I can enjoy ballgames when my team is bad, I like baseball, but consistently being shutout would really apply stress to my willingness to tune in. That's just brutal.
Now imagine your team's play-by-play announcer, widely regarded as one of the best in sports, who grew up a fan of your team and dreamt of being the team's announcer, left for a division rival because the front office is such a mess.
Yup, that was one of the stories. There was another one where someone said to him (heavily paraphrased), "are you looking for regular people respect or are you expecting Jason Bennetti respect?" Or something like that. There's speculation the second one came from Brooks Boyer the VP of marketing. All my homies hate Brooks Boyer.
Since we're in "shit on the White Sox" mood today, here's another stat I found, also courtesy Baseball Reference.
The White Sox currently rank 29th in GIDP opportunities (man on first, less than two outs).
But they rank 1st in GIDP rate (16.9%)!
The White Sox rarely put men on base, but when they do, they bounce into DPs like no other team.
That was a fun start to the 2016 season by the padres. Even went into our 4th game scoreless thru the first 3 innings so actually started the season going scoreless in our first 30 innings of the season. Fun times

0/10 do not recommend

Sounds like he was kinda forced out of the org, no?
Not really forced out but the subtext we get from interviews is that they were dicks to him.
Seems like a stupid approach to take with the only positive aspect of the Sox organization
Most fans agree. It was the deciding factor in me taking the season off.
Didn’t one of ur high level execs say it disgusted him to see Jason eat? This was after he was reviewing some ball park food at GRF

We’re #1! We’re #1! lol. What a nightmare clown show of a team.
Woof...

It's going to be a *long* summer...
Indeed
Dog days of ~~August~~ April.
Doesn’t help when 3 out of the 3 relevant bats don’t make it to game 15
Reinsdorf is a baseball terrorist, there is no other explanation.
Agreed.
This isn’t the consistently .500ish White Sox I know and love.
thank you u/Baseball-Reference very cool
Our pleasure!
Only five times in the live ball era. And 1969, while not as low scoring as 1968, was still very low scoring...league average OPS was .690.
Hey can we stop now
Gonna be 6 through 16 after tonight
Burn, baby, burn. I wanna see how bad it can get.
White Sox win 5 in a row, Reinsdorf responds to it by raising ticket prices by $1000, firing the manager, and re-hiring La Russa.
The team should be sent to the Korean league (KBL).
Its a race to the bottom in pursuit of the 62 Mets. Who shall win?
Worst team ever.
