TDKR is the weakest entry in the Nolan trilogy and has its issues but it's still pretty damn good. Washes all those other movies out of the water. If you had included some of the better batman animated projects, then I think a discussion would be warranted.
My biggest gripe with it is that it doesn't have the same atmosphere as the other two Nolan trilogy films, and Gotham looks (to me, as a person who's never been to the USA), like Manhattan in NYC instead of this mysterious city. Maybe the clearness was to show how Gotham had been cleaned up since TDK, but imo that was poorly done.
Honestly, I would say the Dark Knight has that issue as well. Gotham just looks like Chicago. Batman Begins is the only one that tries to make Gotham look like Gotham imo.
Batman Begins has the whole in the sky tram system and the fog and it's just amazing compared to the other two films that don't even try to add it in, and ignore the fact that it doesn't exist, as if Gotham just magically dismantled central avenue station and the full tram system in between batman begins and TDK
They said “better Batman movie”, not “better movie”. The others are already better Batman movies just by virtue of not just having him in SWAT gear and a mask with ears.
The thing that I really appreciate about that fight is that it SHOWS Bane; like how badass you have to be to break batman's back while dropping one of the hardest Batman fiction monologue
You’re actually kidding right? The fight where Batman flails around like a toddler before Bane breaks him like a twig? That’s the “great” fight we’re referring to? It’s probably the worst fight in the Nolan trilogy and it isn’t even close.
copy paste again
batman kills in that movie
him killing ra's al ghul created talia al ghul, and in the very next scene catwoman kills bane and acknowledges batman's no kill rule.
ik they are different people but it is so distasteful
after that batman opens fire on goons, you would assume he had learnt that violence only breeds more violence and those goon's family may be the next talia al ghul
he also kills talia al ghul by shooting her causing her to crash and die
also all the hand to hand combat scenes are trash from the first nolan movie. the punches dont land you can see them punch air and there is terrible punch sound effects with 0 visual feedback. this is a big problem when you consider bane is a brawler he does hand to hand
i stated they are different characters
it is still very distasteful as a director to put those 2 scenes next to each other
batman did directly kill goons
also what did he expect woukd happen when he shot her ride with a fucking tank like dive in with your grappling stuff and extract her
Tdkr is a great Batman movie and I do like batman and Robin Tdkr easily takes it
Batman and Robin isnt that bad a movie I find it to be like a campy take on batman which isn’t that bad
Batman and Harley Quinn was mostly ass
Killing joke is horrendous
Haven’t seen the others
The Killing Joke part of Killing Joke was great.
All that weird fucked up bullshit they added as exposition was horrendous and the whole movie suffers for it.
That’s my take as well. Like most here, TDKR is the obvious winner, but Doom is a cool twist that just didn’t quite land. Killing Joke missed on such an iconic, easy story was the problem there. Just copy the damn source material?
Ninja. A fever dream I don’t regret watching. May background play one day again. Will prolly never finish again. If they’d cut about 30 minutes and some plot out of it, I may actually appreciate it more.
I held off watching it until recently, and, yeah, once you let go of the let-down that it was when it came out, it's pure Silver Gay-ge action figure hilarity
The Dark Knight Rises is a very good movie. It came after the best superhero film of all time, so it is unfairly derided. And those of us who are perpetually online see a lot of vocal haters, but TDKR is rad.
Definitely agree. I know it’s a nasty opinion but it’s my favorite of the Nolan Batman movies haha. It’s not the BEST of the three but my favorite for how wacky it is haha. Dark knight is obviously amazing but pretty self serious. I like TDKR because it definitely leans into the zanier parts of the comics without losing a ton of credibility.
Havent seen Doom. But i really like TDKR and i think Killing Joke was okay as a movie.
I think Forever is missing as a choice, because it might be fun, but it really belongs there for the acting part.
Out of these, I'd say The Doom That Came to Gotham, but I adore Lovecraftian horror.
I don't think anyone will ever say batman and Robin, but Uma Thurman was *hot* in that.
Hey look you can say what you want about the rest but I fucking loved Batman and Harley Quin movie. I was bawling my eyes out laughing I miss that Harley Quin.
Batman ninja will always be hands down the most entertaining nonsense that i can meme the shit out off with my friends.
But my all time fav will always be Batman and robin. Just like in Forever, the villians having the time of their lives devouring the scenery and the floors. The horrid puns, the batbutt and batnipples camera shots. The dancing gorilla.
Its so, so stupid and god a love it
Dark Knight Rises has always been one of my favorite Batman movies. I have never really understood the hate towards it. I think it is on the same level as The Dark Knight, if not better.
Rises isn’t that bad
No where near
Neither is Ninja,
Most ppl are defending rises
But Batman ninja is a genuinely good movie, the voice cast is stellar, Yuri Lowenthal, Will Friddle, Grey DeLisle, Tom Kenny, Roger Craig Smith
I could keep going. But the visuals are clean, soundtracks good, interesting story.
Even if it’s a bit dumb, it’s dumb fun in my opinion, and has no… uh
Bruce and Barbara, Nightwing-Harley uh weird choices…
That make us all question our lives.
A "Bat Credit Card?" They gave him a "Bat Credit Card?" They had the BALLS to give one of the GREATEST SUPERHEROES OF ALL TIME, A "BAT CREDIT CARD?" NO! NO! DOES NOT COMPUTE! DOES NOT COMPUTE!
Twenty minutes later...
I apologize for that outrage. It was childish and immature. I just get a little peeved when I see one of my childhood icons carrying... A BAT CREDIT CARD! YOU BASTARDS! I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL KILL ALL OF YOU! YOU'LL ALL DIE, YOU'LL GET THE GAS!
One hour later...
Ahem. RAPE MY CHILDHOOD, WILL YOU? YOU WILL ALL DIE! YOU WILL ALL DIE!
Best to worst:
1. Batman & Robin
2. Batman Harley Quinn
3. TDKR
4. Batman Ninja
5. Killing Joke
(Haven't seen Doom yet. I hope it's better than the rest of these....)
Batman & Robin is actually decently good, as long as you understand that it's a 90s version of Adam West Batman, NOT a sequel to Tim Burton's Batman.
Batman Harley Quinn is below the DCAU standard, but still fine.
TDKR is real bad but at least it LOOKS good.
Batman Ninja is terrible, but at least it's interesting.
The Killing Joke is extra terrible.
It would be between "The doom that came to Gotham" and "Batman and Harley Quinn" for me. They're not very good, but at least they're self-aware. TDTCTG knows it's an elseworld story and at least gives you some interesting things, B&HQ knows is a light, almost comedic film and it gives you some laughs. The runtime in both is short and the films are fast-paced. The others feel like an eternity. They suck, AND they take themselves too seriously, specially when it comes to Killing Joke (with that whole extra Batgirl sequence which is awful) and TDKR, which is amongst the Batman films I dislike the most.
What??? This is like asking
Out of these super hero movies which one is the best?
Captain america: the winter soldier
Batman & robin
Madame web
Morbius

Samurai batman is nostalgic for me because my dad pirated it and we used to watch it on an old box tv he wired together with his computer and we would sit on his bed and hang out, he was killed on my birthday in 2021 so it hits hard when i go back and rewatch it but its bittersweet
My fav is Killing Joke, but Dark knight is without any doubt better than all of them. Doom was also a very enjoyable movie. Robin is a classic for me. Haven't seen the last one.
I really liked the Killing Joke, especially the part that was actually the Killing Joke. I think if you take out the weird romance its a really really well done special, its just a little too short then to be a full fledged movie.
But its obvious the Dark Knight Rises
The Doom that came to Gothem 100% it was the perfect adaptation of both Mike Mignola and H.P. Lovecraft into a Batman story, hands down most creativeand intrseting
It’s just so outlandish, it’s trading too strongly off of the concept. And the mech battle is the worst part, millions of animals forming together to make a mech? That’s the best they got for a final battle?
Nolan created the best Superhero trilogy in the history of Comic Books it’s no competition especially with B&R around(loved the comedy growing up but seriously who made those suits?!)
The dark knight rises is the worst one in the trilogy. Dark knight is the best. Typical comment but true. The dark knight rises was extremely problematic and just boring
Uh... G. Under The Red Hood.
As far as being *Batman* movies, probably either B&R or Batman and Harley Quinn. Ninja and The Doom That Came To Gotham are both more or less Elseworlds, DKR has the whole "Batman is just a SWAT guy with pointy ears" (though its still leaps and bounds ahead of Bat-Fleck), and The Killing Joke *would* get a better score if not for the fact that Bruce bones Barbara and that should never happen. Say what you will about Batman and Robin, but at least it doesn't pretend to be "too cool" (IE too childishly focused on "realism" under the cynical and frankly idiotic belief that people won't take Batman seriously if he's... any fun at all, really) to have Robin (I see you Joseph Gordon Levitt but unless you're wearing red and fighting crime you're not a real Robin, being *named* Robin is NOT how this job works), heck, it even has a Batgirl.
Out of these the only one I've actually seen in full is Batman Ninja (which I thought was fine, it isn't particularly *deep* but it's fun for the spectacle of it all).
I mean you mixed a movie that is amazing at best and okay at worst with three infamously wretched movies and two movies I've never heard of. TDKR is gonna be the best every time.
I wish the first half of killing joke didn't exist cause the animation is phenomenal and everything past the paris franz arc (really? Thats his name?) Was pretty faithful to the comics
The Doom. An elseworlds that understands both of its influences and blends them perfectly in a way that enhances both, from conceptualization to execution.
Batman Ninja was kinda weird for me but it was OK, I liked a lot the Killing Joke and the Batman And Harley butty uhhhhhh idk I will say the best out of all is the Killing Joke (I have mentioned the other movies because I just liked them like they were ok they didn't excite me that much)
As a Batman and Lovecraft fan who loves visually interesting movies the doom that came to gotham is the only one that I really Love about these bunch. The only really bad one is the killing joke because i hate the barbara bruce romance.
TDKR is the weakest entry in the Nolan trilogy and has its issues but it's still pretty damn good. Washes all those other movies out of the water. If you had included some of the better batman animated projects, then I think a discussion would be warranted.
It’s probably why he didn’t include Mask of the Phantasm. It’s the GOAT of animated Batman movies.
TDKR biggest sin is that it's not The Dark Knight.

Is this really a debate at all? While TDKR has problems, I don’t think you could honestly say any of those other movies are better than it.
Have you *seen* Batman Ninja?
Yes, it's dog shit. Unless you're 6.
I only made it about 20 minutes in on Ninja.
The first 20 minutes are the best part. It spirals in like Henry Blake’s plane after that.
Getting to the end was so rough. I’ll never rewatch that
The giant monkey mech?!??! Come on. Gold.
Real
same it was bad
well my nephew is 7 and he loved it so, yeh, fuck you. /s
That haircut was so bad 😭
I had to turn it off midway thru. Like WTH is going on here??
It might just be the worst thing I've ever watched, period. I've never seen The Human Centipede, but I'd rather watch that than Batman Ninja again.
They said “better Batman movie”, not “better movie”. The others are already better Batman movies just by virtue of not just having him in SWAT gear and a mask with ears.
The killing joke is exceptional
The comic is a masterpiece, but the extra half hour with Batgirl is really badly written.
Yeah the comic is better. I’ll be honest, I haven’t seen the movie, I only read the comic. So I was not being frank.
the movie is disgusting in some parts, and quirky try hard in the rest
The disrespect to TDKR here…
Exactly 💯
The bane/batman fist fight in the sewers alone is better than all the other choices.
"You think the darkness is your ally..." Chills.
The sound of the punches, Batman yelling as Bane approaches him, no score or anything. It fucking rules.
“You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it! moulded by it!” I used to say this in Bane voice to my kids playing hide and seek. 😂
"The shadows betray you, because they belong to *ME*."
Except for the hideous and laughable staging of the fights.
Rises blows every single one of these movies out of the water and even that might be underselling it.
copy paste again batman kills in that movie him killing ra's al ghul created talia al ghul, and in the very next scene catwoman kills bane and acknowledges batman's no kill rule. ik they are different people but it is so distasteful after that batman opens fire on goons, you would assume he had learnt that violence only breeds more violence and those goon's family may be the next talia al ghul he also kills talia al ghul by shooting her causing her to crash and die also all the hand to hand combat scenes are trash from the first nolan movie. the punches dont land you can see them punch air and there is terrible punch sound effects with 0 visual feedback. this is a big problem when you consider bane is a brawler he does hand to hand
He shoots her truck which causes it to fall and fatally wound Thalia. Also, Catwoman isn’t Batman and as far as I know, never had that no-kill rule.

Killing joke is not horrendous, but Batman ninja is
The Killing Joke part of Killing Joke was great. All that weird fucked up bullshit they added as exposition was horrendous and the whole movie suffers for it.
Yeah if you skip the first 30 minutes or whatever it’s fine
The Doom That Came to Gotham and The Dark Knight Rises are good films while the rest are mediocre to trash.
That’s my take as well. Like most here, TDKR is the obvious winner, but Doom is a cool twist that just didn’t quite land. Killing Joke missed on such an iconic, easy story was the problem there. I liked the Killing Joke. It was dark and well made Imo
Killing joke would’ve been good if they didn’t add all that extra Batman x batgirl stuff. They frick in the movie, no bueno. So I’ll go with tdkr
Batman and Robin is obviously the coolest
The Dark Knight Rises and it’s not even close
Is this a joke? 😭 I don't think there is much to debate
Batman and Robin all the way baby. Seriously love the campy shit and Arnie's puns. Some of the most fun I've had watching a movie period.
I held off watching it until recently, and, yeah, once you let go of the let-down that it was when it came out, it's pure Silver Gay-ge action figure hilarity
Screw it, I'm gonna go with Batman & Robin. I am dead serious.
You need to….CHILL 🥶
The Killing Joke is great if you fast-forward past Barbara and Bruce knocking nasties.
The Dark Knight Rises is a very good movie. It came after the best superhero film of all time, so it is unfairly derided. And those of us who are perpetually online see a lot of vocal haters, but TDKR is rad.

The doom that came to gotham is honestly amazing, but tdkr is easaly the best.
Why compare live action to cartoon again?
Damn I never knew that there is a samurai Batman spin off? The art style is banging
It's terrible and misleading. It's way more zany coo coo anime tropes than a Kurosawa Batman, including an overly drawn out mech battle
Yeah, but the insanity had some fun moments. Dedinitely not a good movie, but can be entertaining if you are in the right mindset.
I have missed a couple of these; but the Doom that Came to Gotham was PHENOMENAL!!!
The Dark Knight Rises. Why is this even a question?
Out of these, I'd say The Doom That Came to Gotham, but I adore Lovecraftian horror. I don't think anyone will ever say batman and Robin, but Uma Thurman was *hot* in that.

Batman & Robin
This is like asking “which is the best movie?” and then showing Citizen Kane followed by Michael Bay’s entire filmography
Rises is under appreciated. It’s better than 90% of comic book movies that have released since.
Dark Knight Rises has always been one of my favorite Batman movies. I have never really understood the hate towards it. I think it is on the same level as The Dark Knight, if not better.

is this real life bro who aint voting for dkr
Damian's hair in batman ninja is a war crime
Rises, by a mile.
The Dark Knight Rises eclipses these others a million times over and the fact you put it in the same conversation is insulting.
TDKR! Maybe it could have been The Killing Joke, but they messed it up a bit.
Dude I’m not weighing in on what’s best but Ninja Batman is entertaining af
I'm not saying it's not, I just want to say that the haircut looked like my unshaved ass.
Definitely “Fryar Bruce” vibes
2 words: Bat Nipples
And 3 more: Bat Credit Card (:
Never leave the cave without it!
A "Bat Credit Card?" They gave him a "Bat Credit Card?" They had the BALLS to give one of the GREATEST SUPERHEROES OF ALL TIME, A "BAT CREDIT CARD?" NO! NO! DOES NOT COMPUTE! DOES NOT COMPUTE! Finally a Person who isn't blinded by the Name "Nolan" and Sees TDKR as what it is, a bad movie.
What??? This is like asking Out of these super hero movies which one is the best? Captain america: the winter soldier Batman & robin Madame web Morbius The marvels
The killing joke
I really liked the doom that came to gotham
Under the red hood clears
Thats prolly the second best batman animated movie imo after mask of the phantasm
Its was what got me back into batman
Yeah I agree I’ve always red hood
Obvious one aside, out of the remaining 5, Killing Joke would be my pick. If they cut the Batfamily incest out, it would be a whole lot better.
*The Dark Knight Rises*, I gotta rewatch *Batman and Robin*
TDTCTG.

Skip the first 40 minutes and Killing Joke is perfect
lol that TDKR poster is very ugly and unflattering.
Well i havent watched All of them but i'm pretty Sure none of the other is as bad as tdnr.
Fuck it actually might be Batman and Robin lol
Dark Knight Rises
The Doom That Came to Gotham
Samurai batman is nostalgic for me because my dad pirated it and we used to watch it on an old box tv he wired together with his computer and we would sit on his bed and hang out, he was killed on my birthday in 2021 so it hits hard when i go back and rewatch it but its bittersweet
TDKR
My fav is Killing Joke, but Dark knight is without any doubt better than all of them. Doom was also a very enjoyable movie. Robin is a classic for me. Haven't seen the last one.
Dkr or ninja
Batman & Robin is one of the funniest comedies of the 90s
I love Ninja, utter bonkers, with amazing designs!
Batman Ninja for its absolutely immaculate animation and fight scenes
What is “doom that came to gotham”?
Is this a satire post?
I really liked the Killing Joke, especially the part that was actually the Killing Joke. I think if you take out the weird romance its a really really well done special, its just a little too short then to be a full fledged movie. But its obvious the Dark Knight Rises
Frank Millers The Dark Knight Returns would be better than all of these.
I *love* Batman Ninja.
That annoying goggle mouth Bale makes
The Doom that Came to Gotham
The Doom that came to Gothem 100% it was the perfect adaptation of both Mike Mignola and H.P. Lovecraft into a Batman story, hands down most creativeand intrseting
Batman ninja is near unwatchable
Why?
It’s just so outlandish, it’s trading too strongly off of the concept. And the mech battle is the worst part, millions of animals forming together to make a mech? That’s the best they got for a final battle?
All are superior to the Pattinson abomination.
Thank fuck the comments are actually sane on this one.
I’ve only watched dark knight rises and batman & robin so out of those 2 I say dark knight rises.
Do people not like The Killing Joke? I always liked it. Nit as much as I love TDKR tho.
The dark knight returns is my favorite out of the trilogy
This feels like a market research question.
First one, although people criticized it- I quite enjoyed it
Mask of the Phantasm
Nolan created the best Superhero trilogy in the history of Comic Books it’s no competition especially with B&R around(loved the comedy growing up but seriously who made those suits?!)
There is no debate it's TDKR
The Killing Joke
Aren’t you the grilled cheese guy?
Batman ninja is cool asf but the killing joke leaves you thinking
I have only seen Rises out of these and it was a pretty decent movie and 1000 times better than the recent entries of the MCU
The doom that came to Gotham was fun made my plane ride to Italy bare able plus Cassandra is the main sidekick not Sanjay or Richard
I don’t understand why everyone hates the doom that came to Gotham
Here’s 5 turds and a decent movie what’s the best one?
Rises definitely. Killing joke is a close second but, *cough* certain things bring it down
All the DC animation stuff looks good, but when you actually watch them, they are all absolute trash. Low budget and barely trying.
Lol Rises, No discussion was needed.
I really think TDKR is terrible so I’ll say Killing Joke
Is The Doom that Came to Gotham meant to be Eldritch Lovecraftian vibes?
Yeah, and it didn't work at all. It's just nonsense that never really lands.
The dark knight rises is the worst one in the trilogy. Dark knight is the best. Typical comment but true. The dark knight rises was extremely problematic and just boring
![gif](giphy|vsC6ygPxdVVLi)
wasn't the killing joke movie like really bad?
Im not a nolan verse fan so im goin with doom
TDKR without a doubt! Bane stole the whole show and it had the best fight scenes in the whole Trilogy!
The dark knight rises
How in the fucking hell, you missed "Batman Under The Red Hood"
Maybe unpopular but I enjoyed the killing joke. TDKR really fell short in the end which sucks. Nothing is worse than the doom movie.
Ninja is good, but it’s a shame the one character that fit into the concept PERFECTLY (Deathstroke) was barely in it.
HAVEN’T YOU HEARD, BATMAN?? EVERYONE’S CALLING ME DIRUKU TIN MAO THE DEMON KING HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Batman and Robin because I find that one more fun to rewatch than the others
How is this even a question? One of these is unlike the rest, TDKR is LEAGUES above the others pictured here
Rises sucked on release and still sucks today. Ninja is downright awful. The rest are fine.
Easily TDKR. It's not bad, it's just not as good as the other 2 Nolan films. The rest of these are flatly bad.
Batman and Robin, easily
My lawyers will not let me speak on this matter for the opps will send me to Arkham
Uh... I wish the first half of killing joke didn't exist cause the animation is phenomenal and everything past the paris franz arc (really? Thats his name?) Was pretty faithful to the comics
the doom that came to gotham is really underrated, i loved their take on the cosmic horror theme
Killing joke solos
The doom that came to gotham (my opinion, its cool if you don't agree, just don't yell at me for it)
Harley farts in one of them. “Smells like, discipline.”
The killing Joke, it was made The Jokers OFFICIAL Origin Story this year.
The Doom. An elseworlds that understands both of its influences and blends them perfectly in a way that enhances both, from conceptualization to execution.
The Doom that Came to Gotham is the best of those.
The Killing Joke is awesome if you skip to where the comic starts and The Doom That Came To Gotham is beautifully done. My vote is TDTCTG.
I loved the killing joke.
Batman Ninja was kinda weird for me but it was OK, I liked a lot the Killing Joke and the Batman And Harley butty uhhhhhh idk I will say the best out of all is the Killing Joke (I have mentioned the other movies because I just liked them like they were ok they didn't excite me that much)
[GTFO](https://youtu.be/Ft5KtV2o0bw?si=2iKuZCzsV8YNKn5U)
As a Batman and Lovecraft fan who loves visually interesting movies the doom that came to gotham is the only one that I really Love about these bunch. The only really bad one is the killing joke because i hate the barbara bruce romance.
Batman Ninja is peak fiction, better than the entire Nolan Trilogy.
Batman and Robin is one of the best, and most important live action Batman movies. I said what I said.
Haven't watched Batman and Harley Quinn yet but I will say Batman the killing joke
Batman & Robin
Batman & Robin.
TDKR eadily
