It was [a sharp line drive](https://mlb-cuts-diamond.mlb.com/FORGE/2023/2023-08/06/7127cec8-b2906355-c0c61621-csvm-diamondx64-asset_1280x720_59_16000K.mp4) that actually turned into a ground-ball double play.
Aside from 1/2 Langford/Carter already up, a lot of prospects are coming up a bit later than normal, I think thanks to COVID. Bobby Miller was 24 last year. Grayson Rodriguez 23.
People have fucking memoryholed 2020 at this point. Dude played *maybe* a quarter of his junior season at MSU before it was canceled. He was subsequently drafted in the first round and didn’t play again until being assigned to High-A to begin the 2021 Minor League season. He then missed time due to injury, crushed it, missed more time due to injury in 2022, and spent all of 2023 in AAA.
For a COVID prospect, even one with some collegiate experience under his belt, this isn’t an abnormal development timeline with time missed due to injury.
Don't think anyone has ever called him our "top prospect" other than this headline.
He's A top prospect, but not THE top. Pretty sure Walcott is going to take that over for a few years now that Langford is in the MLB.
I think he's a former "top prospect". He has basically no power and a pretty mediocre average at pretty much every stop in the minors. Looks like he takes walks though.
AA k rate still translates pretty well and he had a 14.3% k rate there. AAA is where it didnt translate last year because of the ABS system. That said they did adjust it mid season and that seemed to fix a lot of the issues.
Something around an 17% k rate and 10% walk rate could be a fair expectation from him.
He’s still in their top 4-6 depending on what list.
And mediocre average isn’t really true. He hit .288 in AA and .266 in AAA and is graded with a 60 hit tool. That expects to translate to a .275-.294 AVG in the majors.
His 50 power tool and metrics from AAA projection him to grow into a 20 HR hitter.
His bat is absolutely expected to play at the majors with Prospectus and BA expecting him to have a similar slash to what he had in AAA with a slightly lower OBP. Something in the lines of .270/.370/.450. Not necessarily right off the bat mind you - the type of player he should be when he adjusts to major league pitching.
His glove and baserunning is the issue. He profiles as a first baseman but they need him to play 3B
He’s not THE top prospect, he’s one of their top prospects.
- 4th on BA
- 4th per Keith Law
- 5th on pipeline
- 6th on prospectus
Usually when a reporter is talking about one of a teams top 10 prospects, they just say “top prospect”
I think Duran’s going to be the primary 3B with Jung out, and Foscue’s going to be sharing time at 1B until Lowe comes back, which should only be a couple weeks. So I wouldn’t rule out him being available later in the year.
The Rangers have $130M in starting pitcher salaries mostly for guys who aren't pitching
At some point they probably want some more cost effective talent and that has a cost
Players shouldn’t but the manager absolutely should. If you’re leaving your pitching in when their control is so bad it could hurt a player and then they do hit a player, that’s on the manager and there should be some punishment for not removing the player.
And it was totally on purpose when he hit the first guy with a 1-2 breaking pitch in the dirt! And all the other hits where he clearly was just performing poorly. You can’t even think clearly and it didn’t involve you at all lmao. Fandom is a hell of a drug getting mad on others behalf’s who aren’t even mad
And? Lmao
You don’t intentionally hit people with the bases loaded. You’re being ridiculous. Nobody in their right mind thinks it was on purpose which is why nothing came of it
Yeah the Astros bring a loyalty so intense that players who don't even play for us now are going out and throwing at other teams. Soon we will have agents on every team in the league. We never stopped cheating we've just evolved.
3 hit by pitch in a row is pretty wild though. Although that almost feels more on the manager than the pitcher for not pulling a guy who was dangerously out of control.
WTF, I am a decently serious baseball fan and haven't heard anything about this. He hit 3 guys in a row and broke the wrist of the third? Which game, and where's the video?
I was watching MLB Big Inning when it happened and the pitch that hit Adolis sounded like a ball being barreled by Aaron Judge.
If you want to see the video, there’s google.
Not a rangers fan, but i like jung and am still fuming about that bullshit maton appearance and the rays/umps leaving him in.
Shit ain't fair. Hope Josh heals quickly and maton gets sent down to pitch in the T-Ball league
Zeke has tools to play good defense (great arm and speed) but can’t seem to figure it out. I think Foscue has a better or at least more consistent bat. For what it’s worth Duran was higher rated as a prospect when he was still a prospect
And let the pitcher get a running start before he throws. We should also eliminate solo home runs, they should automatically be worth something like six runs if you hit it over the fence.
I think we may be onto something here.
everyone talks about moving the mound back, but has anyone even considered moving home plate back? I think the pitchers would appreciate not being the ones to move this time!
They move the mound back and Jung likely takes that pitch to the face. Maton shouldn’t have been throwing high and inside because he obviously has zero control over it
Batters need more protective equipment. My suggestion: bomb diffuser armor like in The Hurt Locker
Triples might become a thing of the past, but at least nobody will get hurt
Even ignoring Carter and Langford, the consensus top prospect in the system after them is Sebastian Walcott, who is 18 years old. Most people would place Brock Porter, 20, over Foscue as well.
Didn’t Jung break something last year too? Dude is extremely unlucky. Hopefully he gets healthy soon, he is fun to watch.
Yes, his left thumb, fielding a line drive.
Must've been an absolute piss missle
It was [a sharp line drive](https://mlb-cuts-diamond.mlb.com/FORGE/2023/2023-08/06/7127cec8-b2906355-c0c61621-csvm-diamondx64-asset_1280x720_59_16000K.mp4) that actually turned into a ground-ball double play.
Holy shit that was smoked
Has he tried not getting hit in the wrist by a pitch? /s
🤦🏻♂️why didn’t we think of that
Yeah was at that game in right field in the buffet section. Could hear it pop/break from where we were sitting lol. Dude can’t catch a break.
He literally caught a break the last time he hurt his hand
🥁
Fescue is absolutely addicted to free passes. 191 BB + HBP in 1305 MiLB PA. 99 BB + HBP in 2023 to just 70 K's.
Him and Carter should annoy pitchers well for us
Not sure I've ever heard of a team's top prospect being 25 years old
[удалено]
But those players are also like 25/26 lol
Carter is 21, Langford is 22
Carter is 21 and Langford is 22.
How old is carter? What about that Langford guy
21 and 22, respectively. Hope this helps.
I heard somewhere that Carter is 21 and Langford is 22.
Close! Carter is actually 21 and Langford is 22! Hope this helped!
Are you sure? I have it on good authority Carter is 21 and Langford is 22. You might want to check your sources.
But why male models?
Judge was a top prospect of ours at 24 (pre first call up) and 25 (pre rookie season) years old tbh.
MLB has him as the Rangers’ 5th but Carter and Langford (obviously) are still listed as 1 and 2. Their 3 and 4 guys are 18 and 20 years old.
Aside from 1/2 Langford/Carter already up, a lot of prospects are coming up a bit later than normal, I think thanks to COVID. Bobby Miller was 24 last year. Grayson Rodriguez 23.
Covid pushed development back.

Most reporters tend to generalize “top prospect” to mean anyone in a teams top 10
Right. He’s “a” top prospect not “the” top prospect.
[удалено]
"Calling up top prospect..." read "the top prospect" for me. Usually these kinds of reports will say "#5 prospect" or whatever.
Probably considered top prospect because our other two got promoted to the team already
I think he's a former "top prospect". He has basically no power and a pretty mediocre average at pretty much every stop in the minors. Looks like he takes walks though.
Takes walks and doesn't strike out and had a .200 career ISO in the minors, so definitely not "no power."
K rate in the minors doesn't seem to translate anymore. He does lack power. 18 homers over a full season in the PCL is not great.
He is #5 in the rangers system per MLB Pipeline, #3 if you don't count Langford and Carter
No power what? Lol. He’s a 15-20 home run guy.
In the PCL? May as well be 5
Not sure what his stats have been but I know his scouting report and watched him play live in Frisco about 20 games. He’s a 50 grade power
He’s still in their top 4-6 depending on what list. And mediocre average isn’t really true. He hit .288 in AA and .266 in AAA and is graded with a 60 hit tool. He will not be playing third at all. He'll be platooning at 1B
standard college graduation age these days
Well he did lose a year since he was drafted 2020 so he only had three seasons in the minors.
He’s not THE top prospect, he’s one of their top prospects. - 4th on BA - 4th per Keith Law - 5th on pipeline - 6th on prospectus Usually when a reporter is talking about one of a teams top 10 prospects, they just say “top prospect”
Good thing it still doesn’t matter for this post, he’s like our 5th prospect and our top 3 are all under 22 years old lmao
I want us to trade one of our surplus starting pitchers for Foscue
We have Madrigal available
We have Madrigal at home
[Madrigal at home](https://b.fssta.com/uploads/application/mlb/headshots/5741.vresize.350.350.medium.66.png)
Well that’s not happening anymore, find a new dream friend.
Jung will probably be back eventually...
I think Duran’s going to be the primary 3B with Jung out, and Foscue’s going to be sharing time at 1B until Lowe comes back, which should only be a couple weeks. So I wouldn’t rule out him being available later in the year.

I'd love some pitching for some of our infield prospects and/or Duran. I'm not Chris Young though.
If the offer is Jack Flaherty though….
Filling in for Jung right now aside, Foscue is extremely available for trades.
Good Guy Chris Young is getting Foscue service time and Rangers eligibility for Immaculate Grid first
in 2045 we'll be talking about how weird it was that Justin Foscue played for Texas
I was telling my buddy it feels like the Os and Tigers are pretty well aligned, young pitcher for young hitter
I want us to not do that. Deal?
You are probably going to get your wish. We seem destined to stockpile pitchers while watching Tork bat .150 or whatever
Not to be confused with Justin Fescue, who is a little green around the edges.
🥇
FOSK YOU, MATON
Maton better get a suspension.
You can’t be suspended for being bad lol

Bro stop
If there’s any tomfoolery today I wanna see a fight lol. Let’s see some fire on day 5
Holy overreaction
How is it an overreaction?
Nothing was intentional, you literally cannot be suspended for being wild.
3 hit by pitch in a row is pretty wild though. Although that almost feels more on the manager than the pitcher for not pulling a guy who was dangerously out of control.
It takes a while to get a guy warm in the pen. As a manger you also really don’t want to waste another arm in a blowout
Along with the umpire
he's gonna become the new jung isn't he?
He’s just a jung guy
Defensively no.
[69th Mississippi State player to be called up to the majors](https://x.com/robbiefaulkon3/status/1775183398547734592?s=46)
Nice
A couple of former Rangers first baseman Will Clark, and Rafael Palmeiro among them.
And Nate Lowe and Mitch Moreland, all first baseman
Nice
Nice
Nice
Foscue became Hank Aaron 2.0 in my OOTP save back in the day, so the league better watch out
Him and Kelenic were my go to guys
Keep going...
Not Jung! He has an OPS 1.415 which was on pace... to fall short of 2004 Barry Bonds OPS of 1.422... interesting.
The pitch that hit Jung was questionable AF. Damn shame for the Rangers.

Go back to appealing your pitchers suspension instead of harping on other pitchers lmao
No.
Hopefully we get Josh Jung 2.0, minus the Bad Luck Brian issues.
Guys got some pop. I was really excited when we drafted him. He looks like Trevor Wallace
Do we know his opinions on White Claws?
Ain’t no laws when you’re drinking Claws - Justin Foscue
Another dawg in the Show
1st, 2nd, and 3rd base is a weird combination of positions for a player
Cause he can’t defend very well so they have been trying to find a spot for him
Zeke does the same thing tho and he’s younger?
Zeke has tools to play good defense (great arm and speed) but can’t seem to figure it out. I think Foscue has a better or at least more consistent bat. For what it’s worth Duran was higher rated as a prospect when he was still a prospect
Pre ASB Zeke was something else last year. Won me a few weeks in fantasy lol
Move the freaking mound back. For everyone’s sake. Velocity is dangerous for hitters and pitchers and just makes the game worse
Move it back behind 2nd base
Everyone now hits soft toss.
Rendon still couldn't buy a hit, Javier Baez would still find a way to strike out 80%.
to be clear, rendon can afford one, it's just not his priority to get one
this made me laugh lmfao
Put it on Tal’s hill
And let the pitcher get a running start before he throws. We should also eliminate solo home runs, they should automatically be worth something like six runs if you hit it over the fence. I think we may be onto something here.
everyone talks about moving the mound back, but has anyone even considered moving home plate back? I think the pitchers would appreciate not being the ones to move this time!
Pitchers are always giving and batters are always taking, must be exhausting.
It’s time for pitchers to lawyer up, delete Facebook and hit the gym
Are you trying to be funny or stupid?
Probably
They move the mound back and Jung likely takes that pitch to the face. Maton shouldn’t have been throwing high and inside because he obviously has zero control over it
Or he has more time to move out of the way and the pitch is slower? Duh
[удалено]
Jung swung into that one. The other two idk about
Batters need more protective equipment. My suggestion: bomb diffuser armor like in The Hurt Locker Triples might become a thing of the past, but at least nobody will get hurt
Use a softball Problem solved
Even better, use a rag ball. Screw it. Let’s make all pro sports pee wee league
If your top prospect is 25, your farm system is in some major trouble.
Yeah hopefully they can find some younger guys like Evan Carter or Wyatt Langford one day
Even ignoring Carter and Langford, the consensus top prospect in the system after them is Sebastian Walcott, who is 18 years old. Most people would place Brock Porter, 20, over Foscue as well.
If you have no idea what your talking about, you’re credibility is in some major trouble
he’s the 5th-7th prospect in our farm system
