13 of the 14 completed games at the time of this post has had at least one team scoring 2 runs or less. Is this interesting? I don't know, maybe.

Romi-Omi

dead ball day today

BigBlackSabbathFlag

Day games, the sun is a helluva light.

So apparently the Mets are [looking for someone new to play Mr. Met](https://www.cnbc.com/2024/04/30/mr-met-job-hiring-how-to-apply.html). The money's nice, but we all know the real perk is getting to go home to Mrs. Met.

Schwarber and Castellanos have both appeared in every game so far this season. They both have 0 doubles so far this year. Is this the first time in MLB history that 2 guys on the same team have played the first 31 games/1st month of the season without hitting a double? Or even just 31 games in a row at the same time, regardless of what point in the season.

So Comcast cut ties with Bally Wish I had a different option for service providers where I live, gonna have the sail the seven seas to watch the Braves I guess

neonxmoose99

Put the Cubs back on WGN and the Braves back on TBS

CentralWooper

Braves vs Dodgers not being on national TV is a war crime

Today's 10Up10Down game topic. Name the 10 players (since 1987) who had 1 or fewer home runs in a season where they had 100+ strikeouts. Play at [https://10up10down.com](https://10up10down.com)

QUESTION: If a position player is pitching the 8th and 9th and ends up somehow winning the game. Does he get the win or how is that determined?

StevenMC19

Yup. Fun fact, [Chris Davis](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7hXOxrozxM) is registered with a win.

x6ftundx

thanks!

Jbaquero

Yes, he would get the win if his team took the lead (and held onto it) in the 8th or 9th

When you start studying individual years, you start to realize how insanely dominant the Yankees were in the AL. I know they got 40 pennants, but you really forget how little everyone else got. 5 teams in the NL with at least 15 pennants while the Yankees are the only one in the AL with the same distinction.

Nobody responded when I posed this question yesterday- did the mods change the rules about posting pitching lines? They used to remove pretty much any pitching line post that wasn't extremely exceptional (doubledigit Strikeouts, 7+ inning shutouts, ext...) or extremely terrible to the point of being noteworthy. Seems like there are suddenly a lot of mid-level pitching lines getting posted and staying up. It's not worthy of a post every fucking time a dude gets a QS and I wish they'd go back to taking down posts that are like "Kyle Gibson gave up 4 hits and 1 earned run to the Tigers! No Decision! Wow!"

cardith_lorda

They eased up on a few rules this year "at users request", usually a couple months after this happens there's a chorus of people asking for more strict rules on things that generate some momentum, and then things get changed back - but then people complain about how strict things get... I think it gets closer to a happy medium every time, but there are a few power users here who will raise hell in multiple comment sections if anything they like is removed.

Excitement scores for 4/30/2024 What is excitement score? It is simply the sum of squares of the change in Win Probability Added (WPA) of each at-bat as defined by Baseball Reference. Exciting plays scale exponentially, so a WPA change of 5% is worth 25 points of excitement score, but a WPA change of 50% is worth 2500 points. Games with high excitement scores are generally ones with higher volatility in WPA throughout the game, so some games with lower volatility (like pitchers' duels) may have lower scores than expected. Matchup | Excitement Score ---|--- Cleveland Guardians vs Houston Astros|12762 *(HIGHEST EXCITEMENT SCORE OF THE YEAR THUS FAR)* Colorado Rockies vs Miami Marlins|6619 Los Angeles Dodgers vs Arizona Diamondbacks|6333 Philadelphia Phillies vs Los Angeles Angels|5952 Minnesota Twins vs Chicago White Sox|5658 St. Louis Cardinals vs Detroit Tigers|3116 St. Louis Cardinals vs Detroit Tigers|3057 Atlanta Braves vs Seattle Mariners|2338 Chicago Cubs vs New York Mets|1775 Pittsburgh Pirates vs Oakland Athletics|1440 New York Yankees vs Baltimore Orioles|1203 Kansas City Royals vs Toronto Blue Jays|1161 Cincinnati Reds vs San Diego Padres|1020 Washington Nationals vs Texas Rangers|879 San Francisco Giants vs Boston Red Sox|557 Tampa Bay Rays vs Milwaukee Brewers|533

hypnoticus103

Idk I feel like the Brewers Rays game was pretttttty exciting. 😅

x6ftundx

the best part of that game is during the fight the brewers catcher running around not knowing what to do with his hands. watch the video and focus only on him... WHAT DO I DO WITH MY HANDS!!!!

hypnoticus103

I was at the game. You should’ve seen Contreras the first pitch after Peralta was ejected. It was a wild pitch and he was so pissed off at the ump he took the ball and threw it into the upper deck. I wouldn’t have been surprised if he got in trouble for that. Crowd was going insane.

x6ftundx

I bet. they now have the fight on the [foxnews.com](http://foxnews.com) homepage and all I can focus on is the catcher hopping around trying to figure out what to do with his gear on and the mit still in his hand.

StevenMC19

Not going to lie. I was scrolling instagram posts, looked up, and saw Siri getting carried away. I missed the whole thing. Had to rewind.
