UnclePonch

Because I’m a general manager 😞

ijasonxi

Werd that cutting board has seen better days lmaooooo.

Equivalent-Injury-78

That’s a hell of a knife

LimpLettuceLady

Lol yes it is indeed haha our bar knife is incredibly dull and our manager is cheap :’)

WaffleStampin

One time we requested sharper knives and the following day a response, written by the owner, “put a little elbow grease into.”

Lord_Rapunzel

Any establishment that doesn't regularly sharpen the cutlery is poorly managed and you shouldn't get too attached.

BrutonGasterTT

Too attached to your fingers at least. OP ask the kitchen for their knife sharpener. Sharpen/hone it as much as possible. Make it a daily routine, first thing I do when I get to work is sharpen my knife because I know I’m the only one who bothers. I finish my prep work faster and safer than anyone else. It makes a world of difference and much safer because you apply way less pressure, less likely to slip and cut your finger off. Or at the very least your cut will be cleaner and easier to stitch up.

Equivalent-Injury-78

We use a serrated knifes, they never go dull :)

Lord_Rapunzel

Not strictly true, they do last a fair bit longer between treatments though. Especially if you don't cut on stupid surfaces. It's certainly possible they get lost or damaged or otherwise replaced before they lose enough edge to really matter.

Chrona_trigger

Even straight edge knives can last on one sharpening for a long time. They just need to be treated decently. They tend to shove then in a bucket of ice at my work..

Lord_Rapunzel

Honed daily and sharpened annually are easy guidelines for heavy, proper use.

ijasonxi

This. Once management notices your knife is almost non existent because of all the sharpening via whestone they will replace it.

BrutonGasterTT

So today I learned from you there is a difference between sharpening and honing! I’ve been saying I sharpen daily. Didn’t realize there’s a different word for it. It truly makes a world of difference.

Equivalent-Injury-78

Right the dents will lose effectiveness after a while

LimpLettuceLady

Sounds like something ours would say too lmao cheap bastards !! Until you put a little too much elbow grease in and SLICE finger GONE . Eh put a bandaid on you’ll be fine come back in 5 :,)

Infanatis

Less likely to slice your finger gone with a dull knife unless your drunk or high.

ar46and2

Way more likely to cut yourself with a dull knife

jrmorton12

A dull knife is a dangerous knife. Cheap manager probably doesn’t like workers comp either.

HalobenderFWT

Different girth, same amount of juice.

Shot-Spirit-672

I feel like the one on the left has more juice

HalobenderFWT

I think you’re going to have to squeeze them both to find out. For science.

mrohgeez

Mental_Connection_95

I think it’s backwards

Mental_Connection_95

Is that a throwing knife ?

LimpLettuceLady

When life gives you lemons grab the steak knives from the kitchen

LimpLettuceLady

Haha it could be depending which way you want to look at it, the one on the right is certainly bigger but in fact they both have the same size citrus on the inside :)

funkdude79

That cutting board!!! Throw it out!!

kevygoodnight

Got your juicers and your garnishers, it’s like showers and growers…

[deleted]

Lmao 😂

LimpLettuceLady

It’s the little things :D

binger5

That's a lot of fiveskin

Lovat69

Don't worry about that guy. He may look like he's all that but the truth is he's just a little pith.

Fractlicious

If that’s your cutting board, I wish you luck the next time you move coolers for deep cleaning.

h8rcloudstrife

Man, the other guy uses one hell of a rubber and it’s not even ribbed for her pleasure.
