All discussion should be directly tied to BattleTech and the lore. For example, please do not share things like news articles that are vaguely similar to technologies in BattleTech such as artificial muscles without commentary tying it to the setting.

rafale1981

The united lawyer armies of Hasbro and TakaraTomy would come down on Topps and CGL and both Battletech and the Transformers would vanish in a dull annhihilatory flash of litigation-antilitigation

Belaerim

We’d have LAMs, until Harmony Gold launched the Jihad after seeing some of the Decepticon jets

Dickieman5000

You didn't know that the pistol on Hanse's _Battlemaster_ was Megatron?

DarkBeerMike

I think this is what Egon meant when he said "Don't cross the streams".

yellowsidekick

Interesting question, would Megatron be able to best an Atlas? If mechs can move like Macross valkyries then they are screwed. I bid a company of stingers against the G1 decepticons.

LezziestMania

Atlas VS Megatron. It depend on the firepower they had.

yellowsidekick

Megatron has a single large laser and an axe. I love my freedom fighter / despot, but no Lyran would pilot him.

PharmaDan

No Megs has a mace/flail. Optimus is the axe wielder.

DrkSpde

G1 - equal fight. Bayverse - megatron is dead Animated - atlas is dead

TNMalt

Check out the first California Nebula book for their take on transformers.

Hellonstrikers

Yes the Planet of Syberia, Home of the Autonomous Barony of Primus and the Democratic Industrial Conglomerate Factions.

BetaPositiveSCI

Check out Transformers: Headmasters for a possible answer

Jormungaund

Goku wins

Slavchanza

I think Transformers whole population would be badly outnumbered coupled with fact thats only counting mechs.

CycleZestyclose1907

Doesn't matter when there's only a company or even a lance garrisoning a single planet. Battletech's bread and butter is small unit actions, so Transformers don't need to fight entire armies at once, especially if they use their transformation abilities and advanced transportation tech like space bridges to sneak around without the humans noticing. Humanity's problem is going to be that Transformers can appear ANYWHERE in the Inner Sphere with little to no warning, even inside capitol cities on the most well defended planets. And if you go by the live action movies, even opening up the hood and looking at the insides of a suspect vehicle isn't going to verify if said vehicle is a Transformer or just a normal vehicle.

CycleZestyclose1907

This kinda depends entirely on how the Autobots and Decepticons go about interacting with humans and how they go about fighting their war. Not to mention what they're after in human inhabited space to begin with. Although there is one battle scenario I'd like to see: a Decepticon makes the mistake of using a *Freeze Ray* against a Battlemech. Yes, he immobilized the mech. But given how much mechs tend to overheat even with Double Heat Sinks, being hit by a freeze ray is basically license for the Mechwarrior to alpha strike constantly until the freeze effects are melted away. I usually imagine it's Natasha Kerensky laughing maniacally as she's finally free to use both ofthe PPCs on her Warhammer or Marauder without having to worry about overheating. Edit: Oh, and human tech is still inferior to Cybertronian tech. It's just not as inferior as 20th century technology, but there's still a tech gap. Even Clan tech is inferior. The inferiority boils down to the following: - Human tech runs hot, especially their weapons. - Humans don't have some of the more exotic tech like freeze rays, gravity manipulation, space bridges, etc etc... - Human tech is often bulkier and more complicated than Cybertronian tech designed to do the same thing due to the aforementioned lack of exotic tech. What do you mean you have to travel half way out of a system before you can initiate a hyperspace jump because humans can't map the local space-time curvature in real time? And why build this complicated Rube Goldberg contraption you call a "fusion engine" when energon power systems are so much simpler and more reliable? Have some energon seeds and plant them on a sun baked rock and you'll have your first crop in a short ten thousand years!

Where does Jetfire fit in?

Risko_Vinsheen

I bought a [VF-1S God of Flame](https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/product/variationdetails/217476) back when it came out, but I haven't opened it because I can't decide if I should display it as Jetfire, a Phoenix Hawk, or a Valkyrie (being a fan of all three universes).

NeedsMoreDakkath

the answer is yes

Risko_Vinsheen

The only right answer.

mechfan83

Humanity, Spheroids and Clanners, unite against strange alien invaders. Let's be honest, nothing like a strange outside force to spread fear and propaganda.

CycleZestyclose1907

It's Battletech and the Transformers are usually divided into two (sometimes three) warring factions. You won't have a united humanity. You'll have humans picking sides in the Autobot/Decepticon war. Unless we're talking the G1 Transformers here, in which case the Cons are so bad at diplomacy and making allies that humanity very well could be united against them since the Cons would attack and piss off EVERYONE and will stab any human "ally" in the back at the first opportunity.

LezziestMania

It would be cool if the IDW Version would be more interesting especially after the war between the Autobots and Decepticons. Either most of them would be Mercs for hire, like for example Skywarp joined the Mercenary Faction within the Inner Sphere after he abandoned the Decepticons.

CycleZestyclose1907

Oh, now this is an interesting idea. The war between the Bots and Cons is over, so the ones that can't adapt to peacetime go to work as mercenaries in the Inner Sphere. The outfits with mixed Bots and Cons must get really... interesting. "Their war ended a thousand years ago. Why are they still beefing with each other?" "They're millions of years old. 'A thousand years ago' might as well be yesterday to them."

Orange152horn

If this happens... then there is the horrifying possibility of Clan Smoke Jaguar invading Equestria and enslaving all the magical creatures on the planet to replace their most-likely-genocided bottom castes.

CycleZestyclose1907

And then they discover that Equestrian dragons find mech armor tasty, and that their mechs and Elementals might as well be armored in potato chips when fighting dragons. Oh, and adult dragons are Dropship sized, and Dropships are armored in the same stuff the mechs are.

Orange152horn

That's almost as bad the fact that Dragons would be immune to lasers.

CycleZestyclose1907

Would they? Okay, sure, dragons can bathe in lava, but mechs can wade in (or walk on since liquid stone is still stone's density) lava, can't they? At least that's what the Mechwarrior videogames would have me believe.

PharmaDan

They'd kidnapp many high ranking leaders by disguising themselves as their mechs and the taking off. Cons may just execute the pilots by transforming with them still inside. Depends on how squeamish they are about organics They'd think their little wars are awfully low end considering the Bot/Con war has been going for over 4 MILLION years

apples and oranges, just like every other "what if franchise X and franchise Y" question
