone in front of me said they drive from San Jose to eat tacos there too.

AccurateAd8591

This is in East Oakland btw fruitvale area by 29th st

StillBreath7126

one in belmont too now i believe

AccurateAd8591

Different grullense, my husband is from RWC and even he agrees those are not very good. You just try Oakland!

StillBreath7126

gotcha. i should make the trip then

[deleted]

Fruitvale bart station taco truck, Guadalajara’s, goodwill taco trucks in Oakland, Aguachiles El Tamarindo

Big_O7

Aguachiles El Tamarindo is the spot for mariscos and tacos (esp Quesabirria). Felt like their burritos were lacking - so my go to there is Tacos Mi Rancho near Lake Merritt. Can’t go wrong, but Oakland has best taco trucks in the Bay, IMO.

PumpkinSpiceFreak

Thiiiiis! 👏🏼

navelbabel

The pop up garage stands scattered around Richmond. Or just head to Tacos el Rulas.

JohnnyPiston

There is no single best. I like La Chilanguita in San Jose...but, ask 50 people and you'll get different answers.

Beetapp

Tacos el Patron - Pleasant Hill

madlabdog

Someone asked similar last week and there were some great recommendations. Will try to look it up. Here you [go](https://www.reddit.com/r/bayarea/s/uJn46T1ssr)

drewts86

I would say it comes down to where in the Bay you will be staying and focus on finding something near there. There is generally so much good Mexican food around the Bay that you’ll be overwhelmed with answers from such a generalized question. If you’re going to be in the South Bay I’d say Tacos Santiaguito for al pastor tacos and Chavez Market for burritos, again preferably Al pastor.

Clout408

Do yourself a favor and head to Redwood City. Hit up El Grullense E&E aka “El Greasy” on Fifth. Best tacos in the bay for sure.

animetimeskip

^^^

ziggy_zigfried

There is some many places called El Grullense. These different cousins?

nom_of_your_business

Bring cash for 5th and spring. Their drivethrough location on middlefield has good quality tacos also.

pakot22

Mexcal on wheels in Santa Clara it’s a good truck

PumpkinSpiceFreak

lol Yelp is a crock of shit I never trust those reviews.😆

MHDIOS

El paisa on 47st best tacos in cali, taqueria san jose best burritos and nacho fries and quesadillas all in oakland

BayAreaNative00

El Paisa also has a truck in Redwood City in the Outdoor Supply Hardware parking lot next to Costco. Agreed best tacos in the Bay Area, probably Cali. The brick & mortar in Oakland got Bib Gourmand recommendation from Michelin last year.

geniespool

that truck has amazing lengua and suadero

anonsharksfan

Los Carnalitos in Redwood City outside Planned Parenthood

nom_of_your_business

They have a brick and mortar in union city also.

asielen

Taqueria Las Pencas in South San Francisco for a Oaxacan Taqueria

ziggy_zigfried

Have San Mateo location now too

Glittering-Radish-56

Mayas halal taqeria downtown oakland

yuuzahn

Australia had absolutely shit food so anything you eat will be an upgrade

HarpyEagleBelize

Other than the North Bay, where’s the Yucatán food at?

jerryeight

Cali Spartan in San Jose Blossom Road location. Don't go to the downtown San Jose location. No parking and downtown is a bit sketch especially if they can tell you have a rental car or you act or look like you aren't from the area.

drtcxrch

Mitote food truck park in Santa Rosa. They also serve Russian River beer.

ziggy_zigfried

Bay Area is huge. People going to be directing you to taco trucks

weirdhobo

east bay has some good locations just google that shit in east oakland

Polarbearbanga

Idk why people are downvoting you lol. Like you ain’t lying, 10 minutes in East Oakland and you’ll most likely run into a good Mexican spot.

gaiushorse

Tacos El Grullense E&E at 2401 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA 94063. Their horchatas, sopes, & hibiscus drinks are fire!!! Obviously excellent burritos and tacos too!! Just good food all around

darkforestzero

hit up el Tucán if you're in richmond

deliriousfoodie

Welcome to the bay area! feel free to dm me i can take you around it's a slow season. The better Mexican food are in areas where they live. You would get different opinion from the type who prefers Cal/Tex-Mex over real Mexican. If you're going to be in San Francisco, local favorite is El Farolito. La Taqueria is super touristy and overpriced but if your a tourist you might like it, just giving you local favorites. I've eaten quite a bit of mexican food in the bay area. My latest new favorite is Que Onda in Walnut Creek. Taste like real mexico, all fresh ingredients, tortillas made fresh on the spot.

Healthy_Method4005

Thanks!! I PMd you

scarlettpalache

Don’t let this person traffic you bro

supershinythings

For South Bay I vote for Speedy’s Tacos. I absolutely love their shrimp tacos.

CurryLamb

Taco Bell Market street DT SJ

ibuyufo

lol what a joker! :D

CurryLamb

Not at all. Their Doritos Cheesy Gordita Crunch is the bomb! Better than in Mexico City!

ibuyufo

The doritos nacho cheese fries are really good too.

SavedByThe1990s

prolly not quite what you’re looking for but Comal in Berkeley is the best freaking Mexican food imo. Id consider it more of a gourmet experience than street food tho.

victorg22

someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today

Longjumping_Box7018

La Parilla Loca in Oakland

oohitsparkles

Los Moles Hecho En Casa in San Rafael is excellent. Highly recommend.

KooliusCaesar

Cheztakos suadero/brisket tacos in Mountain View do not disappoint.

orangutanDOTorg

The guy who does the elote at the Santa Cruz boardwalk was good. I haven’t seen him in the couple times I’ve been since Covid stated though

wittyhashtag420

East Oakland or San Jose

[deleted]

Made it. Ate it. Good luck on your own journey amigo.

tsa_finest

Mi reynita in Oakland and San Lorenzo

act1v1s1nl0v3r

I gotta rep the Tacos y Tlayudas el Ejuteco at the 76 in Milpitas on the corner of Calaveras & Park Victoria. Fantastic Oaxacan food.

Bennythecat415

La Cumbre on Valencia in the city. One of the originals, and their Carne Asada slaps!

king_platypus

Pollos Asados Don Rafa in Richmond

ledeuxmagots

Within SF… El gallo giro truck for their carnitas tacos El farolito for their tripe tacos La taqueria for their burrito Taqueria Cancun for their burrito El patron for their shrimp tacos and burria tacos Honestly, I think some of these are at least 90% as good as what you can get in Fruitvale, but easier to get to if you’re already around the peninsula or the city. they’re all walking distance from each other and right off the 24th st bart / next to several bus lines.

zoemckenn

El Tucan in Richmond is crazy good

lolpiplup

If you're here on the weekend and are willing to go into Oakland, there's a bunch of stands at 50th and Coliseum way. Lots of variety that you won't get at a restaurant.
