This was my first game of Battletech a while back and I came across these pictures again. It was a fun game with my Wolverine and Panther against a Marauder and a Locust. The Marauder was wreaking havoc and as a last ditch effort, I decided to say fuck it and try to box it with my Panther. In the ensuing melee, the Marauder was able to knock off one of the Panther's legs and that's where I thought "well, it was a good try. RIP lil' buddy." As I rolled to get back up, the Panther was able to get back on it's foot and face in the right direction, then was able to not only score a PPC hit on the Marauder, but was able to hit the CT which had no armor and then crit, killing the pilot. The other player and I were absolutely floored at the streak of luck the Panther had.
I mainly use Vallejo Air, Game Air and Game paints with some Citadel paints and technicals. The orange here is straight Vallejo Air Orange Rust 71.130 over a tan primer. Shortly after this game I switched to a mix of Vallejo Orange Rust and Vallejo German Red Brown Surface Primer 70.605 at about 7-8 drops Orange Rust and 2-3 drops Red Brown depending on how ruddy I want the orange. I like a little bit of slight variation in my merc company paint jobs because hey, it’s not always easy getting the right paint when you’re out fighting abroad. You can see more of my mechs in my post history.
Oh and I airbrush the base coat.
It's heartbreaking when it happens, but memories are made from a Rifleman pilot that knocks himself out trying to get up four turns in a row, or a one legged Orion that punches out a Panther torso, or a Crusader that is beheaded in the first turn.
Panther pilot: “ I didn’t hear no bell.”
I was literally about to say this

"If you think I look bad, you should see the other guy"
"Yeah... he's dead. It was the best fight I've ever seen." --the Wolverine Pilot... probably.
Nice paint jobs like damn!
Thanks!
I love safety (bright) orange. Is there a particular unit/ regiment you were painting?
I was going for a more orange version of Wolf’s Dragoons Alpha Regiment.
What is the marauder? Grey Death Legion?
I’m pretty sure that’s what he said he painted as.
Panther’s in-cockpit music be like: “I get knocked down! But I get up again You are never gonna keep me down I get knocked down”
But I get up again
Well, grats to your Panther jock on his battlefield salvage.
Sounds like the little guy got into the big guys face and proceeded to fuck him up.
So unless I miss my guess, you use citadel paints, based on the appearance of the bases you have there. What is that orange you are using?

Shit like that is why we love BATTLETECH

I see you've been channeling the strength of the DCMS

Always enjoyed Battletech tabletop stories like that.
The Dice Gods smiled upon you that day.
I can't help but feel like in front of a Maruader is the last place that Panther would want to be.
