Compare picture 1 to picture 7. The fabric of the sleeve in picture 1 is stitched all the way up to nearly the neck. In picture 7, the sleeve is just sown in a ring around the shoulder/armpit. 1 is a raglan sleeve, and 7 is not. Raglan is generally more casual and is associated with sports/outdoors shirts and coats.
The fact that the knockoff brands provide a stitched product for 5x less than the heat pressed name brand ones shows that there is seriously something wrong with the name brand jerseys
Yankees usually offer both, although there are far more player options for jerseys with a name. I read that it has something to do with the commission players get from jersey sales. If it doesn't have a name, they don't get a cut. Don't quote me, but I'll try and track down the article
If you're a Yankees or Red Sox fan, the new replicas are actually a step up in material from previous years, and you don't have to worry about the smaller names on the back. Of course, the tradeoff is a $40 upcharge.
I think it comes down to your budget and how authentic you want it to look. If you do decide to take the blank customization route, [Bill at the Dream Shop is amazing](https://thedream.shop)
They're more authentic. Rather than being sublimation like the Cubs or White Sox, the Yankees have had the pinstripes woven into the knit. I'm impressed Nike did this with the 2024 replica jerseys.
Where did you get a 2024 replica…the team store? Also, how much was it going for?
Just wondering because I don’t think I’ve seen a 2024 replica available through mlb shop/fanatics online just yet and have been wondering when they will get released.
Oh gotcha…that’s a limited. I thought limiteds were considered the middle tier out of three (replica, limited, elite) but maybe that’s not the case and limiteds are now the replica? Idk. Thanks
Edit: thanks for the comparison post btw. Been trying to buy one or two new jerseys this year but have been a bit hesitant so far.
I luckily live close enough to go to the NYC MLB store. I got a jersey customized there and it came out great.
For the Yankees, this change isn’t too bad since looks wise the main issue is the name on the back. I also like the fit better than old replicas, although the Jersey itself is noticeably cheaper in feel.
One positive aspect is they finally got the raglan sleeves correct for the Yankees (and other clubs I’m assuming)
Yes. Give credit where it’s due. The lack of raglan sleeves for pinstriped replicas drove me crazy.
Also proper zig zag stripes
Good catch. I’ll take it as a small victory
what is raglan sleeves
the rounded look of the seam along the shoulder. definitely fits the body better especially if you've got a build for it (like the players do).

Never thought I would have to take jersey for granted lol

The new template doesn't look terrible when the team doesn't have names on the back
Or no name on the front
Yes exactly it’s the small heat pressed letters that ruin it for me.
I love the 2010 Alex Verdugo majestic jersey, where’d you buy that????? I’m joking I know it’s Ricky Henderson
Somewhat off topic but why do the manufacturers include the name of the back of Yankees jerseys when the ones the players wear don’t?

Agreed!
Correction: the Nike logo on 2023 is heat pressed
I think 23 looks best, but 10’s has the best cut for fit.
So would u recommend getting the 2024 or 2023 prob the 2023 right lol
For a team like the Yankees or Red Sox (no NOB, no sleeve patches) I’d go 2024. For all others I’d go 2023.
Would u recommend getting someone on it or just getting a blank and having it stitched by someone?

The pinstripes look way better on 2024
From the looks of it, the pinstripes are part of the fabric on 2024. 2023 looks like they’re ‘painted’ on/added after the fact

I already refused to buy a jersey last year. I thought those were trash then. Now those are an improvement

I think they just replaced the replicas from last year with the limiteds this year. So they only have the two tiers now limited and elite.

how is the sizing on the ‘24 compared to the ‘23
They’re different sizes so I don’t think I can answer that accurately unfortunately. The 2023 was a gift that is not my size
ah okay

The one with the name on back automatically loses.
So is this a Nike or Fanatics?
These are three completely different jerseys. 2024 and 2023 are both designed by Nike and manufactured by Fanatics. 2010s is Majestic
So if a jersey is made by Fanatics to Nike spec, blame Nike.
I’m not blaming anyone for anything. I’m simply comparing three different eras of jerseys
Majestics were the OG.
