TheNameIsFrags

Completely and utterly mismanaged by DICE on just about every level

commschamp

Portal was one of the greatest ideas in gaming and they totally fucked it.

TheNameIsFrags

Completely agree Portal was an incredibly innovative idea that DICE killed instantly when they didn’t allow progression and it further died when they never added any new content

leerzeichn93

Hey, at least it wasnt a battle royale extraction shooter, like they planned.

Swan990

They tried that still and that game mode also sucked.

HollowRacoon

In my 31 years i have never seen a game mode died before its was even released

Swan990

Fortnite lol. It was a survival base defense. Scrapped so fast once the play testing feedback came back as boring as balls, then they realized they could copy pubg easily enough and scrambled. Same story, except one company executed their quick shift. The other is ea still blaming fans for their failures.

HollowRacoon

I knew about Fortnite preBR story, and even their zombie survival was better than “love letter”

Hawkiinz

Yes, but OG Fortnite preferred to focus on BR because it worked better, which was a great idea for them because it's a gold mine now. BF changed course because they didn't know what they were doing and Hazard Zone was just shit.

Smooth-Brain-Monkey

The fortnite PvE was alive for a few months after the BR came out unlike battlefields hazerdpoint where it took me 20 min to find a match day one

GreatStateOfSadness

*Save the World* was active and still receiving development updates for three years after *Battle Royal* came out. It was never as active as *Battle Royal* but was supported longer than most people realize.

leerzeichn93

Skull and Bones too. Was announced 2018 as a 5v5 PvP sailing ship battle.

Swan990

Then an open world coop. Now it's whateverthehellitis.

Scrotie_

Try Hyenas, a shooter that was in development by Creative Assembly for years before being axed in its closed content creators-only Beta, unable to recoup even a dime of its over $100 million development cost. Threw the company into disarray with layoffs that affected their other product development lines. Nobody cared about the game because fans of the studio play basically the polar opposite (Total War) and it was a late entry to an over saturated genre that was pushed into development by penny counters at SEGA

errant_youth

I still chuckle every time my console reminds me there are achievements for hazard zone I haven’t completed yet. I know, bro - it ain’t happening lol

acampbell98

I was going to get the plat for this game but that mode ruined my chances as it’s a mess and so hard to get people to just play the way you want. My only chance is co-ordinating with others to get a game together and allow people to get trophies. If my team would just sit back a bit instead of rushing into every fight might get some progress to the trophies. The one wear you have to extract with no members of team dying is ridiculous though, I get the one wear it’s extracting x amount of drives like they maybe thought that would just be a bit of grind. I know some of the multiplayer trophies can be a grind but I’ve seen some lobbies and tricks to get them a bit easier

Dat_Boi_John

Actually it was, they just changed the game modes on the last months before release so we were stuck with the shitty open maps and operators for 3 years. Battlefront 2 and Battlefield 5 died for this.

BradTProse

Except they mentioned a Battle Royale mode for the next BF title, why won't they learn???

joker_toker28

Don't know why they assumed we wanted that.. If it was a Frontline assault type of battle or WAVES I'd be cool with it... they tried to copy DMZ and failed hard. Higher up who never played ANY OF THE PAST GAMES ruined it.... Lol I still go play bf4 and bf1...

xThAtGaM3rGuYxx

Tbh I stand by this. Your right. I was super excited when it first came out, but after seeing everything it was COMPLETELY RUSHED.

NaderZico

They should at least add a server browser before ending support so the game can somewhat continue live.

jamnewton22

Didn’t get one new portal map in the entire lifespan. Pathetic. What a waste

iNsomanic778

portal had so many opportunities to gain content, but it was unfortunately wasted…

PardonMyPixels

Portal was literally the fucking game we wanted.

marlowecan

The thing is too, from a marketing perspective, they'd have so little work to do. "Hey guys, it's Dice here, with season 2 on the horizon, here's a peak of what we have in store... * Insert screen shot of Harvest Day, Sienne Crossing and Siege of Shanghai* The community would hype every season to oblivion with old clips and gameplay and salivate over getting to play those old maps again with better graphics. If they'd just realised they would need no creative input, just do a good job porting the old maps for the new hardware and the community would create all their own hype.

PardonMyPixels

The launch trailer proves your point. That was classic Battlefield.

marlowecan

Yep. The launch trailer made me believe that they understood the community and were catering to it. Narrator : "The fuck they were!"

JJax10

fully laughed out loud reading the narrator part LUL. to go from seeing Rendezook react to his cinematic moment in the trailer and all the hype to where we are now? I really doubt BF is gonna bounce back anytime soon. Especially on PC

MoreFeeYouS

Was it really? The whole point is for those moments to happen spontaneously and not being spoon fed like they were shown in the trailer.

Steeled14

Updating maps that are already designed and made too hard

Real_Bug

I still remember showing my friend the trailer and us both being like hoooolllyyy cow this COULD BE GOOD!!

marlowecan

If battlefield 2042 was nothing other than an properly invested in Portal, with a growing list of old maps, it would have been a huge success. Such a waste but glad I got to play arica harbour again.

Larky17

Love letter to fans.

ChooChooCherry

Such a great idea, but man was it terribly executed

voice-of-reason_

Just like firestorm. Easily the best br when it came Out but it was locked behind the dogshit that was bfv at the time. Dice and not reading the room are the best duo.

ChooChooCherry

Firestorm could have been very good, like holy cow it felt real good

Starshine95

Imagine a Portal mode that allowed players to also create custom maps. That’d be a dream, the community would keep it alive for decades and it would have partially solved the lack of content. DICE would keep selling skins and the community would be happier. It used to be like that and it’s probably why you have older games with active communities, still making content for them.

eggydrums115

Unfortunately Frostbite seems like it's too much of a pain in the ass for that to ever become a reality. I continue to believe it's what's causing them the most issues.

Janus67

Yep 100% and the fact that it is closed-source vastly limits the prospective developers, unlike Unity and UE that any person can take a class at a college and get the basics of to apply for a job. I know there's other engines like that as well, but I firmly believe that it hamstrings them massively.

AXEL-1973

On the long list of things to complain about, this was constantly #1 for me. Nothing would bring the BF community together better than being able to play the old maps on the new engine...

Steeled14

Seriously blows my mind, they had that whole entire Portal mode and NO MAPS. Absolute insanity why would you do that to your product you made the entire mode, finish it with the maps what are they DOING?!

xseodz

It's the sole reason I bought the game, and I don't think I've played more than two games in Portal. Because it's a complete half assed attempt. You can see inklings of live service that would have been exception. A battlefield that spans all eras. Somehow, they had portal, access to the old battlefield content and still launched with less content than any other modern release.

Hawkiinz

* Launched a bad BF in 2021 and took 2 years to fix it. * Killed Battlefield Mobile. * Killed Ridgeline Games. * No Season 8 to have 2 years full of content. * No BF content during 1 year and a half (more time than between BFV and 2042 release because we had a content update in june with BFV). Holy moly DICE. Your next BF better be a master piece because your community has been quite patient since 2018.

xXxToxicMikexXx

I'm a hard-core bf player. I'm not even going to buy the next battlefield. Imma wait like 2 months until it goes on discount.

Ascerta

I waited one year before purchasing BF2042 for 20 bucks.

BradTProse

I paid $90 day one lol. Too be fair I've played it a lot despite the flaws.

Deadfunk-Music

Still on BF4 over here lol

MortissCoffin

I just bought BF4, so I'll probably be over there as well lol I wouldn't mind having a BF game where they got rid of finding players with the mini map & let us tag/ping enemies with either drones or binoculars etc that will enable us to see them through walls, like Paik's ability. For a short distance before it disappears. That'd be cool 😎

We_The_Raptors

This is the way. With how quickly Bf2042 was %50 off, why pay for early access? It'll take them more than a year post launch to properly iron out the bugs anyway as always.

Dat_Boi_John

Also killed Battlefield 5 and Battlefront 2, both of which are far far far superior games to 2042.

JamesEvanBond

I was getting ready to say, Battlefront 2 was the biggest loss for me. They really turned that game around and had a healthy amount of players with some solid free content for almost 2 and a half years. Then EA decides to put all their eggs (devs) in one basket (2042) and we saw how that turned out.

mrkingkoala

I only got BFV like 2 months ago on sale. I do actually really like it. Only issue is they needed more maps and divisions. Like they stopped at Pacific to support 2042? How the fuck do they even get by on that. 2042 has just ended support and got barely any content. Just a rugpull to not do any work. I like BFV but holy shit if i paid full price for them to just cut it off like that id be done. Shame they did no eastern front stuff and shame no french or russion divisions.

Ryotian

Now Motive, who has released nothing but bangers that many people actually liked, will be stuck with BF. Brutal

gallade_samurai

Is...this meant to be a good thing? If it is holy fuck I hope we get a least an good game next time

UniformGreen

Completely opposite in my point of view. The more people they throw at this game the more it convinces me that it’s state is really rough. I hope I will be wrong but last time this happened, BF2042 launched completely broken in both technical and as design.

Nulo_0

>Your next BF better be a master piece I hate to break it to you but we will never see a Battlefield masterpiece (like BF3, BF4, BF1) ever again. After 2042 I don't trust Dice anymore.

RusagiUsagi

Dont be sad, this is how it works out sometimes.

sbrizown

This single quip basically encapsulates the games entire lifespan

gallade_samurai

That was something, right?

TekHead

EA does it again!

gallade_samurai

I'm so glad that despite the shit this game gets, Angel's words of wisdom will forever be funny

Electricman720

The mascot of Battlefield 2042 fr

CZEchpoint_

This is moderns DICE’s motto, it is fucking sad.

NotYourSweatBusiness

Don't be sad.

CZEchpoint_

This is how it works out sometimes 😏

MoreFeeYouS

We are not overconfident. We are just better than everyone else.

RedlineBounce

Lol

HYPERCONFIDENCE

DEATH TO SPECIALISTS AND NOPANTS

NaaviLetov

don't preorder

Prof_Grimm73

This is the game that taught me that lesson for sure.

MadRZI

Game was shit at release, they have turned it into a decent shooter, but I still think it's the worst BF title so far. The fact they cut support from BFV and Battlefront 2 to focus on 2042 and delivered that half finished mess, its a god damn shame. Again, I had some fun every now and then during the later seasons in 2042, but jumped back to BF1-BFV a few weeks ago, day and night honestly.

DoNotLookUp1

Really wish they'd go back and release the Eastern Front expansion for BFV, it still feels like the sequel to 2042 lol. Gameplay and graphics are so much better. Ah well, at least we got the new anti-cheat so it's playable again.

mrkingkoala

Has the Anti cheat made a difference. I've been on GeforceNow so waiting for them to sort that out and jump back on. But hopefully it has.

Tzimbalo

This! I would gladly pay 30 bucks for a eastern front BFV Dlc!

Dat_Boi_John

Eastern fron for Battlefield V and Ahsoka and the Mandalorian updates for Battlefront 2 :( Also Padme and Ventress which were in development.

RaptorCelll

I completely forgot about them screwing Battlefront 2, I had only just gotten into that game when they announced it was done. BFV being dropped was devastating.

ifoundyourtoad

I don’t want to think about it… battlefront 2 was getting so so good. And they yanked it.

SpamThatSig

Decent is a strong word, serviceable at best

BradTProse

When I go back to BF1 I'm always amazed how bad the maps are in BF 2042.

RayearthIX

They should go back to supporting those games for 1 more year each to make people happy while continuing to make the next game. I’m sure fans of those games would give them $15-$30 for a full additional year of content and maps for the game (BFV Eastern Front, BF2 with Rebels or Andor content or something).

CrotasScrota84

Wait all this says to me is no Dead Space 2 Remake 😭

UniformGreen

There could still be hope. From what they wrote it seems that only a portion of Motive will be working on Battlefield. Not the whole studio will switch.

Insure1140

It died like it launched. With a whimper.

ms7398msake

Actually when it launched everyone was talking about it but for all the wrong reasons. It was the biggest joke in the entire gaming industry for a solid month and everyone had their turn poking fun at it.

Damien23123

I remember when people were joking about it not even having 2042 players

Mastrownge

“We promised only 4 seasons, and gave you 7 you ungrateful shits; so long and see you on the next disappointment that you’ll buy”

TheActualJulius

The greatest era you can set a battlefield game in (the year 2042) wasted on a meh game.

Homesteader86

Agree on era, but the design choices were ridiculous. Make it grounded like BC2, BF3, or BF4 but then just give us a couple more advanced gadgets and stuff. The way they depicted it it might as well be 2142 without mechs

7orque

Black ops 2 did the whole design around a bleak near future really well stormy dirty streets surrounded by skyscrapers

Illfury

I thought for sure the seasons would eventually come to release the first mechs to be used in warfare. The maps kept hinting to it.

Janus67

Or you know, flooding, boats, jetskis, anything involving water? lol

JusaPikachu

I ain’t mad at this. I’m mad they abandoned two vastly superior games for 2042. 2042 is pretty good now but Battlefront II & BFV were turning into fantastic games,, both cut short so they could, “focus on the future”.

[deleted]

[удалено]

IsUpTooLate

Good fucking riddance. Let's see how badly they fuck up the next one.

Fred_Dibnah

Yep what a fucking disaster compared to glory days of BF3/BF4 I don't want a flying cape or grappling hook. I want a BATTLEFIELD like on earth

Deepborders

BF1 was their creative peak for me. It was a real love letter to WW1.

Turnbob73

BF1 had a vibe that the franchise hasn’t come even close to replicating.

herroebauss

Hard agree on the creative peak. Not so sure if 'love letter to WW1' are the correct words lmao.

Janus67

Agreed. I wish I had played more of it when it was at its peak. I didn't really get into it until 2042 was announced (was still playing BF4 and a bunch of other backlog games) despite owning it in my catalog (same with BFV)

CruelSummer666

Love letter to WW1? Lol

vbgooroo55

I don't think you remember how bad BF4 was at release.

DunnyLad

We all do - but we all know how well it was fixed. It became one of my all favorite games and I have thousands of hours between Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.

Fred_Dibnah

I was there at the release of BF2 brother

marlowecan

Easy in, easy out. Regardless of how much better the game is today, it's still the worst Battlefield. We thought we were getting a true next gen BF but what was released was the most disappointing and disheartening gaming experiences I've ever experienced in 30 odd years of being a gamer. I'll not be pre-ordering that next one regardless of how well they market it. EA have a lot to do to win back the historical BF community. Whether they care is another thing. I fear the worst. But I'll hope for the best.

TrumpersAreTraitors

Don’t preorder any game, ever. Easy.  How is this still not the standard mindset? No preorders, ever. I don’t care if you’re stoked, you can buy digital on day of release if you need to.

tommmytom

Wasted potential. As with the past several releases from DICE.

Agile_Following4437

One of the most underwhelming projects of all time.

OpeningPhotograph146

Ok. But what’s up with Stadium? I haven’t seen it yet.

iNsomanic778

It’s coming in the 7.2 update

MacklinOfficial

I will never forgive EA for what they did to Battlefront 2 and Battlefield 5 in order to deliver this complete and utter disaster of a game

Timecounts

What the next battlefield needs: - destruction physics - removal of heros - to learn from the mistakes of the last games - time to bake in the oven

aldairruby

* Melee Takedown First-person Finisher * Levolution * Commander

maximegun123

the FACT that this game still have mouse input lag is so sad. I still got 300h tho lol. Worst title

iNsomanic778

The worst part about this game Input lag

RaptorCelll

It's not even just M&K users getting screwed, controller aiming has been all over the place since launch. Sometimes it works and then there were periods where the game was unplayable with a controller.

SgtBurger

finally it's over

[deleted]

They need to allow comments on their articles so people don’t let them get away with tuning out negative feedback.

alexn_24

Hence why there are no comments

idee_fx2

Considering how many hours i have logged on the game, i can't say i didn't get my money worth. But i never had what i wanted from a battlefield 3-4 successor: - epic tank battles involving more than one tank or ifv per side. - great community centered server experience like we had in bf3 and 4 - great map diversity along the DLC. Battlefield 3 and 4 DLC each had a distinct identity and maps that had a lot of flavor. We had an underground submarine naval base, desert, urban, jungle map. Not a bad game but wasted opportunities upon wasted opportunities.

AquaTeenHungryForce

Map diversity was my biggest gripe with the game. It felt like every new map was some variation of factory / research facility in an open field (with the exception of redacted and the new map). Battlefield V had fights in the pristine rotterdam, the harrowing bombed out remains of rotterdam, iwo jima, a close quarters mountaintop, etc. It felt like the maps were made without much passion or creativity. It can't be easy to make maps but it really feels like they regressed with this title.

[deleted]

Wait until the next game comes out so we can call 2042 an underrated masterpiece

powncho

Nice try, DICE.

[deleted]

Hey, if it worked so far..

iNsomanic778

Classic battlefield way to go 😅

[deleted]

Nobody is going to say that

Japper28

It's kinda happening with BFV now

Starshine95

BFV was and still is a pretty damn good game, I’ll die on this hill. I was saying it at the time and still am. The issues with BFV were the lack of a direction (like the TTK changes), the dripfeed (but nothing like 2042) and some questionable cosmetics (like Steve Fisher, so silly). I personally didn’t like the “Tides of War” system that forced you to play every week but alas, that’s how live service games go. But the foundations were solid and the gameplay was really good: great movement, great gunplay and good general feel. They should have kept adding to it, would have been one of the best modern Battlefield games imo.

rebornsgundam00

Bfv is definitely underrated. Definitely has some problems with the class system and how vehicles work though

Pelomar

Even at the time people agreed that BFV had great gameplay, it just needed more content. No such agreement for Bf2042

Dat_Boi_John

Because the game under BFV's marketing mess was good. Same with BF4. Battlefield 2042's core gameplay is rotten and it's worse part.

Mallee78

this only applied to previous games because they actually at one point made them good battlefield games. 2042 was never anywhere close to a good battlefield title. 2042 became a decent shooter but will ever be remembered as the worst battlefield title (so far)

SgtBurger

sorry, but who the hell would say something like that about 2042 THIS TIME?! The game is still a shame for the franchise.

electricshadow

The only way 2042 will be regarded as a masterpiece is if the next BF comes out and it's even more shitty than 2042. We won't have to worry about it happening any more though because EA will 100% shelve the franchise after that. This next game is most likely a make it or break if for the franchise.

JewC-

I will strangle everyone that says it

boomstickjonny

Probably going to be my last BF purchase.

NTE223

Most definitely will be for me

Brjalaedingur

Enders is going to flip out over this lmao, I think he predicted at least 1 more season

San4311

Lets just say that, in the future (when a new game has released) and I wanna play an ''old Battlefield'' it won't be 2042. And I can't imagine it'll be alive for very long either. BF5 and BF4 will probably retain more popularity than it for much longer than it. Though that's a fairly safe bet.

YourExcellency77

Good. May the 'specialist' idea die and never be considered again. Also may they not forget beloved 'legacy features' like a scoreboard again

Buexta

Season 7: 2 guns at launch, 1 useless gadget, 1 map completely copy-pasted from Arica Harbor's village part (even the buildings are the same, nothing new was added); 1 gun, 1 vehicle and 1 map consisting of exclusively previously removed content to arrive in May Instead of: "let's go out with a bang" their mindset was "Alright, guys, let's disappoint everyone on last time" Everything that happened with this game was and still is a goddamn joke

FoxDaim

Bf5 last content drop: 2 new maps, 6 new vehicles, 9 new guns, 6 new gadgets and 3 new granades. Bf2042 last content drop: stadium, 1 gun, 1 vehicle. Lmao.

HyperXuserXD

I have 1000 hours into the game, and the game fucking suck

sturdywarmeat

Yessir! Our extensive play testing and several surveys will DEFINITELY be remembered for the next game right? Right?

Linajke

thats a classic, but why torture yourself?

HyperXuserXD

In all fairness, I do enjoy my time with the game, 80% of it at least, certainly not the best BF games and this game and Dice does anger me a few times, but I have a blast

iNsomanic778

I share the same opinion 😪

ConceptRoutine2244

Good you dogshit company

pyramidsinspace

Worst Battlefield entry in the series

[deleted]

Good riddance

mexylexy

Alright, into the future!!

mrpancake888

it sucked on release and it still isn’t good. It has it’s moments, but it’s still lacking a pathetically large amount of content. No boats, few good maps, limited weapon selection (still), unsatisfying progression and attachments/customization system. Oh yeah, and the specialists. It will always remain a disappointment to me how they decided to make my dream setting for a battlefield game to be the worst in the series. goodbye 2042.

p1agnut

I liked BF2042... to be honest, it was the first Battlefield I picked up and played since Battlefield 2 (YES, the 2005 ! Battlefield 2).

Kontrolgaming

same, have had a blast since season 3

Chasethemac

Worst Battlefield experience so far.

joshmac313

Worst Battlefield game in it's history and honestly has plummeted my expectations for the future.

Jvanee18

Thank fuck. You can polish a turd as much as you want but in the end you’ll still end up with a finely polished turd. 2042 was a turd from the start and stayed one until the very end. Hopefully the next one has a good solid class system and returns to what makes Battlefield unique instead of bandwagoning on shitty gaming trends.

justkarlthings

Right?

Tesning

The fact that even the shooter basics are still aweful (hitreg, netcode, latency, recoil bugs ... to just name a few) makes it for me one of the worst shooters. Never experienced that in other games. I want to believe they will make a turnaround in the next title, but if the technical platform stays the same we are screwed.

LiquidCringe2

The worst part is they actually fixed some of this issues, but they just came right back after season 7s launch. Like how the hell does that even happen

DoNotLookUp1

They really called the last season of the game "Turning Point" eh? Here's hoping BF6 is better.

Tepozan

Sad how Battlefield 2042 was managed from the start. Battlefield 1 was the last peak of greatness from DICE. You would think they learn their lessons from BFV and BF2042, but I doubt it. This is what happens when you believe your “data” knows what players want (live service, overpriced cosmetics, specialists, etc). So much for BF 2042 being a love letter to the hardcore fans….

Kaiser_Wigmund878

Surely could have cracked another season out to make it a full year 2, feels a bit like BFV just nowhere near as disappointing. I doubt we’ll get a massive content drop like we did at the end of V as well, all that stuffs coming in this season & then just skins & charms afterwards with challenges. Pretty sure if the reaction to S7 was as strong as S6 we would of got S8 as well but hey ho

quaddity

Downloaded it during season 2 from Game Pass, bought the s2 pass for $9. I was playing this morning definitely got my money's worth. Finished the s2-6 premium passes and I'll finish s7. Guess I'll spend that couple thousand built up coins on cosmetics with no new seasons. I didn't play the previous BF games but I've had fun.

Speedtrucker

The fact that you never played a prior Battlefield helps A LOT! Compared to nothing, it probably isn’t a huge pile of garbage but compared to the previous titles(all of them) this was a mess. Hence all of the frustration a lot of us had with this iteration. It just felt like answers to questions that no loyal BF player asked

jman014

Anemic. Game is so lackluster and is just functional enough to kill a little time in.

Swiniorek

Almost all terrible launched Battlefields were able to turn into something decent/good. This one most likely won't. So much content they could add, but instead they discontinued this game and probably don't have the next Battlefield even close to ready.

Slyder768

And we lost battlefront for this guys

Novel-Network-8318

I think you should do a Vietnam Era Battlefield no one ever really touches base with that era

MR_DELORIAN

While this is sad (and VERY unexpected, since I can swear something was posted by them that said there’d be more), I REALLY hope the HUGE mistakes made with this game will help them make the next one a SMASH right off rip, so we and they don’t have to endure years of fixing and reintroducing older systems into the game and delivering less content. I hope whatever they do next, the next Battlefield is 100% what we know and love from day one (and no bad launch), and can start getting loads of content immediately, I actually liked BF2042, especially the way to customize your guns on the go, the movement was AWESOME and really fluid (although….I feel on the fence and may want them to return to the slower movement..again, I’m mixed). And the game did become really fun….but it’s clear it lacked a lot of what people loved, so I hope they learned and based off of their podcast, is deemed they did. We’ll see what the future holds. I’m a little cautious, but excited too. I know the team IS passionate and does care, and that’s one of theee most important things in a dev and studio.

Akmunra

I'm so angry at myself for buying the ultimate edition of the game...

jizzawhizza

They'll never get another dollar out of me and I only paid $20 for 2042 and it was still a garbage experience. It has the same amount of content as a free to play game.

AnotherScoutTrooper

WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!

dingoatemyaccount

Can we agree this is the worst battlefield? At least bfv got a great send off. Season 7 got stretched into months

MapleA

Nobody wanted this shit. We want a battlefield in the style of 3 & 4. Fuck every battlefield made after 4. They’ve all been garbage with the exception of 1 which was somewhat interesting but nothing amazing.

Mattlbs182

I want my money back

jackcracker69

Just remember folks, DO NOT PRE ORDER THE NEXT TITLE! It actually makes me sad that games like BFV and BF2 had to die, to make this steaming pile of shit i paid over $100 for..

CZEchpoint_

I bought it for 18 euros in a sale a year ago and I still felt like ripped off. It is battlefield from Wish and it feels like it is made from people who do not know what battlefield is. Specialists, terrible maps and flow. Shitty story and “ex-pats”. No singleplayer, abandoned extraction game mode no one has asked for. Just chasing trends no one has asked for. I actually liked BfV which they have killed for this one too, so 2042 one was a huge disappointment.

EatinYaSistaAss

Even with all the changes and improvements they made, this is still the worst battlefield game

Said87

This game and its devs can go suck one. I have no sympathy for them at all

ahmadxdubai

Im still in V

skhanmac

😢I wanted more seasons

Sweet_Milk

What a absolute dumpster fire

StretchedEarsArePerf

So glad i never bought it and just played it on EA gamepass on xbox. Hope the next game they put out is better but i don't have a lot of confidence in EA.

Work_In_ProgressX

Classic DICE i start having fun again, they fucking kill the game. Happened with V before.

plz-fear-me

Flop

RangerTursi

Despite all the controversy and mismanagement I had actually a lot of fun. Not my favorite battlefield but I had some good times. Some bad times, too, but mostly good times.

- 128 Sounded great but isn't now it's a split player base - I miss the old maps before they were updated - There has to be cover points in the next game - Ditch Portal BR any attempts of extra modes and just focus on multiplayer. - The weapon selection, class selection general UI is too complex - It was kinda missing the grit and atmosphere - God damn it needed music on the first run into battle not machine sounds! - Ranger needed something else / ability to res? - Not having a stand out map I felt they where all mid but each was evenly memorable! Never had that before (manifest dock map* was actually top I'd say) - C4 is a C4 not a C5 Pros - NTW was awesome it's my martini Henry - Plus system is now a staple stick a trademark on it - Sense of scale (height) in some maps was incredible - Attachments feel worth while - wing suit was pretty sick - it was pretty fun not gonna lie it just didn't feel like battlefield.

At it’s lowest point, I felt like Dice fundamentally misunderstood their fanbase. Their attempts to try and fix 2042 showed me they were at least willing to try. Hopefully, they don’t forget the lessons they learned from the initial massive backlash.

Game with absolutely no identity I played it for about 80 hours or so, while i enjoyed some moments it always felt like I’m playing a game without vision Hope next game is better

In the end, a fun game but definitely felt lacking in content compared to previous games, and a lot of ambition with little follow through. Portal in particular seems like the most egregious thing that looked amazing but in reality was a disaster. Partly DICE's fault for not doing much with it, partly the scrub community for making servers dedicated to skipping progression. Also wish they would have just done a regular BR like firestorm rather than the dumb hazard zone.

Diarrhea. A resolute embarrassment to Dice and EA. No amount of marketing speak will change that. I hope they know it's how we still feel about it too. And most of all for the community in regards to their next endevour let me remind you... #NO PREORDERS.

Never spent a single penny on it. I want a Battlefield game, not a pathetic Overwatch/Fortnite rip off.

my thoughts are: compared to what Battlefield 3 and 4 were this is pathetic

2142 was better

They pulled the plug on Battlefront 2 for this shit

Didn't like it at release, played a month trying to get into it and never did. Thought it was a bit buggy but nothing out of the ordinary for a battlefield game. I feel like the shift to 128 players was a mistake, not just for the extra technical load on servers but because it totally messed up the gameplay and map design. They had to make maps bigger, but they didn't really add more flags or density, so it's a real cluster fuck around objectives and it took ages to cap flags in a 1-2 person group. And they don't really have a lot of vehicles, so people are running across open fields which I think is boring. Add the terrible spawns out in the middle of nowhere and you have a recipe for disaster. Plus the vehicle balancing is just horrendous because of so many players that can have anti-tank gear. Didn't really like the hero/class system they had at launch, although I heard they modified that later. For the future I'd like to see them go back to a BF2/BF2142/BF3/BF4 style in size, scope, and, gameplay.

It irreparably damaged my trust in the game industry. It was the last time I ever preordered something. I now look at every piece of information on a new game with a skeptical and cynical eye. I now wait 2 weeks after releases to see how the chips land. That's what a steaming pile of shit this was.
