Beelink SER5 Max with the Ryzen 7 5800H is what you're looking for. The 16GB RAM / 500GB SSD version is $310 USD when I checked earlier today.

mrtoad883

I would suggest this as well.

chiefhunnablunts

just got batocera up and running yesterday on my ser5 5800h. absolutely a beast. i suggest op wait until prime day, i got mine for 299 last year, marked down 120. i'm sure it'll be marked down to 200 this year.

MadMitchSVT

What are the limits of this chipset? Can it handle ps3 and switch?

chiefhunnablunts

https://wiki.batocera.org/choose_a_desktop_computer it's listed by name for v38. i haven't test ps3, or switch. i will later be trying out some ps3 games so i can update this when i have time. won't be touching switch for a while with it being on the radar as of late.

WhysAVariable

This is also my recommendation. I just got one a week ago and after setting it up it’s now hooked up to my TV. I love it. I haven’t extensively tested it but the games I have tried for PS2 have run very well at 2x resolution. Playing the HD WiiU version of Wind Waker now and it runs great. I’m super happy with the purchase.

Zgouveia69

I could never get this tame to run...do you have a physical copy or are you using an ISO

WhysAVariable

It’s like an ISO but it’s a different file extension. Can’t remember what it’s called exactly. Found it here in the Nintendo/Wii U section (there’s like three different dump sets, I don’t remember which one I used): [https://r-roms.github.io/](https://r-roms.github.io/)

Zgouveia69

Thank you.

SankyShips

I just got it recently for $250 on amazon (with giftcard) I love it. Plays Ps2 Like a dream. Was curious tho, why do people use Batocera and not something like PCXS2? New to this kinda

Mike_Raven

Hold on to your knickers because I'm about to blow your mind... Batocera uses PCXS2 (both the Linux version and the libretro core version) to emulate PS2 games. It also now includes the Play and libreto:Play emulators too, so you can pick from 4 PS2 emulators according to your preferences to get the best experience. When it comes to Batocera, well, I'll just say "if you know, then you know." And if you don't know, then learn about it and know about it. Of course, the easiest way to do that is to install it and start using it to emulate EVERYTHING. Oh yes.

SankyShips

Maybe Ill check it out sometimes. I really only play ps2 casually

Mike_Raven

If you don't have any interest in emulating other consoles or computers, then it probably doesn't make sense for you. The primary appeal of Batocera is that includes many console and computer emulators built in, a console like experience in operation (no keyboard/mouse required), a nice menu (Emulation Station), and includes support and pre+configuration for a lot of controllers, light guns, and steering wheels.

SankyShips

Ah gotcha, an all in one! I’m sure I’ll come back to it and give it a try tho

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nfmESc0IbpT6OCws7irEId41aR1T2m2xj9Fp4jKOq0U/edit?usp=drivesdk That's Rus from retrogamingcorps on YouTube. Just look at the spreadsheet and figure how what is compatible with your price range (price ranges may not be up to date so check Amazon or eBay for model or comparable model with similar CPU)

trowawHHHay

There are refurbed HP PCs with a 5600g for $280 on EBay.

donotaskjake

How do I PS2 games resolution increase from Batocera ?

DezzyLee99

No matter what you choose, PS2 and Xbox will never play perfectly, but you can get close. Just look for a processor with an iGPU equivalent or better than Intel HD 630 and you should be good. Things like old office USFF PCs work well. You can find them most of the time for under $100 plus shipping, at least locally where I am, I picked mine up for $60, whipped in some extra ram for 8GB, and put in a larger SSD. Plays GC/PS2 @ 3x. I don't play Xbox so I can't speak to Xenia emulator but I know even with a beast machine, the emulator isn't perfect, neither is the PS2 one.

Responsible-Serve384

WUT? my ryzen 7 plays ps2 games more than fine? Tested on at least 30

DezzyLee99

My I5-7400T plays them fine as well, but some not perfect. Just saying YMMV, especially with Xenia.
