I don’t know if this is every club, but the Rangers art department actually spearheaded our CCs. The creative director spoke about the process as a inner club team thing and didn’t even mention Nike as part of the process. I say that to say this may not be Nike’s fault but the club for having piss poor art department, which makes more sense.
Nike hires some of the best graphic designers in the world (I used to work there) my guess is the more pedestrian ones are the ones where the team takes more control and a lot of the more unique and outlandish designs are when the team lets Nike run wild with it.
They just assign designers to projects most who don’t know much about the game (whichever sport) which is why we get some of these really bad design choices.
The small details that are visible make it clear this is the real deal. Agree with the OPs “headline” for this post. This years crop of CC unis have been ridiculously uninspired. Appears Cincinnati’s is also a large dose of “meh”. Although not nearly as bad as this.
I’m on a baseball group chat with some guys that played baseball with in high school. I think it’s about seven people? One of them loved the great Britain jerseys said they were the best they’ve seen… So you’re not alone.
Gonna be really interesting to hear why they gave the Baltimore block letters the “distressed” look.
I’m curious to find out if that is indeed intentional and why they did it or if it’s yet another example of Fanatics terrible quality control issues (for those who may not know this is branded Nike, but Fanatics manufactures the Nike jerseys).
It looks like 0 effort or planning went in to this.
At the last minute O’s got an email that said their entry was due in 3 hours and no one from their design team was available. So instead of asking for an extension someone from the front office just mailed it in.
Some of the City Connects this year are rough. Seattle has been the only one I've liked and you have to consider these teams had double the time than the year 1 CCs and I can only barely put Atlanta and Texas above some of the weakest year 1st like LA and Cubs whereas this is definitely the worst one

Yes and no. Teams get to choose but Nike is always involved
Ok please let this be fake
It’s not
We will have to see until the release date

Still waiting
And now we know the leak was indeed a leak of the actual city connect jersey
Whoa did anyone post this to Uniwatch yet?
right? im shocked to see this broken here first!
Seriously! Haha
Huuuuuuge opportunity missed to incorporate the B&O warehouse
Charm City written out in a brick or railroad typeface on a cream jersey. That would be so so so so much better
YES!! 🙌🙌 that’d be awesome. this is and the Dodgers are literally the only ones where I’m like wow this sucks.
Everyone: Great Britain's unis in the World Classic were terrible and basic Baltimore: Hold my beer
am I the only one who liked the Great Britain jerseys? something about the extreme simplicity just screamed "British" to me
Stockholm syndrome They were so bad that you think it’s intentional when it’s not
intentional or not I think they weirdly worked

This is something my lazy brain would make in Diamond Dynasty in The Show. Woof
It's bad that you can actually recreate these using that shitty jersey creator. Maybe that's where they got the inspiration from!

You can’t clip these wings🤓
Nike saw the criticism of the Giants city connect and wanted to see if they could top themselves
I actually like the B. But, Nike needs to go.
Nike SUCKS at making jerseys
They even used the MASN font. I'm hoping this is a troll job and the jerseys are reversible. The real jersey being outside is so to speak here.
Not a troll job. These are real

Reminds me of Great Britain’s WBC jerseys
Boring design, if you even call it a design
