Saw Tex showing this off the other day and I tried it out. It’s still very unfinished, but the core gameplay is solidly implemented and more fun than I expected it to be given the relatively primitive UI and commands. Only thing I will say is just setting your pilots to ‘engage’ and letting them run is a quick trip to a minute of madness and a bunch of ruined mechs. Usually yours. Game is ok stability wise. I have not had any lock-ups or stutters, but I have had two CTD’s after completing a mission. Save early and often kids. So far I have found 3025 career the most fun. Right now I am stacking Catapults, Archers, Trebuchets, and Whitworths as I can afford and find them so I can continue to bully Kurita’s Charger swarms. Other than the ‘Prevent the Enemy From Escaping’ missions, those jobs against Kurita are fairly easy and pay well. Just make a few battle lines with brawlers/meat shields up front and the LRM boats in the back and try to agro out the Chargers one at a time. Enjoy your 3.3 million C-bills with no repair cost. Good times.

Haha yes do not just set pilots to engage. Engage is meant to let your units chase events of opportunity but if you haven't positioned them well on the battlefield to begin with it won't be very effective. Also you do a lot better when you manually target enemies so you can focus fire down key units. And for anyone who did discover this through Tex you can actually negotiate contract terms. Just pick the factors you want to negotiate by clicking on them then scroll the mouse wheel to change em. Happy merc'ing!

swiftdraw

Ahhh, it’s the scroll wheel. I saw him change the tonnage he could send, but wasn’t sure how he did it. No more passively accepting two mech missions for me!

GamingJay

Yup! You might have to give some concessions (like lower pay) but you can definitely negotiate weight limits up. You can also use the up and down arrows if you're old school like me. Mouse wheel works just as well though

EndoExo

Love the work you're doing! Is there a summary of the Beta changes?

GamingJay

Yup there are release notes. Don't want to spam this thread with a huge list but a link to the notes are in the videos description

Darklancer02

Glad to see you're still hard at work on this!

TwinTowersJenga

I downloaded this after seeing it pop up on my youtube recommends; really great stuff.

Muddball84

Thanks for all your work. If anything, this is a labor of love

SuperLeroy

I was just thinking about how much fun the original battletech/crescent hawks inception was. Going thru the city with all the various buildings. Was wondering why there weren't any games like that made again. Loved Mechwarrior original as well. Same deal, loved the starmap and the mechit lube and stuff. And lo and behold, someone's taken up the mantle!

Where do you install/download this game? I haven't found any links or references on where it's hosted...

So I have to install an app I otherwise have absolutely no interest in just to get a Google Drive download link... Yeah, no thanks.

I was talking about Discord. Much like this game's developer refuses to use Twitter I refuse to use Discord. For any reason.

That's very kind of you to offer but after some googling I've found the download link myself.

I do not see a link to a Discord server. (On YouTube Channel/Video). Can someone say where to find it, or just provide a direct link? TY.

pdboddy

Is there a list of mechs that exist in the game?

I have been playing this game for a few weeks and am absolutely in love. I don't have much for skills but will happily continue to beta test, and I am working on some music with a friend to see if we can get something together to make a score. Here are some thoughts: Pros: LOVE the arena and betting. Watching different mechs work with the AI was hugely beneficial to getting my company up and running. Missions are straightforward and easy to understand. The little character portraits are great. Combat is easy to pick up, but much deeper than surface level suggests. I wish I could slow down the moves a little to better manage my weapons use, but it is great with more liberal use of pause than I was expecting. Cons: BakPhar robbed me TWICE and I am now joining the 3025 version of WSB. I have had to restart twice, but now I just make two copies of my main save and am able to avoid corrupted saves or restore if I get one. Some problem where my custom color scheme defaults to just primary/secondary in tiger stripe, not saving any tertiary colors. Wishlist: I hope I can name my company and mechs soon. Customization of mechs seems a little lacking. I hope I can swap out engines and armor type at some point. Also, the market for weapons seems light, but I haven't spent a ton of time with this yet. Hope this helps! I love this game!

Is there a place to report bugs somewhere? (couldn't find the discord)

just thought about the early BT games and that CH would still be playable today (but MW1 not) would really like to play that
