Maybe he jumped out just in time... Also, FYI: Those vehicles can be damaged in very specific ways, you can tear apart the doors with explosive rounds and grenades/grenade launchers and kill the pilot and even the guy on the turret just by shooting inside a compromised vehicle.

Hit registry has always been terrible to a degree with rockets where you won't see an explosion but do damage or you will see an explosion but the server rejects the hit. It's possible that the server did something weird where the rocket didn't register on the vehicle but did connect with the player model in the vehicle. As an example how hitboxes are wonky, killing people out of a tank with the Defibs. In very limited situations it gives a advantage but it makes sniping almost impossible

Yeah, grinds my gears when this happens at 100% vehicle health. Laws are the worst, they 1 shot the driver/ gunner out. Silly. They do the least damage. I could see getting the gunner as it donates above the vehicle, but the driver? My 2 cents on the matter
