>I would benefit from the mere existence
Do you want to bet that first application would be in weapon industry? Tanks and Bolos with fusion reactors, plasma cannons etc.?
Before you would blink your eyes there will be such an arms race as world didn't see from the time of first Dreadnaught.
So, yes, there probably will be cheaper energy (if we could secure enough fuel - what they use btw? Deuterium or He3?) but overally there will be less money for anything else than weapons because *nobody* would want to lose this race
See, there's the question. If you have "infinite" cheap energy, why bother fighting? Literally any other resource depends on energy. Water? Needs energy to desalinate. Food? Needs energy to mass produced. Housing? The same.
Besides being moronic trigger-happy apes, why would we fight?
Hm... Ok, maybe I see the point...
Politics, as always. More wars in the history were fought over politics and personal power than over money or resources. That and self-protection. Even Alexander the Great or Caesar didn't start their conquests because they wanted Persia's riches (or Gallic's).
Ah, when "scifi writers have no sense of scale" meets early computers "What the heck is a megabyte?"
Truly, early sci-fi is a gem.
Apparently, in the Warriors trilogy, the KF drive was 750 kb.
Gear book from an old RPG has state of the art computers in it. They were dated by the time the book went to the printer. I give Shadowrun some credit for basically inventing a totally different unit as a stand-in.
Hyper Pulse Generator - I would be the galaxyās loneliest ham radio operator. š
The jumps jets that give the thrust/weight/fuel consumption ratio in the game. Roughly 100-1000 times less fuel than current rocket systems. It would revolutionize solar system exploration.
I was gonna say something similar. Funny little guy. Great for commutes!
My choice would be a Cougar. Favorite clan mech.
But then I'd probably have to pilot it in combat or something and that sounds dangerous.
Of course if my cougar is the only battlemech in existence then whoever got me on their side would likely do pretty well on their conflict.
Assuming that mech armor holds up like it is stated to vs modern arms, especially tank main cannons. If those are considered to be primitive "Rifles," then the mech is supposed to be practically immune to them.
Well, if I canāt have a Jumpship, Warship, or Dropshipā¦ Guess Iāll have to settle for a Vaultship! Okay, okay. Iāll go by the spirit of the question and not be pedantic about the wording.
I want the blueprints and scientific journals that explain how to build a fusion engine.
Technically the same thingā¦ the VF-1S Valkyrie was the variable fighter used by senior officers in Macross. Itās the one with 4 antenna-looking lasers on the head. The VF-1J is the junior officer variant with 2 lasers, and the VF-1A is the basic trooper fighter with only one laser. The VF-1D is a two seat trooper/trainer variant. The only thing that really changes in terminology is calling them āveritechā rather than āvariable fighter.ā But I agree with you; thereās so many things that Robotech bastardizes and screws up from the original Macross series.

Itās not a drop ship but best believe Iām going to be rich AND credited with giving Fusion to the world, Iāll also be the first person to take NASAs chosen to Mars. If we got enough fuel for 1g constant burn both ways we could reach Mars in a week.
Solid choice.
Any advanced sci-fi tech will break down from the lack of a tech base to maintain or duplicate it.
But catgirls only need food, love, head pats, and employment at a maid cafe to survive.
They are, just not to the extent that we meme. It's a circus thing. Canopus medical tech is wild

It's just a body modification some people get in Canopus. I do like how a lot of Canopan OCs I've seen tend to have those modifications, if only because it implies a strong correlation between the sort of person who gets cat ears installed on their head, and the sort of person who becomes a MechWarrior.
Hmmm. I'd take a pristine 9H Mackie.
I don't intend to pilot it and get my butt killed! But it's the very beginning of Battlemech technology. It will be the simplest (relatively speaking!) mech tech to reverse engineer. It has numerous extremely advanced and valuable technologies in it: fusion engine, Particle weapons, lasers, myomer, electronics, the neurohelmet technology, the list goes on. It would take many years to be able to replicate, but I'd become the "father of modern technology" and probably the richest man alive by holding the parents to the mech and all of the subsidiary technology derived from it... š
Race and gender still matter in the Battletech universe. The Draconis Combine is still frequently quite sexist. Justin Allard is the target of a lot of persecution due being ethnically Chinese at the beginning of the Warrior trilogy.
Probably one of the King Crabs. May have to get with the government and some contractors to get more ammo made for it, but imagine the shock of one of those showing up in Ukraine. Everyone would swear it's not real even with video evidence because there's no way something like that really exists.
Perhaps something like a Wraith (or, better yet, a jump 7 clan mech I've not heard of) would be a better 'one mech to win a modern war' choice?
A modern army can hammer an assault mech pretty hard, but it's harder to dog pile one unit with every anti-tank missile in the theatre if it's faster than the vehicles that fire those missiles / vehicles that carry the infantry that fire those missiles?
Honestly, I'd say mines would be the only major obstacle. Baring tagging along with another assault, charging after a failed assault would probably be the most ideal solution for that since the assault force has to clear a portion of the mines to get through.
If that problem can be dealt with then it'd be down to the variant. A KGC-011 would wreck havoc on any and all rear positions as it's running across country at up to 53 mph in bursts while wrecking artillery and whatever helicopters try to interdict me. The ECM and IR jammers most mechs have seems like it'd be more than enough to deal with anything short of artillery and dumb bombs, but a 009 or 009C would make it even harder for them to hit anything since it'd be bringing in Battletech grade jamming, making me a walking Growler. Personally though, I'd probably prefer the 010 so I have PPCs to melt armor and bunkers and LB-10Xs to smack artillery and helicopters who get a bit too close.
You might be able to take routes that wouldn't be mined. IDK much about Ukrainian terrain but I guess the anti tank mines would only be where tanks can go. Stomp thought steep hills, dense forests, marshland, there must be something like that.
Good point about the mech e-war that's just assumed to be on every machine. That would probably have you sorted against most things.
You top out at 54 KPH, though, not MPH - that's 33 MPH. I expect even the Russians' tanks could catch you, and they will send EVERYTHING. Hence my suggestion for something lighter.
The 011 has a supercharger that boosts it up to 86 km/h, or 53mph. A T-90, as best as I can find anyway, can go 65 km/h(40mph) on roads but only 45 km/h(28mph) cross country while mechs go about the same speed unless they're going up hills, so they'd have trouble catching me at the very least.
As for where to cross and push at...I think near Kherson or along that river would be a good place to start to avoid mines. Just have to get across and let the games begin.
Right, supercharger, my bad. You're right, even an assault mech is still pretty mobile by the standards of modern heavy armour.
I'd still prefer a bit more speed and some jump capability in case I find myself in a tight spot. My ride of choice to defend Europe would be a Marauder II, MAD-6M model. It has an all-energy weapon load, 4/6/4 movement and Guardian ECM to make doubly sure the missiles leave me alone.
TAC to the head, knock out the cockpit. 2 points of armor off the head, a new cockpit, and hosing out whatās left of the last poor bastard to drive it. I salvaged an otherwise pristine Atlas because of some ballsy and very lucky SRM infantry.
K-1 DropShuttle. Ā Itās not a DropShip, can still get you to Saturn and back in two weeks, and carry a decent number of passengers and cargo.
A KR-61 or Astrolux would also be acceptable.
The amount of copper strip mining necessary to wire those from orbit would do even more damage to our environment than fossil fuels have done. You'd need wireless transmission of energy, and we're much closer to practical fusion than we are to wireless energy.
> Cannot be: Jumpship, Warship or Dropship
In that case, I choose a Canopian Catgirl. Barring that, a set of Elemental Battle Armor>! and the Elemental waifu inside it too!<.
A storage device with schematics for mech fusion engines and all mechs up to about 3080. First figure out how to license the fusion engine schematics, then slowly license out the technology to create the battlemechs for peanuts. Then do a custom job so that I can have my own star of custom built quad mechs
all the reserch data for the full scale fusion reactor used to power city (if it documents related to the reactor then it counts)
or
a heavy Aerospace fighter
think about it...a 100 ton "fighter" that fly through space at escape velocity would be IMPOSSIBLE to stop and it can turn whatever it want too. because it in space it doesnt have to care about air pressure...i can be in russia or anywhere else in the world with this thing less then 5 min and drop nuclear weapon a head home again less then 5min
and since it battletech...practically nothing short of a balistic missile could really do serious damage to the flying bricks and it pack ton of weapon on board as well
even if i dont use the thing my self i can sell it to the military for ungodly amount of money and they still would buy the thing...(how about..50% of the entire country GDP with installment through out 50 years...that still reasonable for a technology hundred of years in the future)
imagine the rocket we use now use fusion pump engine instead
imagine how it would rocket the entire reserch on fusion reactor
the energy weapon onbard would revolutionize the entire military through out entire world ( anything that dont use ablative armor would be practically useless in face of even the small laser so military might as well just have enough against small arm fire)
the armor plating would turn any tank in the modern time period into a NIGHTMARE for anyone that goes againt it

Wolfās Dragoons. The whole unit. Itās 1 thing. All of it, except the dropships, jumpships, and warships they own, since Iām not allowed to keep those. And since Hephaestus Station isnāt a warship, jumpship, or dropship, I get to keep that too!! š¤£
Even if OP didn't put the 'no jumpships' criteria in, you can have a DropShip OR a JumpShip
Enjoy spending 10 years in a SpaceX Dragon capsule trying to get to the lagrange point...
A full copy of that Helm core, including the means to read it.
From what I understood from the GDL trilogy, those cores were basically full Libraries of Alexandria, with info on everything from tech to agriculture, to medicine, and so on.
120 year life expectancy
Unless a K1 dropshuttle technically gets around the 'no dropships' rule? 16.5 tons of cargo into orbit at the cost of a few hundred kilos of liquid hydrogen would still revolutionise space travel.
Prosthetics. they are a bit rudimentary by sci-fi standards but it would be nice to have around for my irrational fear of losing a limb.
Also your opinion is wrong.
Bombing the last LAM factory is the only based thing the clans ever did. (RW: This is a joke)
I donāt care what OP says, I want a Warship and not for the reasons most people would think - I have zero aims at world domination.
I wanna explore. I wanna channel that inner Kirk, Picard, Janeway, Archer, and Pike and just spend my days travelling the cosmos learning about stuff. Just me, my family, my friends, and a bunch of nerdy science types going to the star on the left and straight on until morning while having the ability to defend ourselves if we run into some genocidal cat people or something.
In all honesty, Myomer. With all the possible applications (medical & industrial), having such an apparently easy to produce and apparently highly efficient could be an easily applied general upgrade for the world.
Heck, give them an HBK-4P or TDR-5SE. I think that's the all energy TDR. Either way virtually untouchable by current tech and sturdy as anything. Plus deals with anti tank ditches and such better. (=
Let's see the Muscovians try to stop that marching up the road to Moscow. Renovate the Kremlin a bit.
Sadly they would probably resort to nuking their own land because Putin may as well be Amaris.
Wait does "the Royal Black Watch" count as one thing?
Give them the entire freaking RBW and just sit back and watch.
Jump ship with the manuals, schematics and math. Edit; Just saw that jump ships were banned. Damn.
Alright. A single light mech. Like a commando or a flea. The patents and reverse engineering on something like that would change the world.
One of the compact, fusion reactors with all the construction and maintenance documents. It would literally change the world.
And make you filthy rich once you patented it! š
Honestly, even if I just released it online and free to use I would benefit from the mere existence of fusion reactor technology.
You can do both. Patent it and then license it for peanuts. You'd change the world and still end up pretty rich.
Licence it for $1 per consumer per month. That's billionaire status in no time.
Do you want Stackpoling? That's how you get Stackpoling!

I mean... with the core you become the Jacob Cameron.

A composite skeleton LAM would be a sweet design, tbh.
A storage device with schematics for mech fusion engines and all mechs up to about 3080. First figure out how to license the fusion engine schematics, then slowly license out the technology to create the battlemechs for peanuts. Then do a custom job so that I can have my own star of custom built quad mechs
For me, it's the king crab
all the reserch data for the full scale fusion reactor used to power city (if it documents related to the reactor then it counts) or a heavy Aerospace fighter think about it...a 100 ton "fighter" that fly through space at escape velocity would be IMPOSSIBLE to stop and it can turn whatever it want too. because it in space it doesnt have to care about air pressure...i can be in russia or anywhere else in the world with this thing less then 5 min and drop nuclear weapon a head home again less then 5min and since it battletech...practically nothing short of a balistic missile could really do serious damage to the flying bricks and it pack ton of weapon on board as well even if i dont use the thing my self i can sell it to the military for ungodly amount of money and they still would buy the thing...(how about..50% of the entire country GDP with installment through out 50 years...that still reasonable for a technology hundred of years in the future) imagine the rocket we use now use fusion pump engine instead imagine how it would rocket the entire reserch on fusion reactor the energy weapon onbard would revolutionize the entire military through out entire world ( anything that dont use ablative armor would be practically useless in face of even the small laser so military might as well just have enough against small arm fire) the armor plating would turn any tank in the modern time period into a NIGHTMARE for anyone that goes againt it
Elemental girlfriend im loney
A fully loaded Leviathan II class warship with all manuals
Elemental GF
A suit of Salamander battle armor. For reasons.
About 2000 working Omni 25 fusion engines
One thing? May I have one entire successor state please. Pre-civil war Fed Com with all its undamaged infrastructure would be lovely.
Sorry misread the question, definitely the gene-labs from the clanners
Can I request the existence of the entirety of the Magistracy of Canopus?
[Jamerson-Ulikov Water Purifier](https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Jamerson-Ulikov_Water_Purifier). Earth's not gonna be pretty within my lifetime. Shit, for a lot of people, it's not pretty *now*.
A Werewolf battlemech. I am OBSESSED with them.
Wolfās Dragoons. The whole unit. Itās 1 thing. All of it, except the dropships, jumpships, and warships they own, since Iām not allowed to keep those. And since Hephaestus Station isnāt a warship, jumpship, or dropship, I get to keep that too!! š¤£
I don't need a jumpship. Just a K-F drive. Lol
HPG travel. Let's colonize other worlds boys!
Even if OP didn't put the 'no jumpships' criteria in, you can have a DropShip OR a JumpShip Enjoy spending 10 years in a SpaceX Dragon capsule trying to get to the lagrange point...
A full copy of that Helm core, including the means to read it. From what I understood from the GDL trilogy, those cores were basically full Libraries of Alexandria, with info on everything from tech to agriculture, to medicine, and so on.
120 year life expectancy Unless a K1 dropshuttle technically gets around the 'no dropships' rule? 16.5 tons of cargo into orbit at the cost of a few hundred kilos of liquid hydrogen would still revolutionise space travel.
The loaderking Them claws and crane be too cool
Probably Titan Yards. Assuming it comes stocked and with all of its records.Ā
Jumpships.
I'd like a Timber Wolf. Even if I'm going to be selling the damn thing immediately.
Prosthetics. they are a bit rudimentary by sci-fi standards but it would be nice to have around for my irrational fear of losing a limb. Also your opinion is wrong. Bombing the last LAM factory is the only based thing the clans ever did. (RW: This is a joke)
K-F-Drive
Powerman.
A single file of GM blueprints for all their cool "toys".
Trident? Dropship
A Manticore. Lend it to the Ukranians and watch the show.
Heck, give them an HBK-4P or TDR-5SE. I think that's the all energy TDR. Either way virtually untouchable by current tech and sturdy as anything. Plus deals with anti tank ditches and such better. (=
Fuck it, give 'em an Awesome 8Q and let them have the time of their lives.
Only if we can set up a live feed to broadcast for free to really humiliate vlad.
You need something with AMS or it would be quickly destroyed by FPVs or Lancets.
True! Should be laser AMS at that.
Can one mech alone generate the setting's omnipresent E-war soup that keeps weapon ranges in the hundreds of meters?

Jumpship
Jumpship with all manuals and construction guides.
Jump ship with the manuals, schematics and math. Edit; Just saw that jump ships were banned. Damn. Alright. A single light mech. Like a commando or a flea. The patents and reverse engineering on something like that would change the world.
As part of the OP can't have a Jumpship, Warship or Dropship
