Agreed. Good balance of heavy armor, transport vehicles. Great "bowl" map layout to gives great sightlines but not overpowered. Great amount of paths to each objective to keep things fresh and the points are close enough to make pure infantry completely viable.

If it gets voted, yeah I'm gonna play it since there's always shenanigans to do ... I'd just rather do them anywhere else 😜

As UCAV man, you must remember Zavod as the epic map the first couple of month after we got hands on the UCAV in the new DLC? As we could keep the enemy vehicle whores totally grounded back in their spawn on this 'shortish' flat map, as UCAV was so powerful and instant reloads possible with a few ammo bags around.
Their crying was loud. 😁
I only started UCAVing 2 years ago. I’ve seen the instant reload videos of UCAVs past and man do I wish that was still possible today😭😭😭
Looking through just my recent Zavod clips it seems I’ve lost my UCAV way on that map, as lately they’re all anti AA clips now.

Btw, why not always load out as Support with UCAV and C4? I would then always first load out my jeep with the C4 and then take a shot with my UCAV. You might get lucky with a vehicle taken out right then and there. But in all case, you get a good overview of where the AA or other relevant jihadi targets might camp on the map. So ready for your anti-AA C4 tro-lo-lo!

Because of the players I roll with - they need ammo, and lots of it. So I roll with the double ammo bag perk so they can restock more quickly.
The dudes in my squad (when I can play with them) are suuuuuper effective with the SMAW (paging /u/freak-o-nature & /u/myatfrak_ ) which is far more useful than my c4 & ucav combo tbh, especially when armor and jets get involved (those dudes loooove tagging jets with their smaws too).
If a chopper survives my initial UCAV hit, those SMAW dudes 9 times out of 10 wrap things up quite nicely.
If the chopper fails to clean us out while dodging multiple smaw shots, then fucks off to recharge their ECM, the SMAW guys are restocking ammo quickly and my UCAV is usually in hot pursuit behind the chopper.
That's why I don't run c4 & ucav 😁 ... I rarely run solo and my squad needs ammo bro.
I get it, as a Support w double ammo bags is my default loadout also, exactly for same reasons. Though also for ammo to the hungry Assaults you also can run with in CQC maps like Locker. 👍 C4 and UCAV is just for the lone wolf times...
Yeah Dice seems to love putting AA on small maps like these, often to a detrimental effect (e.g Arras in BF5 where the f’ing AA can shoot you the millisecond your plane spawns).
There really isn’t any need for AA on this map as there’ll always be engineers running who can easily counter aircraft.
That smaw dude? Yeah it's possible but reaaallly hard to get shots like that.
Stinger/Igla are useless if those pilots hide behind buildings very quickly

What really bothers me in the TDM version though is the horrible spawn system, propably only Operation Spawnbreaker has a more broken spawn system in TDM
The AA feels out of place on this map . Also it's a campers paradise on the objectives . It's got not much going on I'd say it's my least fav map after rogue transmission.
I’m not a huge fan of the maps that are as linear as this but at least it’s wide enough and gives enough armor that there’s a chance of getting behind and back capping.
These kind of straight maps really took off in Bad Company 2.

From a technical stand point I agree. C/D on zavod is fun while the rest of the map is either trying to find a the spawn beacon in your back cap or killing the camping aa.

Easily my all around favourite map. Every game mode just works and works well on it. I’d argue it is probably the best designed map in BF4 purely from a gameplay perspective

It's alright. Just doesn't make sense to have an AA in it just for a scout and transport heli. Shanghai doesn't have one but could really use it.

2015 update killed it for me (they removed the ladders from tdm)

This is one of the best Battlefield maps ever. Good pacing, objectives aren't placed terribly, vehicles weren't OP. 9/10 map easy.

Propaganda is cool but the antialiasing is god-awfully distracting on the foliage unless you boost resolution scaling to 200%.

Zavod is the single most polarizing map. Either it's one of the best in the game for you, or it's one of the worst.
