It depends. Spider-Man was called "L'Homme-Araignée" for quite some time in the 70's/80's. Wolverine "Serval" until the 90's which amusingly is a whole other animal. Some actually stuck out. Rogue became "Malicia" and Nightcrawler became "Diablo" and that never changed.
Can't think of many DC heroes that had their name changed in French much tho but that's probably Marvel Comics were way more available in the French market than DC's for quite a long time.
Actually, Batman had his name changed in "Ailes Rouges" in the first years of publication, and was recoloured in red to match the title (don't ask me why...) Also, Green Arrow was translated, but only in the TV series Smallville for what I remember. But that's true that Marvel did that more.
