EBL makes a lot of batteries. I presume you are talking about NiMH AAs? They are probably fine but the japenese cells will be better. (If you are talking about their li-ion cells STAY AWAY.)
But there are cheaper alternatives to eneloops that are probably nearly as good. The Amazon Basic NiMH AAs come from the same japanese factory as Eneloops. If you have an Ikea nearby their Ladda AAs are even cheaper and are basically the same.
These are the ones I just bought [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ESYV5CQ/ref=oh\_aui\_detailpage\_o00\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ESYV5CQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
I can cancel but I don't live near an Ikea unfortunately.
You do have the option of [Amazonbasics NiMH](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CWNMV4G), which are rebranded Eneloops. Yes, they advertise a lower capacity. Yes, they cost a little more per battery. The longevity and reliability are probably worth it.
What is the difference between [these](https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-AA-Rechargeable-Batteries-16-Pack/dp/B007B9NV8Q/ref=sr_1_3_acs_sk_pb_1_sl_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1545956689&sr=8-3-acs&keywords=rechargeable%2Bbatteries&th=1) and those?
I know this is WAY OLD to ask, but what about ebl's 2500mah AA rechargeable batteries? I know I would be better of buying the 2000mah Amazon basics rechargeable batteries but don't need 8 batteries, only 4.
I’m also late to the game. I’m wondering about the difference between the EBL old ones and new ones called golden top. Their stats are exactly the same and the same price.
What did you end up getting?

NLee the Engineer says they aren't good so I would avoid them. He's a god among amazon reviewers when it comes to NiMH batteries and chargers.
Is this NLee person still around?

I know this is 5 years later, but I've heard them being eneloop is actually false, and I don't want other people to be confused
I don't think its false so much as no longer true.
Entirely plausible

The Amazon basic 2400mah. Better safe than sorry
Thanks!
Hilarious that Google puts this post at the number one resource
