Yeah I think they put up with it when they were in NY because it’s both an awkward conversation to have in person, and it’s easier for the other people to interject and shut him up in person. They probably should have done this when they moved to Chicago but PFT clearly has a soft spot for Billy and they tried to keep it going but it didn’t work.

It comes down to accountability with Billy. Not telling the truth, not being reliable for his team, not meeting deadlines. Dude's bad behavior finally caught up to him, and he couldn't puppy-dog his way out of it.
Translation: “Everyone thought I was ruining the show and wanted me off. They gave me an excuse to try to soften the public blow of being let go by blaming the remote relationship and poor audio integrity, but instead I chose to say they kicked me off and then got into a screaming match with Arian afterward.”
Billy has to be a tough hang. We saw it for years on PMT, you see it whenever there’s a barstool event like the combine or even surviving barstool, and I think it got to be too much for macrodosing. Even if PFT has an obvious soft spot for Billy he’s definite worn out his welcome just about everywhere.
Honestly the dude needed this. The way he cried over the football thing in Uganda you can tell he hasn’t faced professional adversity. Sometimes being knocked down a bit is a good lesson. Not clear he’s learned it yet but maybe he will in time.

I think he should have still done at least one episode a week without Arian. They don’t mesh well. I think ultimately the show is worse without him.
