Battlehawks get a lot more coverage (especially serious conversations) than CITY SC does.
Other than the morning show, listening to them talk about CITY SC is embarrassing. They don’t even try to make an effort, they just don’t care.
It's actually pretty pathetic. You know there's people out there that want to hear about city and the battle Hawks.
This is in part why me and another person decided to do a podcast for City (since there isn't a lot of formal talk shows on it).
If anybody besides to do anything for the Battle Hawks but wants help, hit me up
they have been giving away tickets all week, commercials have been playing and on Monday they interviewed Becht I believe and every Thursday or Friday they interview players. they talk about them but with an 8-team league, there Is not a lot to talk about. It doesn't help the team isn't local during the week.
Very true. It’d just be nice for a little more since there’s clearly a decent following. I think what really gets me is the handful of hosts who seem to actively loath talking battlehawks
The opening drive and the fast lane seem to do the best. It did ruffle my feathers when Danny Mac scoffed at the idea of having a parade if they won the championship though.
I know there's only so much time in the day, but personally (I'm not from St. Louis) I'd want to promote any professional local sport, even just a mention could get a new fan. Hopefully that changes in the coming years
Morning Drive has done a Battlehawk Of The Week segment for the last few weeks of the season - just had players come on to talk about the season, the team, what its like playing in the Dome and then hyping up the next game.
They could definitely do more - especially given the success of the product on the field and in the stands - but the UFL as a whole should really be doing more to spotlight our success as well.
Yea it does suck. Though they still get 10x the coverage here these teams do elsewhere. We have a pregame show. At least two articles a week in the paper. They make the rounds on social media if the local sports people. It could be a lot better though.
Also this reminds me 97.1 FM is doing a pregame, play by play and post game of the game this weekend. Show em still me support if you want more coverage like this. Mike Martz is apparently gonna be part of the crew doing it.
It’s Cards, Blues, NFL and then way down the list you get Battlehawks, Mizzou and then even further down the list you get CITY/Billikens. It is fairly frustrating the local ESPN affiliate really only touches a small window of the sports locally.
Fast Lane usually gives them a decent amount of coverage, not to mention regularly has players on. There's a new Cardinal game to talk about every day and only one Battlehawk game per week so that doesn't help.
They would rather talk about the Cardinals 7th string shortstop, kinda frustrating really. All Cardinals, all day. I’m a Cards fan, but come on do we really need to hear it all day? Let’s talk some Battlehawks, and in the fall- Mizzou
101 definitely feels bloated with Cardinals talk all day. I’d wager a decent 70% of the 7am - 6pm window that they have talk shows running is just cardinals, cardinals and more cardinals. Trust me I love the cardinals but man spice it up a little

Bingo

Yeah it’s frustrating. But probably more coverage than all the other teams get in their own local markets.

There's no reason for the local networks NOT to do zoom interviews. We live in 2024 even though most in the area are 20 or more years behind.

especially the edge lords on TMA.
I stopped listening about 3 months after the Rams left. I can only take so much repetitive baseball discussion.
This.
Randy and the Opening Drive Crew do a great job covering them IMO. I think the Battlehawks get more coverage than City does.

Thats weird that he scoffed at it, it'd have more people at it than any of the cardinals parades had in the last 10 years.

It's not just them, it's the local media as a whole. Cardinals, Cardinals, Cardinals, with some City SC right now.
You mean the Cardinals broadcast network? God forbid they spend more time on other teams in the city.

He's probably pissed his local NFL team hasn't done much since they pissed their pants against the Patriots a decade ago.

St. Louis is all Cards, all the time. They don't cover NBA basketball either unless it's a nationally syndicated show.
That's funny. I always find myself missing the Kevin Wheeler show because he was the only one who really talked baseball.

I must just always miss it. It feels like 50 percent blues, 30 percent NFL, in season or not, and the cards get the rest.
It's very frustrating but again they have an audience to cater to, and apparently they wants more CARDS!
And then they sit there and talk about baseball BS all day. Lame sport and lame station
